Chiral Allergy, Phobia of Touching, and Chiral-Sensitive Clothing-UNR

The E3 2018 Trailer mentions a "chiral allergy." In the trailer, this appears to be a type of rash Sam gets when the invisible things are near, allowing him to sense their presence. Recently, Norman Reedus revealed that Sam has a phobia of being touched. This post notes how a symptom of this phobia is a chronic skin rash, similar to an allergic reaction. Combined with the fact that "chiral" comes from the Greek word for "hand," Sam's chiral allergy and phobia of being touched seem to be connected. Perhaps one causes the other? He's afraid of being touched, so the rash manifests even when he can't visibly perceive what's causing it, or he has an allergic reaction whenever these things get close, so he develops the phobia.

On a slightly related note, Lea Seydoux's character's suit might artificially emulate a chiral allergy. We first see it when the invisible creature is nearby, and the spikes are out, but later, after it has left, the spikes are gone. At the very end of the scene, the spikes pop up again. This could be dramatic timing on Lea's part or an indicator of her mood, but it could also mean that the creature is returning, because, as she says, "those things never stay gone for long." Sam seems shocked right before the scene ends, which could be shock that she knows his name, or maybe he also senses the creature returning. For those who can't sense the invisible things, clothing that reacts to their presence would be rather useful. However, Lea seems to indicate that she can see them at the start of the trailer. She asks Sam, "you can see them, right?" most likely referring to the invisible things, meaning either she can see them, or at the very least, there are people who can. If she can see them, she probably wouldn't have much use for chiral-sensitive clothing, unless it serves as a warning for those around her.

Thoughts on connections between chiral allergy and Sam's phobia or chiral-sensitive clothing?
