[SPOILER] Was the game’s story ruined for me?-UNR

https://ift.tt/RbF5Tk0

I was scrolling through TikTok and saw a clip of a woman telling Norman Reedus that she is the beach(?), I know beaches hold some sort of significance in the game and it seemed like it was a big reveal.

So just wondering if the story will still hit the same already knowing that.

Recently finished playing through the MGS games and wanted to dive into another Kojima game.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone have advice/experience adapting an existing story 1 for 1?-UNR

https://ift.tt/PYzcSG4

Back in the ancient times of December 16th 2005 a show called Masters of Horror aired its 8th episode; John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns.

Kirby Sweetman (played by Norman Reedus) is hired to track down a print of a film said to have caused the viewers of its only showing into frenzied fits of violence. The story is pretty simple but it progresses quickly, has great subtle scenes of breaking sanity and has a series of clues followed by the protagonist, I think it would make for a perfect CoC scenario. The problem is there's not much to work with, it would be very linier and a straight forward investigation.

Is there any advice out there of which areas to flesh out to make it a little more open ended? My immediate thought would be to ad new scenes between the shows that involve researching clues that would lead them to the clues the character finds in the show off hand.

Side note: MoH's 2nd episode is a pretty good adaptation of Dreams in the Witch house directed by the Lovecraft adaption master Stuart Gordan

The Walking Dead behind the scenes is hilarious-UNR

https://ift.tt/mn9ZwJG

Acclaimed director Frank Darabont puts together a prestige adaptation of one of the most beloved comic series of all time. Season 1 is critically acclaimed. Then AMC doubles the amount of episodes for season 2 without giving him an extra penny in the budget, and just generally dicks around with him until he quits/is fired/fucking peaces out to sue them a decade later for unpaid royalties. Then they get some rando who starts killing off valuable comic characters for seasons 2 and 3. Then they fire him.

THEN we get five seasons with Scott Gimple as showrunner, and watch as the show goes from a gritty zombie drama to some kind of existentialist soap where characters just talk in long monologues about how they have to live now.

The guy playing the main protagonist's son gets 18 and has to get paid more, so Gimple pulls a season 2 showrunner move and kills him. That is immediately followed by the lead actor quitting. The show then limps along with yet another showrunner until Darabont sues them. At which point AMC quickly throws in the towel and ends the show. But not before announcing three spin-offs starring the most popular characters, one of which exists just to wrap up the story of the main protagonist (who's chronologically been chilling somewhere for a whole ass decade now). And none of them conveniently have to credit Darabont.

Oh, and one of them is starring Norman Reedus, who was only ever hired by Darabont to be a cool recurring character in s1 and was never even in the comics to begin with, but has somehow outlived everyone else in this franchise.

Red Dead Redemption movie fancast and reasons for casting them-UNR

Rules

1:Must be living Actors

2:Must be within Age range and have the correct look

3.I can name anyone without worrying about money since this is just for fun

Arthur Morgan: Christian Bale (he just looks A LOT like him)

Dutch Van Der Linde: Keanu Reeves (Had him in consideration to be John Marston but I’d like to see Keanu in a villain esq role for once)

Hosea Matthews: Harrison Ford (I know some people would want Clint Eastwood, but he’s pushing way past his 90s, while Hosea is in his 50s and Harrison while being 81 has the body type of a fit 50 year old while looking like an aged 70)

Bill Williamson:David Harbour (has the right body type and can grow and men’s beard if he wants too)

Micah Bell:Adam Copeland (as of right now he is a WWE wrestler Edge and his character from the early 2000s was a slimy, disgusting, manipulative, opportunistic, savage animal. In other words he was Micah Bell before Micah Bell as a character was even born)

Javier Esquella: John Leguizamo (literally just typed in “Hispanic Actors” and he was the first to pop up and I saw his facial hair and said “That’s fucking Javier Esquella”

John Marston: Norman Reedus (I’ve heard most people make this fan cast and I’m inclined to agree)

Lenny Summers:Jonathan Davis (I think John Boyega looks too much like an adult, and by that I mean Lenny is around 18 in the game and still looks like a teenager and Jonathan Davis not only is an adult while maintaining a teenage like appearance, but also just looks A LOT like Lenny)

Is Helluva Boss past its peak or have people's expectations gotten too high? (Part 1)-UNR

https://ift.tt/aJMYPXL

https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/hazbinhotel/images/3/3c/Helluva_Boss_transparent_logo.png/revision/latest?cb=20201003173952

This is my post particularly talking about how the Helluva Boss fandom has given the second season a more mixed reaction as compared to Season 1.

