I have a theory concerning the "lonely but connected" nature of the game.-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Hideo Kojima revealed new things at the Tribeca Talk that made me come up with a theory.

So we know that in a specific place in the game, we're actually controlling the camera, and not Sam himself. I'm guessing this place is the Purgatory we saw in the Game Awards 2017 trailer. Regarding to that he also said that there will be times where we will be Norman Reedus himself, and not Sam. And we also know that we will be able to customize Sam with different clothes, hairstyles, and equipments.

So with all these informations pieced together..

Maybe the Purgatory is a place where every Sam who died goes and stay there for a few minutes (we see in the trailer that there are other human bodies floating around). So it's underwater and all these floating bodies are actually other versions of Sam who were played by a different person before, and then we are the camera and we have to "choose" another Sam to continue the game with. Since this Sam would have been played by someone else previously, he would probably be customized a different way than our Sam was, so it would be kinda like being Norman Reedus himself, and taking on the role of a character. That would mean that every copy of the game played around the world would be a Death Stranding parallel universe, and "we", as the player, represent the soul, or the consciousness of Sam and we travel like that from bodies to bodies each time the character dies. This would very well explain why in that specific scene we see a naked Sam floating, and then the camera goes deeper underwater and there is another Sam laying there. The camera enter this Sam's mouth and the baby does a "thumbs up" sign, in an approbation way. At this moment, we probably come back to our game party with this specific Sam. I think that would make sense knowing that the game feels very lonely but also has elements that connect players together. We will share our Sams between us without ever being able to really connect and interact with each other.

Are we playing Norman Reedus starring in a film?-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Durring Tribeca, Kojima kept putting a lot of weight on saying that we are playing as Norman who is playing as Sam. And then the bit about controlling a camera in the certain part of the map and Norman winking at us and such.

I know, it's super far fetched, and probably not at all the truth. But what if we were playing as Norman starring in a movie the whole game?

I don't know, what do you guys think? It is a little weird that "we're playing as Norman who is playing as Sam." They also said that all the footage we've seen so far is within the first couple hours of the game and after that the game would be very different.

Can you imagine that you live in Virtual world with this own rules? "I'll Keep Coming" to the game and load again and again-UNR

First of all - excuse me pls for my English. I will try to express myself

We are heroes in videogames. This worlds spinning around Us. That's how they designed.

In our real life we're not a heroes. Just regular people. Our world ruled by the laws we know - physics, nature and etc.). But... can you imagine another universe existing simultaneously with our own, which ruled by another laws?

To see a world in a grain of sand

Videogame world. Virtual. What will this world looks like aside of "main hero"? I mean what will your life be in this world? Life of "not a hero". Decorations, wasteland, algorithms which "deliver some info or clearing the battlefield by taking corpses away"... I mean not just specific franchise, but the videogame world concepts.

I believe that songs in trailers are very important:

But what happened in first trailer? Song just literally explained it. Me or You as a Gamer just launch you concole or PC, connected to the game and... load:

Why I believe in the such a meaning of music:

First trailer - footsteps/handprints arrive perfectly in a broken rythm.

Whole second trailer cut match perfectly with the song rythm

What happened in any videogame while we disconnected? When we don't play it. I don't know - maybe smth that we saw in DS trailers?

If you noticed - Sam cried right in moment of eye-contact with... Us. I believe that TRIBECA Talks info was Huge. Real Norman Reedus - it's like a projection - just an another level or step up. This whole concept about videogame (Virtual) laws projected on a real people. People from our Actual world. We are Ludens when we play infront of our TV/Monitor. "A Playground of Possibilities"-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Kojima just retweeted this article quoting Norman who said after playing that DS is "A Playground of Possibilities", a few quotes from Norman and Kojima respectively state “It’s a game that can go in any direction and do all of these different things, there’s a 360 of possibilities,”

“You can move freely in the game — that means you can go anywhere you want in the game — so then what happens to my story? Sometimes I leave them to do what they want but they can’t proceed in the story. If they want to know more about the story, they have to go this way or that then. I do want people to feel they are making the decision.”

This coupled with Kojima saying the game is open world is really reevaluating my opinion of the game. Idk if any of you guys read the old 4chan leak where the guy said that you could get various weapons from different historical era's but this is making me think that might be accurate. Their characterization suggests to me that there are some kind of creative elements in this game either building or customizing stuff or using a variety of different tools to complete a task. Maybe procedurally generated elements.

