As many of you know, Kojima is having a talk at Tribecca Festival. Some new info about the game:
- One of the other themes in Death Stranding is anti-war and anti-nuclear.
- Kojima on Death Stranding's genre: "It's an action game, an open world action game. But it's really new it's something new. There's so many things happening in the real world, America and Europe, everything is actually connected by the internet."
- Kojima talks about the FOB from MGSV and says that some of the aspects of that mode will be in Death Stranding in some fashion
- There is a feature in the game where you can manipulate the camera. He did not elaborate on what it is.
- Reedus says that there are violent elements but it goes much deeper than just a straight-up killing game.
- Norman Reedus teases that his character will have “many toys”
- Does not want to change his vision due to marketing feedback at all and says that it is very fun to play. Norman says that there are scenes in the game that hits the record book for him
- The level of detail in Death Stranding: Kojima added Reedus' new tattoos in the game since initial scans, offers to add even more if he's got them.
- You can move freely—that means you can go anywhere in the game you want. So what happens to my story. I let them do what they want but they can't proceed in the story. Kojima adds that he wants people to feel like they have the freedom to make that decision .
- Question: Do you think people are gonna cry in this game? Reedus: Yeah... You get emotionally involved in so many ways. Mads' character is so intense...
- Kojima says that you might see some similarities to what's happening in Europe. He wants people to enjoy the game but see the real-world layers/connections .
Edit: Kojima: "I'm sorry that I couldn't show you stuff today. Maybe in a month or so. Maybe?"