Keep in mind, I will also be discussing other fandom issues I've noticed over the number of years along with how other movies like Ruby Gilman, The Flash, Multiverse of Madness, The Little Mermaid, Elemental, Turning Red, etc have gotten low viewers since it's something I've noticed regarding the entire entertainment industry as a whole. I'll leave a tl:dr at the end summarising this.

But first, let me start with Helluva Boss' second season (I will be leaving out Unhappy Camper's criticisms for obvious reasons). Some of the common criticisms I've heard in the fandom after "The Circus" until now can be summarized as:

  1. Blitzø and Stolas shouldn't have met when they were kids since it now paints their present day interactions as being gross since it seems like Blitzø's taking advantage of Stolas by having sex with him and stealing the Grimoire.

  2. Stella is now just an adult Veruca Salt and isn't the manipulative she-beast many fans thought she was back in Season 1, to the point where Andrealphus points this out.

  3. Underdeveloped characters, this is something I've seen since Season 1 particularly with Millie and Loona. The second episode of the series fleshes put a supporting character and a minor character (Stolas and Octavia), and not either one of the main characters.

VivziePop did say that a future episode will be focused on Millie but apparent leaks and the time people have been waiting has made people uncomfortable. That along with Loona being more comforting to Blitzø in "Queen Bee" and going to kicking him in the crotch for getting too close in "Seeing Stars" paints some double standards on female-to-male violence in the show with it being played for laughs, but Stella is taken seriously.

  1. Striker is no longer intimidating and has a massive ego with his statue in "Western Energy" showing off his huge penis. I feel like people were more torn up by Norman Reedus not coming back to the role (he's a busy man) and personally, I didn't notice until the credits since I'm not a Striker D-rider like some fandom members are and am just a normal viewer.

  2. The Stolas/Stella argument is now more one-sided on Stolas' favor instead of being more balanced with Stolas' writing only showing him as a sympathetic, gay, UWU bird man in Season 2.

This post is too long so I'll divide it into two parts.

The playable "Silent Hills" game-UNR

https://ift.tt/8DCtUz7

I'm sure this has made it to the sub before but I don't see enough appreciation for it, especially since its most recent and ongoing updates:

Dreams user DrJones20's take on Silent Hills began a few years ago and seems to have more added to it quite regularly. As it is, it's unfinished, uneven and the ending kinda sucks. The voice acting and character models are also amateurish. But there are moments of brilliance even early on, full of atmosphere and some really inspired concepts.

Without spoiling too much, it proposes a Silent Hills game in which the Norman Reedus character is a detective investigating the homicide case from PT, uncovering the supernatural and existential horrors that plagued the perpetrator and drawing heavily from parallel realities - plus a Kojima-esque meta-ness about being controlled by someone else (i.e. the player). As should be the case of a classic SH title, Twin Peaks plays an obvious influence, notably in a dream sequence involving Lisa which is kinda beautiful.

It's easy to dismiss this as a shoddy fan game but I am not kidding when I say the first half or so of this feels more like Silent Hill than the last few actual western entries. I don't know what those new SH games will be like but this feels like a great way to follow the Team Silent titles; expanding the idea of a blank but inquisitive protagonist to investigate stories that link together and form the downfall and incarnation of the town we know now, in a pre-Origins origin kind of way. It could have been a great way to avoid the trauma-therapy town trope and keep the cult stuff of the canon games fresh.