I also wonder about traversal mechanics since we've seen this massive emphasis on walking these inhospitable landscapes but if its an open world game clearly there is going to be vehicles or some form of fast travel.

I was initially imagining a game more like The Last of Us but their descriptions sound more like GTA tbh.

Honestly the Tribeca talk might not have shown gameplay but there's some significant nuggets in there

My final analysis of Silent Hills by Lena Katina and how it proves the ruse is real.-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Before I begin I just want to say that I'm under no illusion that any of these findings are my own, merely that I'm attempting to combine said findings together into single coherent piece. More importantly I feel that there's never been a detailed analysis on the time-line of the themes Kojima's been implementing and how this song teases them further. I feel that if more people understood this time-line of ideas and themes the more they'll be convinced the ruse could be real.

Context.

Months before the third Death Stranding trailer a song by title of Silent Hills found its way into existence on October 2017 leading up to Halloween. The song was by ex tATu band member Lena Katina a singer who was born in the year 1984 in Soviet Russia. Soviet Russia also happening to be the place Kojima's character The Sorrow was born. Now Silent Hills released with two alternative covers. The world wide release which had Lena depicted in a black n' white photo as a widow with a red: 'X' on her lips whereas the Russian release whilst also still depicting Katina in black n' white photo as a widow this time had a red: 'X' over her right eye and a blue drip over to her left. On top of this the title of Silent Hills itself used a similar variation of the same font on the word: 'SILENT' Hideo Kojima used for Silent Hills according to the end of P.T. and the: 'Concept Trailer.' Lyrically the song seemed to be in the form of very simple words and phrases. Sorta like a nursery rhyme. In fact one of the lyrics in the song even references a nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty. More curiously though is that the song was about relationship, commitments, dreams/existentialism, space elements and murder...

Symbolism.

Asides from Lena Katina being depicted specifically as a widow on the cover. The Russian cover with the red: 'X' over her right eye and blue drip over the left seem to be not only just referencing P.T. with Lisa's eye being gouged out, but also Death Stranding. Now the second trailer of Death Stranding before Silent Hills came out many months later specifically showed Mads Mikkelsen's character with a leaking black tear over the left hand side of his eye. Taking into account also that Time-Fall rain fell specifically on Sam's wife's right eye on the photo Sam dropped.

Furthermore, this character also did a gesture where he'd put his finger to his lips. The world-wide release of Silent Hills had Lena Katina's lips covered with a: 'red' X reminiscent to the blue one we saw in the photograph of Lisa and her husband in P.T. to symbolise silence. Keep in mind that this was merely two months or, so away before the third Death Stranding trailer where the themes of: 'silence' become even more blatant with Sam telling his co-workers to: 'keep quiet' as the phantoms that of which surrounding them were attracted by the slightest of noise. Furthermore, coming back to the title itself you'll note that the word: 'HILLS' is emphasised in blood. In the fourth Death Stranding trailer Hideo Kojima specifically showcased Sam Porter Bridges traversing various hills whilst having to keep: 'SILENT' when hand phantoms were nearby.

One more thing you'll noticed although minor is that Lena Katina's chosen hair-style in those album covers seem to match with the hair-style of Sam's wife seen in the photo. Which reminds me, notice how Death Stranding, P.T., this song and Metal Gear: SurviVe seem to focus on photo-graphs? Think about it, the framed photo's in P.T. are a puzzle in order to continue through, Venom Snake in MGSV places photos all over the ACC throughout The Phantom Pain as does the illusion of Paz on her hospital wing ward wall if you decide to tackle those side-quests.

In addition, the Wandering Motherbase Soldiers also carry with them photos, these being the same photos the Paz illusion places on her wall. Moreover again in Metal Gear: SurviVe we start off with Chris/Goodluck holding a photo of avatar and other MSF soldiers before placing it in the coffin. Then at the end if we choose to leave via the: 'wormhole' we wake up as one of the identical Wandering MSF soldiers that Kaz claims were conveniently: 'Off base nine years ago' who's left with a photo-graph. Once you begin to piece it all together it all begins to make sense. How Hideo Kojima and his team have been utilising the momento themes seen in Silent Hill games. Moreover, Lena Katina's Russian cover specifically utilises a red to blue motif. A motif that again has been seen to have been vigorously used by Kojima, his team in MGSV, P.T., Death Stranding with Lindsay Wagner depicted specifically in blue/red dresses and Metal Gear: SurviVe which uses said motif everywhere from beginning to end.

