Just a quick thought I came up with at 5:12 in the morning while brushing my teeth.. We keep getting emphasis on how Norman Reedus isn’t playing Sam, he’s playing Reedus. After thinking about this, i came up with a weird theory.
When Leas character asks Sam what his name is he says his name, which is much more like a position in a company Sam the “Porter” at Bridges. Lea seems to find it intriguing that this is the name he has given. He also has no recollection of some of his past. I believe this is because he is no longer who he used to be. He is a clone. He is us. He is a grown up Bridge Baby. I believe she was curious if the clones have the memory of their genetic father. But they don’t, they just have OUR memory. And since we don’t know who he was, he doesn’t know who he was. So I believe that our main character is just a port for us to use to navigate their world. Hence the name Sam “Port” er. Anyway i’m tired as hell so this will probably make a lot less sense when I wake up rejuvenated. 🤷♂️