TL;DR: if you have Dreams on your ps4/5 then check this game out, even if you already did back when it came out. If you're someone like me who occasionally daydreams over what Kojima's Silent Hills might've been, DrJones20's version is an excellent way to entertain those possibilities.

Would love to hear opinions of those who've played it. As I said, it's not perfect by a long shot, but certainly has things going for it.

TWD Rewrite (Season 2 Pt. 3)-UNR

https://ift.tt/Fk34cTu

2x10: 18 Miles Out

This episode is good. It remains the same up until the point of Andrea and Lori’s argument over Beth being able to choose if she should be able to kill herself or not. Their argument at first does not change, but when Andrea offers to watch over Beth she does not abandon the room and allow Beth to cut herself, instead Jacqui asks Andrea for help cleaning some clothes. Hesitant, Andrea asks Beth to be a good girl and goes to help Jacqui. In this time is when Beth locks herself in the bathroom and cuts herself. Maggie gets mad at Andrea like in the show, but Andrea apologizes and says that Jacqui requested her help. This does not help Maggie’s anger at the moment, but it stops her from being angry later on.

Other than that, like I said, this episode is good so that’s the only thing that changes.

2x11: Judge, Jury, Executioner

The episode remains the same mostly. Rick, Shane, and Morales agree on killing Randall as he is a threat to the group. Dale is vehemently against the killing, as is Jacqui, Andrea seems to sway to the side of killing him, and Daryl states that he does not care and he’s fine ether way. Lori says to Rick that she agrees with whatever he chooses, while Hershel tells Dale that it’s up to Rick. Morgan tells Dale he is not picking sides, and assesses that Randall is a threat, but he won’t be part of choosing whether someone lives or dies, so he’s sitting it out.

In the woods, Carl ends up shooting and killing the walker he had been throwing rocks at. The gunshot is heard by Daryl, who heads into the woods and finds Carl. He’s impressed with the resilience of the boy, and allows Carl to keep the gun he had taken from Daryl’s bike. He tells him not to sneak around and get into danger like he had done, because one time he “might not get so lucky” and get bit or worse. Carl agrees to Daryl’s words and heads back to the farm.

Later, during a group meeting, Dale says that him, Jacqui, and Glenn are the only ones who agree on sparing Randall, but Glenn actually tells Dale that he sides with Rick because Randall isn’t one of them. Dale then gives a speech on hope and humanity, and how if they kill Randall they’re saying there’s no hope. T-Dog seems to be moved by Dale’s speech, but he doesn’t side with him. Andrea eventually chooses Dale’s side.

The rest of the episode remains the same, with Rick ending up refusing to kill Randall because Carl supports it, horrifying him and angering Shane. What does change, though, is Dale never dies because Carl killed the walker in the woods.

2x12: Better Angels

There is no funeral in this episode because Dale does not die. The group still are big on working together, though, because Dale was right. The group is broken.

The rest of the episode is the same, except Morales and Morgan go and help to track down Randall, splitting up into three groups (Rick and Shane/Glenn and Daryl/Morgan and Morales).

This was an amazing episode, one of the best of the series. I would love to explore a what if on if Shane survived and remained with Rick’s group, but that’s a project for another day. His death is necessary in the story I want to craft for my “rewrite” because it progresses Rick and Carl as characters severely. His death is also honestly the turn from the survivors being just a group to being a “family.”

2x13: Beside The Dying Fire

The episode remains almost exactly the same, just some minor changes due to the cast still in the story.

Jimmy still gets devoured in the RV while saving Rick and Carl. Patricia is then devoured after getting bit while holding onto Beth’s hand. A walker falls on Andrea and she is assumed dead, and Jacqui gets bitten on her shoulder trying to escape, horrifying T-Dog.

The groups that end up together escaping the farm are as follows:

-Rick, Carl, and Hershel -Lori, Beth, T-Dog, and Jacqui -Maggie, Glenn, and Dale -Morgan, Morales, Duane, Sophia, and Louis -Daryl and Carol -Andrea

The rest of the episode plays out the same, but when everyone meets back up on the Highway, Jacqui doesn’t have much time left. She hugs and says goodbye to everyone in a scene reminiscent to Andrea in season 3, and she tells T-Dog a very vital piece of advice: “Don’t ever lose sight of yourself.” Before being put down by T-Dog.