Lyrics.

Despite the song's simple child-like lyrical content, there are many lyrics in the song that contain a specific context to not only just the ruse, but Death Stranding as well. Lyrics such as...

  1. "Surely it was all just a dream?" The third Death Stranding trailer specifically showed us Sam was wearing a: 'Dream Catcher' a Native American Indian trinket or charm that was made to: 'ward bad dreams away from children.' Furthermore, in Metal Gear: Survey there's multiples characters within the cast who keep using the word dream in their dialogue as well as telling each-other to: 'wake up.' SurviVe has several moments where avatar is knocked out, waking up with something similar to Death Stranding's reveal and third trailer.
  2. "Now I'm frozen in a black-hole" Again, similar to how the themes of: 'silence' got more blatant between what's shown in trailer two to three, so did the idea of black holes. For instance people noted in a DECIMA Engine demonstration that Mads Mikkelsen's character's gun had the word: 'BLACK HOLE' with the: 'O' as an omega symbol engraved and how the third Death Stranding trailer straight up just shows you a black hole after the tall phantom explodes upon pulling in the man. Python Selkan pointed out that a black-hole is an inescapable point in space n' time. A loop.
  3. "You lost our wedding ring Frodo..." I know, bizarre wasn't it? I didn't understand the context of this lyric either. Until I saw the fourth official trailer for Death Stranding which not only showcased Sam traversing various lush-green, black craggy lands akin to that of The Shire and Mordor, but that the trailer also specifically focused on what appeared to be wedding vows. Those were: 'GIVE ME YOUR HAND IN LIFE, GIVE ME YOUR HAND IN FLESH, GIVE ME YOUR HAND IN DEATH AND GIVE ME YOUR HAND IN SPIRIT.' In addition, also important to note that with said potential wedding vows in mind that Sam was holding a momento of him and his pregnant wife. On top of this again, similar to the black hole and themes of silence the third trailer of Death Stranding was conveniently where we first learned that Norman Reedus's character was named Sam. Reason this could be potentially significant when regarding the Lord of the Rings reference in Lena's song is that Frodo's best friend in said story just, so conveniently happens to be named Sam as well, Samwise Gamgee. Who at end of the book got married and started family. Finally, it's important to note how the baby seems to also work similarly to that of The Ring from Lord of the Rings, however instead of it transporting one's visual existence to another dimension it instead reveals other invisible entities nearby.
  4. "Silent Hills... I know we were not real." This has kind of been shown visually in Death Stranding via the black lion from the 5th trailer being forged as rocks behind the character of Golden Mask specifically form DNA helix structures, but more importantly it's more or less indirectly quoted by cast in Metal Gear: SurviVe. For instance upon rescuing Nicholas he'll reply saying: 'Seriously thank you - I know you're not real, but I'll never forget you guys.' To which the nurse character then replies back to Nicholas with: 'You know we're not real!?' Interesting right, how not only Survive and Death Stranding shares themes, but how both have connections to this cryptic pop-song by this Russian singer.
  5. "I had a great fall like Humpty Dumpty." Coming back to what I said about how the song seems to have deliberate lyrical content of a children's nursery rhyme and how Death Stranding seemingly revolves around a baby or babies. At least in my mind it kinda makes me think of a infant describing the relationship between the mother and father.
  6. "Looks like we are not on one team." I think this is referencing the supposed feud/split from Konami, but what's more interesting is that the lyric that follows directly on from this is: 'Surely, it was all just a dream?' Maybe in the sense that it didn't actually happen?

Other interesting details.

If you listen to the song carefully after a number of verses you'll begin to hear a ticking sound play throughout the song, followed then by a clock chime for the chorus. Again, just like how other themes became more apparent with each trailer. This song was only released months before Kojima talked about a concept called Time-Fall in Death Stranding, with the previous trailer being what appeared to be people outside of their own time during the events of D-Day 1944.

Upon listening to the chorus I suggested to RetroHellspawn, a friend of mine that the tune was a slowed down version of the intro of the Silent Hill theme song. Needless to say it's kinda eerie just how well the song's chorus fits with that intro.

Conclusion.

