Lately we have seen a lot of theories about BBs. The way the last trailer is shown where we are looking through a BBs eyes with all the blinking. There are also the cryptically-philosophical tweets from Kojima about Sam as a player also plays as Norman Reedus, etc. It makes a lot of people hypothesize that we are gonna each be a BB as players.
This raises a few questions though and it also prompts me to make a few assumptions/hypothesis (which are gonna be mighty wild, mind you).
First of all, this time at the start of the latest trailer we're going inside the BB but let's break it down even further. Who are we then? Are we just a spirit with a camera? Or just maybe we are a cryptobiote?
It would make sense, wouldn't it? We can have a form and as we've seen basically in each trailer, cryptobiotes move freely in the world. But we've also seen them being coughed/puked out and we've even seen them being eaten willingly.
In the E3 2018 trailer, a cryptobiote tries to get inside a BB but that one is already taken by another cryptobiote? The BB there does not open its mouth, so it's immediately exiting.
This could also maybe answer the question what will we do when we are not inside a BB. We'll either be following a character as a freely moving cryptobiote or perhaps we'll be inside a character itself, just "observing". Because as noted in other threads, it's assumed as BBs we will be more actively helpful to Sam (possibly other characters) showing him BTs and perhaps other things as the game will progress.
A small thing to note here is that in that first-person view in the "war-world" / Hades? maybe we will be directly controlling the shoulder-mounted gizmo to help out Sam (or anyone else who has it there).
Just perhaps we'll be able to go inside characters who have DOOMs? If we follow the tears of chiral allergy, those would be Sam, Fragile, Mama & Heartman. Higgs' tears are a bit on the black and dried up side and Amelie is crying blood.. so, yeah.
I really like the "philosophical" theories that we are the intruders in an autonomous world. A lot of them talk about breaking the 4th wall and how the game and its world and characters are gonna acknowledge player's presence. We are not just observers like in many games, we are not the main heroes like in many games. We are freaking cryptobiotes, a stranded alien life form Kojima talked about. It's not gonna be hard for the game to acknowledge a lot of nasty, alien, direct-control-assuming cryptobiotes :)
I believe this falls in line with other hypothesis and Kojima's cryptic tweets. But, obviously, it's just an another one of them so no need to get wild with those awshitherewegoagain.gif memes. I'm just having a bit of fun here and yea.. wake me up when October ends!