Lori still gets mad at Rick for allowing Carl to kill Shane, and the infamous “this isn’t a democracy” line still happens. There’s no pan up to see the prison in the distance because I just don’t think it makes sense. Going into season 3, how would the group have never seen the prison yet been on the road through the entire winter. It also wouldn’t make sense because why would they stay so close to the farm when they already know that area is dry.

TWD Rewrite (Season 1)-UNR

https://ift.tt/ZW1dgo8

Hey all. I recently made a post saying that I wanted to begin my own little rewrite series of TWD because I feel that the show gets clunkyat points or there’s certain things I would change to make the show more enjoyable for MYSELF. What I mean by this is revert deaths that I don’t think should have happened, like Carl, Beth or Tyreese (to name a few) while also changing where some characters died, like making some characters die later than they did in the show.

I will be using the show, the comic, and my own imagination as the basis of my content. I am doing this just to post my ideas somewhere where I can get feedback while also hoping to make a story that is enjoyable to other people besides myself :)

1x01: Days Gone Bye

This episode remains the same because it’s a great episode and a perfect pilot, but one thing I would change is Morgan and Duane accompany Rick to Atlanta. I struggled with this decision, mostly because I’m not sure if Morgan’s arc could play out in an enjoyable way if he and Duane went with Rick, but I made the final decision of “fuck it.” Morgan does NOT put down his wife, but instead he makes the decision to just run from the responsibility of having to kill his undead wife. Morgan’s mental state will definitely be ambiguous over the next few episodes as he struggles with the guilt of not being able to put his wife down, but he is fine considering he and Duane are safe.

As for what happens when they get to Atlanta, I would say either Morgan and Duane wait somewhere (a building or the outskirts of the city) for Rick to “scout” or they’re all separated when the horde comes down on them.

1x02: Guts

Episode plays out the same, but when Glenn meets up with Rick he had already saved Morgan and Duane. The jewelry store scene is likely a little less tense, and Andrea would probably lower her gun sooner rather than later due to the presence of a child. I’d also presume there’s a little more tension during Merle’s racist rant on the roof due to the presence of Morgan and Duane.

Morgan offers to go with Rick and Glenn when they cover themselves in guts, but Rick says no because he has his son with him and it’s too dangerous.

1x03: Tell It To The Frogs

The beginning of the episode doesn’t change, but Rick also explains how he met Morgan and Duane in King County and they explain their story to the rest of the group, with the rest of the group, particularly Lori and Jacqui, showing extreme sympathy to Morgan and Duane for the loss of Jenny.

Morgan volunteers to head back to Atlanta to rescue Merle with Rick, Daryl, Glenn, and T-Dog, but he is told to stay at the camp by Rick after Shane brings up the point of needing more bodies to defend the camp.

At the camp, Morgan watches Ed slap Carol. He grows angry, but that anger turns into concern when Shane beats Ed. He is able to defuse the situation, giving Shane a very concerned look before helping Carol take Ed to their tent.

1x04: Vatos

Morgan thanks Andrea and Amy for the fish, and expresses interest in Duane learning how to fish after Carl asks them to teach him how to fish like them.

Morgan is present when the group confronts Jim, and he helps to restrain the frantic man after he tries to attack Shane.

During the attack on the camp, Duane is grabbed by a walker. Jim attacks it in an attempt to save the boy, but is attacked from the side and tackled to the ground. With the help of Morales, he breaks free, but looks shaken up.

1x05: Wildfire

Morgan is helping when burning the bodies of the walkers, and he agrees with Glenn that they should bury their own dead, saying the people they’ve been with deserve that courtesy.

Morgan argues against killing Jim because he saved his son, but he does add in a bit of information regarding being bitten, saying it’s a slow process and you don’t just “get over” it.