As you can see for yourself it'd appear that Hideo Kojima has been implanting these themes within a specific time-frame throughout the years. Making theme more apparent with each new trailer whilst slipping in cryptic external media that provides further context to said themes. The fact that Silent Hills by Lena Katina lines up this perfect within said specified time-frame of themes and ideas is no accident.

In addition, also important to note that with said potential wedding vows in mind that Sam was holding a momento of him and his pregnant wife.

So I just wanted to discuss who you all think would be perfect for each god or goddess. For me the big three would be, hugh Jackman as either Hades or Poseidon. Ralph fiennes as Hades And liam neeson as Zeus. Ares would be norman reedus or Keanu Reeves Aphrodite would be anne Hathaway (near perfect women) For demeter maybe dolly parton? (For the irony) Athena, gal gadot? Need someone strong for her. Artemis i honestly don't know maybe a actress that looks really young. Idk for Apollo either. Hermes, (the micro machine guy) to be fair the man who played him in sea of monsters seemed fine. Dionysus, Nicolas cage.

Fuck Konami-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Konami is perhaps the most well-known gaming company to have such a tremendous fall from grace, rivaling the fall of Maddox's cowardly ass. Imagine driving away your top talent TWICE over multiple console generations(read: Treasure), gaming luminaries such as Koji Igarashi, mastermind of the post-Symphony of the Night Castlevania titles, and Hideo Kojima, widely regarded as one of the greatest game creators of all time, in order to sell mobile and pachinko shovelware to satisfy investors. Now imagine having both creators utterly hand you your ass(read: Guillermo del Toro's Golden Globe acceptance speech) and losing all good faith from Western gamers. Sure, Kojima's Death Stranding isn't out yet, but with such talent as Del Toro, as well as Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen being integral to its development and Sony's funding, it would be harder to fuck it up any worse than PT. Speaking of, the cancellation of PT as well as the Creation of Metal Gear Survive are up there as gaming's greates fuck ups rivaled only by the creation of the Virtual Boy. With an upcoming Arcade Collection for modern consoles containing utter shit no one cares for and excluding any great titles they own such as Sunset Riders, it truly confuses me as to why they even still fucking exist. Consider as well how fucking degrading their work environment has become since Kojima's departure. Shit working conditions have given us possibly the worst titles in their long, storied history, contrasted with Igarashi's indy development team having considerable fun creating Bloodstained-Curse of the Moon, easily one of the greatest games I have enjoyed in my entire life. If you have any loyalty to Konami, just end it. Look at it as having loyalty to Maddox and his cowardly, spineless method of talking hard shit and being unable to back it up.

Andy Lincoln question-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Andrew said he was leaving TWD to be with his kids in England because they aren't as portable as they used to be. But doesn't TWD mostly film in the summer when kids have their vacation from school? He could have technically purchased a summer home in Georgia and had his wife and kids stay with him during that period before returning to England to resume school and such. Yes I'm aware that I'm grasping at straws because Rick Grimes is my favorite character and his decision has already been made. I think his decision was based on the show's writing and direction under Gimple. The rumor of what he said to Norman Reedus about regretting leaving when he did only supports that. Angela Kang could have reinvigorated his character the same way she reinvigorated the show in Season 9 and I think he knows that now.

Deleuze and Guattari and Death Stranding: An almost complete and comprehensive theory of Death Stranding-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Disclaimer this is long so I don't blame you for just reading the TL; DR: but please consider reading all of it.

Tl; dr: A theory by two philosophers helped me plot out what I thought were the 2 most probable storylines for the game. 1. That Death Stranding is an event or the name of an effect by this event. 2. Death Stranding refers to what humans call the state one finds themselves after death. As Well as some of the ways in which the gameplay would mirror what’s been seen in the trailers. Including how we may already be playing or “learning” how to play the game. All based on an assumption that there is more than one Dimension involved in this game.

To start off I need to explain why Deleuze and Guattari have any role in this post. I’m currently a Philosophy Major and had been reading some Deleuze and Guattari, when I decided to apply this Rhizomatic way of thinking to what I had already seen and read on the subreddit countless times. I don’t want to get too into the theory or the work by Deleuze and Guattari but I’ll link to the wiki so you guys can take a look). A brief description, of my thought process, was, “Okay all the things I know about the actual world in Death Stranding I learned via the trailers.” What this leads me to believe was that all I needed was a base or a starting point and then I could make a multiplicity of assumptions based on what I thought would result in me reaching the points of the trailer. If this is confusing, I know, I can barely even articulate the thought itself. What I mean by all this, is that in order for me to reach the actual state of events of the trailers, I need to infer what the world would be like from the beginning. The way I did this was thinking of some of the posts that we’ve seen on this Reddit, as well as what Kojima himself has hinted about the game itself. This led me to the thought, “Why is it that Death Stranding, as Alien as it appears in the trailers has a strong sense of familiarity?” This is what changed the way I viewed the game and trailers as a whole.

I began with the idea that perhaps the event that took place that led to the Death Stranding was something I could not actually infer so I gave up on that. What I could infer based on the trailers is that at the very least the scenes that include time fall, must be in the same universe where time fall is prevalent. So I hypothesized based on this assumption that there have to be at least two dimensions that the player will play on. One of these dimensions is very much like ours and has the same people etc, with very minute differences. Now the theory that I'm about to go into has two different routes that I’ve considered. 1. That Death Stranding is an event or the name of an effect by this event. 2. Death Stranding refers to what humans call the state one finds themselves after death.

  1. Death Stranding as an event

Death stranding as an event would be something similar to Pacific Rim, or any other post-apocalyptic scenario. Humanity adapts to the new environment and sets up a change in governments, and technology to either fight back whatever caused the event or to try and live as comfortable as possible given the current state of affairs. In either case, they would need someone to deliver mail. This is where Sam “Porter” Bridges comes in. Sam is a delivery man this is obvious just looking at the 3D sculptures they have of Norman Reedus as Sam.

Not just that but in the E3 trailer, Lea Seydoux’s character can be heard saying, “Sam Porter Bridges, the man who delivers.” Which is in itself is entirely ambiguous, is she referring to his job doing deliveries, or does it have any association with him being involved in politics at least in the universe (this will be important in both theories) that I assume we see in the photo that Sam picks up in the E3 trailer. I say assume, because it may be the case that the game revolves around a multiplicity of dimensions or the game is completely different than I think in these theories. If there are mailmen in this dimension, then there are other things that would pop up in this world that would be different than our but would be very similar, think memes, and the “need to know” series. I told myself think memes in the traditional sense. So looking at Lea Seydoux’s character we can assume that she works for Fragile Express, I believe this delivery service is similar to FedEx or UPS. This just helps elaborate on what kind of world this is. Where there might be conflict or “the main evil” in the game might be the giant monsters we’ve been seeing in multiple of the trailers. This includes trailer 2, via the organs on the tank destroyers, and trailers 3 and the man in the golden mask trailer. In trailers 2, and 3 we can see organs of creatures or in trailer 3 the creatures who would have those organs. This would mean that it is not the case that Mads Mikkelsen's character is not a bad guy per se. The reason I think this is because I believe that the dead and living seem to be co-inhabiting the same space for some reason due to the “Death Stranding” event.

At this point, this is what I believe to be the main premise of the game if “Death Stranding” is an event. The gameplay elements would be similar for both theories which I will get into but this also means that how we as a community have been talking about the game is or would be in line with how Death Stranding as a game that makes connections is already being played, but allow me to move on to theory 2. Death Stranding refers to what humans call the state one finds themselves after death.

  1. Death Stranding refers to what humans call the state one finds themselves after death.

This theory is a bit different, instead of some apocalyptic event, it's still some event that will be explained when the game comes out, but I thought what if Death Stranding isn’t an event itself but a label of something like “Limbo” for example. For this theory, I imagined that the dimension that the trailers take place will be called the DS for Death Stranding. Similar to the phenomena that happen when whales beach themselves. This would clearly be some metaphor but could still explain the feelings of those who may not be in the DS. I say that because I believe that in Death Stranding there are two parallel dimensions one where the living exist and one as the place for the dead. In this case, Imagine that when you die you end up in the DS, and you keep living somehow, in this separate dimension. Wouldn’t you want to let people know there is an afterlife? Perhaps in this case in the DS all those who have died and made it to the DS have had to endure dying and coming back time after time void out after void out, controlled by the “kaiju creatures” in this world people began building societies and things that could survive the environment like time fall or other variables we don’t know off. They would still need mailman to deliver packages. Which is why we play as Sam a delivery person. It could also be the case that Sam delivers mail for society in this parallel dimension with its own government “The United Cities of America” within the cities, and, or even to the world of the living. Other government factions or groups such as S.T.A.R could form or even enemies like the man in the golden mask may be out to cause trouble. Regardless being a delivery person is an integral part of this game.