Morgan agrees with Rick on going to the CDC, saying that if there is any scientists left, maybe there’s a cure or a way to help Jim. He then goes to sweep the forest with Rick, Shane, and Dale, expressing gratitude to Rick for convincing him to go to Atlanta, saying he hadn’t seen Duane be so happy in a while, and that the friendship of the other children (Carl, Sophia, Morales’ kids) really helped the boy.

Morales and his family don’t leave in this universe. Morales makes the decision that if something like the walker attack can happen in such a large group, he would prefer to help go look for a cure at the CDC and remain with a group that has guns, and he doesn’t even want to know what happened to his family in Birmingham.

the rest of the episode remains the same.

1x06: TS-19

Most of this episode remains the same, just Morgan, Duane, Morales, his wife, and his kids are all present at the CDC.

Compared to the others, Morgan is not nearly as hungover or buzzed from the night prior. While he drank, he chose to drink light and not to become drunk.

Morgan helps Rick and Lori to convince Jenner to allow them to keep going as long as they can, and Morgan says he doesn’t want his son to die without experiencing life, no matter how shitty this new world was.

Jenner sees the fear in the eyes of the group members, especially the children. Taking into account what everyone said, he is swayed.

T-Dog later convinces Jacqui not to commit suicide. He says that Jacqui is his closest friend in the camp, and he doesn’t know what he’d do without her. Touched, Jacqui chooses to escape the CDC with the rest of the group.

End of Season Notes:

My ranking of the Season 1 Helluva Boss Episodes-UNR

https://ift.tt/ZW1dgo8

Hello my fellow redditors and fans of the IMP. I'm here today to give you my ranking of the episodes of Helluva Boss Season 1. I have many thoughts on each episode, which will likely differ from the consensus. However, that's alright, we all have our own opinions on each episode.

For the sake of the Ranking, I'll try to stick to these episodes in the context of Season 1, without bringing Season 2 into things.

Number 8: The Harvest Moon Festival

And with that, I am marked for Death.

This episode is usually regarded as one of, if not the best episodes in the entire show. And I have the gall. The GALL to say I didn't care for it. but why is that?

For starters, I did not care for Striker as a Villain. I feel like his introductory episdoe don't quite paint him in the best light, mainly due to the holes in his plan. Why did he leave his gun case open? Why didn't he try to use talk no jutsu on Moxxie? Why did he leave M&M alive? I found his design to be somewhat bland, in my own personal opinion. He's just a demon snake cowboy, which sounds cool, but, for some reason, I felt it was kind of bland. Additionally, I saw the fact he was the villain coming from a mile away. Also, his song wasn't very good, in my opinion. The only real plus for him as a character were that his voice, provided by Norman Reedus, was pretty cool, and his speech to Blitz near the end was Awesome.

Also I felt like the M&M Vs Striker fight scene looked kind of Ugly, animation-wise. I'm not sure why I think that... I just thought it was ugly. Speaking of fight scenes, I found the end of Moxxie and Blitz vs Striker to be pretty bad, as Loona justs ends up shooting one of Moxxie's cooler moments in the dick while Striker runs away. However, the rest of the fight was pretty nice.

Additionally, I found it strange that, despite the IMP crew going to Millie's family, it's a Moxxie-centric episode. While Moxxie is my favorite of the IMP crew, I felt like this episode could have used to give a more detailed view on Millie's backstory -while the fact she lived on a farm with a pretty big violent family does explain why she cares so much about Mox, and why she's a decent fighter, we could have gone into more detail about her past and history than just a few throwaway lines.

Aside from Most of that, I thought the humor in this episode worked pretty well, the funniest being the Shark gag in the festival games. Additionally, the voice work and animation was pretty good all around, as is per usual.

Overall. Harvest Moon Festival has a pretty interesting concept, with some decent jokes, but a weak plot, missed story opportunities, and a villain who did not quite come off as cool as the writers wanted him to be.

Number 7: Queen Bee

Queen Bee has no plot to comment on. Barely any. It does help capture the feeling of a party, mainly vibewise.