Gameplay

As far as gameplay goes, I believe that this game is just an open world game similar to Zelda Breath of the Wild or even Horizon Zero Dawn with no tutorials. What I mean is that I don’t think this game will have hubs of any sort or at least very minimal like GOW. That's what things like the handcuffs and the Spinning Flower detector are for to give the player feedback that would be relayed via hubs, that is now simply part of the character or story. That’s where the online elements come into play. I believe that the way people will make connections is by posting either on an app produced by the game or Kojima productions or just simply on PSN or on other platforms, but the “need to knows” are based not just on direct references to the game or memes that they are implanting into us, but words or phrases that will be useful when creating guides or tips for other players which will be accessible via the game itself. The social media element is the tutorial. I believe that this will be the first, Minimal Guide Open World Game.

Final points

I still have much to say but my thoughts aren’t as concrete on those topics. Some last points would be that both theory 1 and 2 could be combined and be combined with what we know of the gameplay to make some cohesive hybrid of the two theories. At the very least something along the lines of either theory is probably where this game is going. The religious symbolism, as well as the “sad” vibes of the game, just scream a game that takes place in whatever place it is we call heaven or hell. But let me know what your thoughts are I’d love to engage in some discussion either PM me or just comment below, thank you for taking the time to read if you got this far.

On both Norman and Hideo's twitters they both have been having pictures with eachother and one with a button and another with Hideo showing Norman something on a Ipad. Could this mean we are getting something new about DS? Maybe they are getting ready to celebrate being done with the game and as well as getting ready for a release party. Who knows.

[Spoilers] BTS Tidbit from Season 2.-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

I was watching an old video of Chandler Riggs playing Minecraft and he said something I thought was pretty funny. l about season 2.

When Rick and Shane were going to kill Randall in the barn, Carl walks in and says, "Do it dad." But Chandler said that Norman Reedus got him to say, "Do it Pappy," during the rehearsals.

I can't find any footage of it but here's the link to the video he talks about it in:

Really sweet story, makes me miss the Carl and Daryl duo that could have been.

Norman Reedus is in Japan, for his Ride show, even though I'm sure he will pass by KJP. A Ride episode with Kojima, Aki & Ayako would be awesome !-UNR

unscrambling words in DS's trailer led me to this!-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

I found something interesting tonight and I thought of sharing it with you guys !

So, in all the trailers so far from DS, words appear, either '' A Kojima Game '' or '' Norman Reedus In ''. Thing is, when you watch these words, some letters have strands coming down from them. Goo-Like strands. I was looking at them and then I just told myself, why not write them down and see if this unscrambles a coherent sentence?

If words / sentences repeated themselves, I did not count them in again. For exemple, Look at the picture, from that picture you take ' e a t s t a n d i n g '. Since the Game's title is in every trailers, I only added the letters ONCE.

And adding them all up I got this interesting sentence '' True friendship comes when silence between two people is comfortable ''

It's just too perfect not be something, wouldn't you say?

Has this never came up anywhere online? I would be surprised if it wasn't the case

Thank you! have a nice day / evening!

Young Guns 3-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Where can I start a petition to Hollywood for "Young Guns 3?"

Emilio, Lou, Kiefer, Christian, Viggo, all of them. Plus Charlie and Martin Sheen, and I want to see Spacey as a bad guy too.

And PLEASE add as many bad-ass mofo's as possible. Get Sam L, Denzel, Quinten, Foxx, Deniro, Pachino...

Buy up as many bad ass stars as u can get, and the box-office return would be worth it a hundred fold.

Change my mind.

Edit: And if Norman Reedus isn't in there somehow, throw the whole godamn project in the garbage.

Dream where adventurer who looks like Norman reedus meets his father who’s an elf who transfers his life force to Norman and turns into Samuel l Jackson with the help of Maisie Williams-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

So Norman Reedus in middle earth armor walks into the room and sees this elf along with Maisie Williams and the elf was like son, we will talk once I’ve given you my life force and then started glowing. Then I saw Norman’s head start to expand like a glob and slowly turned back to normal but now he looks elven and when I looked back to the guy, now he’s turned into Samuel L Jackson with a perm and Maisie looked amused because apparently for some reason all elves look almost the same but once they lose their immortality they change? Cool dream tho, it was a sequence following one where they reached the city in the sky with a special artifact

Crappy Character Cavalcade™, Blade edition-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

We all know them. We all hate them, mostly. They're the also-rans, the wasted potentials.
They're the characters that NM, power creep, and time forgot. They take up space in the roster, and return very little for the investment in them. They are the bottom of the bottom tier.
But, can they be used? Are there niche modes, or specific teams where they can become more than useless? They'll never be meta, and they'll never score big in anything.
But maybe they can still be fun.

Thus, we have: The Crappy Character Cavalcade, Blade edition.

Wanting to make your game time suck) less?
Maybe you just want to play after midnight, son? Or it could be that you just hate vampires as much as this guy that Brooks no vampiric shenanigans.
If any of that is true, Blade) is your daywalker.

  • What uniforms are available/best.

He only has one, the amazing afro assassin look. Visually, it's actually almost as cool as disco. Play wise, not even that cool. I mean, this uni needs a stake in its heart in the worst way.

When uniforms didn't come with skill changes or abilities, there was a canned response to the question "is this uniform better?" The answer was "it's ten percent better".

That's the only good thing to say about this uni. I dig the look, but I'm older than grave dirt. Even when it was new, it didn't make Blade great. It does bring a defense down on his 1 skill, and it was the first in the game iirc. Other than that, it doesn't offer any utility.
If you don't already have it, or need it to boost another uni, it really isn't worth getting despite the ten percent boost.

  • How useful is the Tier-2 Advancement/Passive?

About as useful as Norman Reedus was in the movie. On paper, it looks good. Damage boost and a fairly decent ignore dodge amount. If you could actually survive long enough to hit anything, it might be great. You can't though.

I'm torn. Back before I t2'd him, I ran DDE for a while. And at that time, it helped. With the shield and his own lead, he could clear most pve content of the era. He was tough to kill in story mode chapter 9 and below. But he still lacked DPS. Later on, during one of the cost discounts, I switched him to POAH. He really benefits from the DPS boost more than the shield in the few things he can do now.
But if I was trying to get him going as a new player, I'm not sure what I'd put on him. He seriously needs an update or a good uni, so he's not worth doing a bunch of rerolls on, so go with whatever you get first; one of the damage proc, IIAG (I am also Groot), or DDE

  • What stats would you prioritise for 4th Gear Option, Uru, or Uniform Upgrade Options?

This is another tough one. Without the standard SCD,ignore defense, crit rate, crit damage run, he's going to suffer.
But his kit really needs HP and recovery on paper. His lead is really good when he's got both high enough.
With enough DPS, it could balance out though. It doesn't, but it could. So it's better to stick with the standard and hope for the best in the future.

  • What Custom Gear (Obelisk or CTP) do you recommend?

Fill in his stats. I'm running an ignore def with web resist and a shield. The web resist helps him in the only SL levels he's truly useful for; the speed relays.

  • What teams or team bonuses do you use them in?

I so badly want to say he's incredible with the midnight sons. Him and ghost rider should be a team up. But they wasted midnight sons as a group. GR, Strange, and Blade. The only useful boost from it once you have decent cards is the recovery rate. That team does great with blade as lead. But really, just make Strange lead and use him.

Instead, he gets used without a team up most of the time. He's bottom tier, so he's mostly a leader for when your main needs the extra heal. In that regard, he turns any of the regenerator heroes scary hard to kill. And, two of them have minor bonuses with him. Gwenpool and Wolvie are both great mains anyway. Under his lead, they can solo past floor 40 no problem.

  • How viable are they in various gamemodes, and with what skill rotations?

Oh boy. You know, there's a testing scale I use for evaluations. The final chapter of the agents of shield levels, hard villain siege, and the first floor of SL. In general, those were pretty hard at one point, but should be able to be soloed with decent cards.
Most characters can solo each of those. If they can't, they're essentially useless. Guess what blade can't do.

He can solo chapter 9 story. And medium villain siege too! So he's got that going for him.
I've taken him into regular AB trying to do this edition. Even with him as lead, baby Groot, and Angel, he can't finish it because he dies. His best result was with Elsa lead, and Warwolf transferring his buff. Still couldn't finish. He either died, or just couldn't clear it.

For a vampire, he really sucks.

  • How good are they against various World Bosses, in what teams and what stage (if World Boss Ultimate)?