While I enjoyed Cotton Candy as a song, it did really nail the vibe of a early 2010s Kesha song, I felt like it went on too long, and I started questioning if The whole thing was basically going to be a series of Kesha Music Videos.

Speaking of Kesha: Queen Bee. When I first saw the episode, I thought, "wow, She seems like an interesting, new, original character. She has a fun personality and demeanor, and a nice design, even if it is another one of Viv's wolf characters that she likes so much."

Note the Original Character. I did not pick up on her being Beelzebub at all. Even when the credits listd her name as Queen Bee-Lzeebub, I thought that the 'Lzeebub' was supposed to be pronounced like she was from New Orleans or something like that. I supposed it would be pronounce Bee Lazeebub, still. Maybe I was just being dense.

Regarding my not-recognizing her design, It could be that her design doesn't contain very mainly insectoid attributes, sans the wings and the long hair-tuft things that look like Antennae. I'm not saying that you have to ditch the wolf parts, you could have given her, like, a few more insectoid qualities, like more eyes or more bee-like wings. I thought the fact that she was concerned on Blitz's overindulging to be strange, coming from the queen of gluttony. If she was just a random Gluttony Hellhound, I'd be find, but I question the Sin representing Alcoholism being concerned that Blitz was going too far. Asmodeus seemed, at least publicly, all about lust, so Bee not wanting everyone to overindulge to be strange, even if she's concerned in the context of Blitz being depressed rather than him just being a Glutton. Yes, Asmodeus didn't look like the typical Asmodeus, but at least you actually knew who he was without havign to watch the credits. Additionally, I find it strange that, while Asmodeus, Verosika, and Fizz take potshots at Stolas and Blitz for being two lovers from different classes, no one seems to care that Tex and one of Lucifer's top minions are dating. Maybe they also don't recognize the fact that this deviant art OC is Beelzebub.

So it sounds like I don't like this episode. However, I do. While I find Bee's design and character strange in the face of her being Beelzebub, I like her aside from that. Kesha's voice does really nail the party-girl energy that Bee represents. Additionally, I like Cotton Candy, and the endign theme, and the backround music. I liked Looona's characterization in this episode, it really nails her social anxiety and the feeling of being at a party you don't 100% want to be at. The humor worked, with Blitz having some of his funniest Lines in this episode.

I think I like this episode more than Harvest Moon because it mostly succeeds at what its trying to do - being an entertaining Afterparty. .However, it doesn't have much more than that.

Number 6: Murder Family

There's a lot to like about this episode: it has a good sense of tension, Moxxie has a pretty decent character arc, and the comedy was pretty decent, with the best bit being Blitz's threat of Moxxie at the end. it has good action, solid animation, and introduces the character pretty well, as a first episode should. Additionally, it does provide a goo jumping-off point from the pilot, mostly capturing what the pilot promised, which i liked.

What I didn't like was the ending. I know that, early on, the show was way more of a black comedy, with the characters being far more obvious jackasses, but the ending felt rather mean-spirited, even for a black comedy. Additionally, it started the trend of having a lot of cool Moxxie moments getting ruined at the end, which is a trend that I hate in this series.

While you could still have the family being treated real badly at the end, the sudden missile felt like a slap in the face, and perhaps too dark to be funny, at least in my opinion.

Number 5: CHERUBS

Yes, Really. I put CHERUBS ahead of The Harvest Moon Festival. Really.

Yes, the set-up for the plot is weak. Yes, the CHERUBS theme is annoying. Yes, Blitz being concerned over Loopty's partner goign to hell seems strange. Yes, the plot was really Basic.

I just thought it was really funny.

All the Gagswork , each character has a lot of funny lines. Each Cherub, while being similar to eachother, is entertaining, and they do provide a strong contrast to the IMPs, being insincere saviors rather than heart-on-their-sleeve assassins. The structure of a lot of the scenes is pretty formulaic, but the formula works. Additioanlly, this episode has the first great fight scene, and Deerie, who is hilarious.