He's awesome! He aces Thanos in five seconds!

I didn't think anyone would buy that. He couldn't even do anything useful before WBU was a thing. His lead gives a nice survivability boost, but then you lose DPS.
Sorry, he's just not up for it.

  • What floors can they clear (or assist clearing) in Shadowland?

Ahhh, as usual with this crappy character thing, this is where the bottom tier can occasionally shine.

Now, Blade can't solo a damn thing. Not even the first floor for me. But he can be a really great support. I'll give the more detailed how to at the end, but with enough careful play, he can be valuable even at high floors.
He's great in any of the speed relays. He can't solo, but if you equip him with either stun or web resist, he can throw enough burst to be handy.
And, he's surprisingly nice in rumbles because of his defense down. It's only physical damage, but since all the floors he's eligible for can be run with all physical attack characters, it's better than you'd think.

  • How viable are they in PvP, in general?

This marks the fourth CCC post. Let's face it, none of the characters I'll be doing are of any use at all in PvP unless you're a masochist.

If you're a masochist, he is incredible! Really, there aren't many characters in the game that melt as fast as Blade in PvP. Not much dodge natively, zero iframes, no damage mitigation. Just messing around this last week, I saw him die so fast I thought it was a glitch and he didn't spawn. That's how sad he is.

  • What ideas do you have for more uniforms?

Oh man, tons of looks. My first pick would be the midnight sons era. That's Blade at his most bad-ass. Which is saying a lot because comic Blade is sort of like Snake-eyes from GI Joe. He's so patently over powered and given plot armor so many times in his history that it's silly. And c'mon, who wouldn't love a Snipes Blade in game?
Either way, keep his 5 skill as is, but add an iframe to it. Have the uni double the heal from his lead and half the cooldown on it. Give the minor crit buff on his 3 a boost and add a crit damage as well.

But for his 4, make him grotesquely awesome. A full ten second accumulate damage buff. Make it his damage. He's a freaking half vampire, how does he not get more power from feeding on his enemies? It's like, central to his trope for crying out loud! He gets beat down and has to feed on his foes to rise up. That's his thing. Make it part of his kit.

Oh, and wtf? One bleed on one skill? Home slice should be throwing bleeds like Nightcrawler does.
Hell, change his passive to do extra damage against bleeding targets since I'm wishing in one hand here. You know what I'm doing with the other, and which one will fill up first, right?
You got it, I'm pumping out some lotion to fix how chapped my ass is that Blade sucks, and not even in the good way.

  • What are your overall thoughts on the character?

Man, Blade should be so cool in game. I want to love him. I'd settle for just being able to use him fully. But here comes that word again, he sucks.
Seriously people, when I cooked up this idea I thought the characters would get better as I went along. I mean, I started with hulkling!
How is it that Blade, one of the coolest characters in Marvel, that had his own movie trilogy before the MCU, is so bad? I mean, MODOK is better as lead. Hulkling has more survivability. Hawkeye does better DPS.

  • Trying to make use of him for fun

Where blade tends to shine most is in relays. Alas, really only the lower level speed relays. As mentioned before, you'll want a stun or web resist for those. Otherwise he falls apart like a vampire in the sun.
That being said, he does really solid burst damage. When he's up, pop his 1, then 3 for the crit boost, and the 5 for damage. You probably won't get a second rotation before he dies. Even on floor 1, he just can't take the hits. Now, if you've got stun resist, you can kite him until spidey comes out. It's usually more trouble than it's worth since any of the other low tier combat toons can do okay damage as well.
If you went web resist, save him for spidey. Just tag him in for his burst, then tag out immediately. His native ignore dodge does give him the ability to lay down some hurt on the web head and ant man.

Now, one of the great things about Blade isn't really fun. But his leadership can be really effective. I had some serious success with his lead in post 30 SL. It does require someone with either a lot of damage mitigation or heals of their own, and significant DPS.
Wolverine is unstoppable with Blade as lead. He's already pretty close as it is, but just for fun I took them into an entry floor against the X-Men. Blade died in like three seconds. But Wolvie just face tanked the first stage, then laughed at Magneto and Storm. Finished with a few seconds to spare at full health.
Gwenpool, Deadpool, Hulk, and Groot can be used in a similar fashion if they can clear the floor.

This one got really long. But there's more to add, so I'll have to leave it as a comment since I'm out of room