If I were to rag on the episode more, this episode was too much of a W for the Imps. I feel like IMP should take more Ls in their adventures, in general, so having Loopty being disappointed in them could have provided a different feel to the rest of the finales, as the only other L the crew takes is in Ozzies, where both M&M and Blitz's plans are ruined by the patrons of Ozzies, though M&M recover better.

Number 4: Ozzie's

I really like this episode., but, with most of these entries, I'll start by complaining.

I'm not a big fan of how the show seems to be trying to make us be more on the side of Verosika in her part of her number, as Verosika was introduced by shit-talking Blitz, trying to gang-rape Moxxie, and hypnotizing a crowd so she could perform her succubus duties, so I feel like I can't really sympathize with her as well as the show wants us to. Yes, she brings up points on how Blitz was a bad boyfriend, which is interesting, but I feel like her first episode perhaps made her actions too heinous to start with.

I think that it was kind of stupid on Moxxie to try to sing a love song at Ozzie's, especially since it supposedly take so long to get a reservation there. Did he do 0 research? Also, how was he the opening act? Does Ozzie do no background checks?

Also, I find the animation in the first 2 minutes to be... weird. I'm not sure what it is... it just looks... off. Off in a way I'm not sure of.

One last Nit-pick: Why is the place called Ozzie's when its named after Asmodeus? There is no Z. I keep forgettting his name is Asmodeus, and keep thinking its Ozymandias, due to that pick of nickname.

Aside from that, this episode is excellent. It has the best song in the entire series (Fight ME!), stellar animation, and some of the best voice-accting in the entire show. The jokes, in general, work, Fizz and Asmodeus have a great dynamic (Though I like Robo-Fizz Better), and Asmodeus is a very entertaining character to watch.

Finally, everything from the 14 minute mark onward really hit me in the feels, man.

Now, This episode has everything great: Animation, Writing, Songs. Why is it #4.

I only rewatched this episode maybe once or twice since it came out - the only season 1 episode I rewatched less was Queen Bee, which came out a week or so ago. I'm not sure why I don't want to watch it more - maybe because the ending, while good, is a downer, or maybe the other episodes are just better watches normally. I'm not sure. Still, its a pretty good episode.

Number 3: Loo-Loo Land

Well, most people place this episode High - sometimes number 1, sometimes number 2. Mine is number 3.

So, for the negatives, I find it strange that the first episode that focuses on a character focuses not on one of the main 4 IMP agents, but on Stolas, who was introduced as a side character. An important one, yes, but still a side character. Additionally, I find that this episode treating Olivia's disappointment at the whole thing as comedy somewhat cheapens the emotional impact of the final scene. Also the game Mox and Millie play is basically just that one scene from Despicable Me. You know the one.

Aside from that, the episode is great - It has the first real effective emotional scene, Robo-Fizz is the best one-off character in the whole show (Fight me!), the best song of the early 4 episodes, and some really effective comedy, especially with Blitz.

This is probably the first great helluva Boss Episode, and helps show some of the best writing and comedy in the show, and is an example of what the rest of the show should strive to be.

Number 2: Spring Broken

This episode was just really fun, which is possibly the most important thing for me, at least for this show. Verosika is a really fun villain, the dynamics between Tex and Loona were really fun to watch, and the Possum gag was perhaps the funniest gag in the entire series. I know, Its a kinda silly Gag, but I liked it, which is the only thing that matters in this ranking.

Additionally, I thought that the stuff regarding Loona's thing about her being poor with people was a nice touch, and helped make her character more likable and sympathetic.

This episode might be the most consistently good, writing-wise. There aren't any scenes that need any major writing revisions, and the character beats are understandable.

I liked the action scenes - whether they were the quick kills or Millie vs Fishzilla. They weren't the best fights in the entire series, but they were well done.

Overall, Spring Broken is probably the episode with the least flaws in the entire show. I'm not sure i can name one. However, despite the relative lack of flaws, and great comedy and writing, there is one episode that outdoes this one

Number 1: Truth Seekers

I'll get the obvious flaw out of the way: Stolas's save was a deus ex machina, and the decision to leave Agents 1 and 2 alive did not make a good deal of sense, additionally, I find the idea that the DHORKS agents thinking that they'd be taken seriously due to them having footage of Demons being real and attacking their men to be strange, as they clearly are taken seriously enough to exist, afford large amounts of Aerosol drugs, and train their agents in using medieval Japanese weaponry.

I really love the rest of the episode. Moxxie's bad trip was really entertaining - the animation for each scene was great - Moxxie's trip being a pastiche of Disney movie animation, while Blitz's has imagery out of a Prog Metal Music video, while providing interesting imagery that provides hints to his feelings about other people in his life.

The action scene is perhaps the best one in the series, with maybe M&M vs Striker, round 2 as the only one that beats it. Everyone gets somethign to do - Millie wrecks show with her axe, Blitz and Moxxie get to use some cool guns, and Loona gets her awesome bit when she steals the Kusarigama and uses it for herself.

Additionally, Stolas summoning himself via possessing the DHORK agent was super freakin' badass, and effectively showed off his power.

Finally, and the thing that secures this episode in the top spot: Blitz and Moxxie's interogation was really funny. Funniest scene in the whole show, probably.

Aside from a few writing mistakes, Truth Seekers is probably my favorite episode in the whole show, if not the series.

Do you disagree with my ranking? I'd like to see your thoughts in the comments!

Norman Reedus Shocker-UNR

https://ift.tt/VE8FsXh https://ift.tt/qH30hpg https://ift.tt/aBMHpEF Tuned For Everything Norman We Don't Mess Around when it comes to things pertaining to the man.

What Silent Hills might have been about.-UNR

https://ift.tt/VE8FsXh

So there's obviously a lot of things about PT/Silent Hills that we will never know due to the circumstances. That being said, I've always been curious as to what Silent Hills might have been about. There's also a lot of speculation about what Norman Reedus's character's purpose was. So, I'm gonna share my theory.

Now, i know that the PT was just a demo, but i think the bit at the end that said it wouldn't have much to do with the final result was talking about the gameplay itself, seeing as the gameplay mechanics leave a lot to be desired (you walk, zoom in on thing, and talk. Thats it). So, for the purposes of this theory, let's say the story was related to the final result. In PT, some time after the violently swinging bloody fridge, you will hear a message on the radio. The message is in Swedish, for some reason, and roughly translates to this:

"Close your eyes. Let your ears listen in to the radio. Do you hear my voice? Can you hear the screams of your own soul?

Let us choose: my voice, which tells the future, or your tormented [struggles?]. Well? What do you choose? You can choose. Your life. Your future!

Wise as you are, you may already have noticed. As the radio drama from 75 years ago was the truth. They are here, on our Earth. And they oversee and see all. Don't trust the news. Don't trust the police. They are already controlled by them.

So has it been for 75 years now. Only [our master?] can keep them [at bay]. You have a right. A right to become one of us. So welcome to our world. Very soon, the gates to a new dimension will open.

  1. 204863."

It sounds very much like something a conspiracy theorist would say. And "our master" immediately suggests its a cult. I have reason to believe this is one of many callings put out there by the Order of Valtiel, for the purposes of indoctrination, or simply catching one's interest.

Another thing to note is, in the reveal cinematic at the end of PT, noting the player (Norman Reedus) has a look of confusion on his face as he looks back at the camera; he is most likely confused because of the emptiness of the town.

So, this gives me two (maybe three) answers as to who the player could be.

  1. The player is someone who heard the call from the cult, and came to Silent Hill to join the initiative

Or

  1. The player is a private investigator who came already knowing about the Order of Valtiel with a possible plan to thwart them once and for all.

The third possible option is that the player is a manifestation of who was supposed to be the son of Jack/Jarith and the pregnant Lisa before Jack murdered her out of cold blood, also possibly indoctrinated by the same message we hear in the game, as it is assumed the other husbands in the news report also heard.

So, thats my theory. Anyone can jump in. We'll never know the true answer, this is just something i thought of.
