[ENDGAME] Finally got around to finishing the story-UNR
Honestly....just....amazed. Don’t think I’ve ever played a game that ended off like I just watched Interstellar. I was more in love with Troy Baker’s acting of Higgs, but now Mads Mikkelsen definitely takes the cake. Definitely need to watch a recap video to better understand the ending. Kept hooking me back in when I thought it was gonna finish multiple times. Kudos to Norman Reedus for taking on such a great role. And definitely thanks to Hideo Kojima for pushing the boundaries of gaming and not giving a single fuck that it’s outside the norm.
Now time to finally set my sights on that Platinum. Keep on keeping on, porters!

I get sexually aroused by seeing men in pain-UNR
Not as weird as it sounds (or maybe weirder than it seems?)
To simplify it, men in physical and emotional pain turn me on. My favorite way is a punch to the gut, or strangulation followed quickly by a swift knock to the face, or being tossed around.
Now here is the tricky part. The men that I like seeing in pain? Television and movie characters only.
The mere thought of a real person being harmed does NOTHING for me, but the characters they play? THAT is what gets me.
Seeing it, reading it in books or FanFiction; both of them get my engine revving when I see my favorite male character in physical, mental or emotional pain (gotta love hurt/comfort).
RDJ? No
Chris Pine? No.
Norman Reedus? Nah.
Jensen Ackles? Nope.
Lucas Till? Meh. Nope.
But Sherlock Holmes (RDJ and BC versions), Captain James T. Kirk, Dean Winchester, or Angus MacGyver?
HECK YEA.
Beat them, cut them, strangle them, break their hearts and then help put them back together and I’m wetter then ever. Actions movies are my porn.
Is there even a name for what gets me going? Am I alone in this?

I binged 9 season over 2 weeks on Netflix and I have some questions.-UNR
Hi all. I started watching the show about 2 weeks ago and just finished binging all 9 seasons on Netflix. I'm confused about stuff and was hoping you guys could help with answering them.
1- Who was in the 3rd grave in the prison? I know Lori and T-Dog died and were buried. But they (Daryl I think) dug a 3rd grave for Carol assuming she died but she was later found alive. So who did they bury?
2- When Rick has his breakdown after Lori dies, he walks into a room with blood on the floor looking like someone dragged a body and a walker is snarling around the corner. In the same episode I think its shown that Carl didn't really shoot Lori and there's a bullet casing that Rick finds or something. Can someone explain this situation to me please?
3- Why didn't Rick go to the Vatos (Vados?) for help when Beth was kidnapped by the Atlanta cops? Surely those numbers would have been helpful.
4- Why did Anne/Jadis speak in that weird way when she was with the garbage people and later changed the way she talks when she joined Rick's group? I liked the way she talked.
5- Why did Daryl pretty much stop talking after Beth died? It felt like a waste of Norman Reedus. Before that I remember him being fairly talkative. After, he would just grunt half the time.
Bonus question: Who is your favourite character on the show and why is it Carol?
Thank you for any insight you provide!

Is DS truly worth the hype and time? Want to play but want to know if it's my type of game. Give me your take and wisdom pls.-UNR
For reference: I've played games like Sniper Elite, Call of Duty, all Tell Tale Games, all Quantic Dream games, Life is Strange, Dying Light (which I'm pretty sure I sucked at), I Am Still Alive (oldie but goodie) and The Last of Us (which I know I suck at-the crafting and the dying-but I love it for all the other reasons, just gotta get the hang of it), and my favorite series: Uncharted.
I've really wanted to find a new game to fall in love with and I feel like DS has those elements, Norman Reedus, Incredibly beautiful graphics, a sense of darkness, immersive and a great story. However, I don't know that I'm a huge fan of crafting things and I believe there's a large amount of crafting? I find it tedious or maybe I'm approaching it wrong. (I tend to feel like all the Spidermans when they're learning to use their web slinger for the first time. Which is crazy because IRL I love making stuff.)
So I spend my time on puzzles, stealth and strategy, or get really sucked into the story with amazing characters, or sometimes just want all out guns blazing mayhem.
It truly looks so interesting though, and I've almost bought it twice. But if it's just a crap ton of walking and walking and lots of crafting I'm unsure if it's worth all the hype for me personally.
Without spoilers of course, can you give me a bit more info? I've watched the playthrough for the first 20-30 min and that's all I have to go on, because I wanted to avoid spoilers, but also find out about game play. For reference, I hated Just Cause 4. Too much crap to do, and it felt clunky, sometimes you just want to blow sh*t up. I also wanted to love Fallout so much and played through a few encounters, got back to my hood afterwards and there I've stayed. I was totally into it until I was like, how do I make all this stuff?!?! Again, the crafting. I just wanted to make a stew, man.
Thanks for sitting through my back and forth thought process and thanks for the feedback.

Dreamception-UNR
So, in a dream I had I went to sleep, and in that dream I, on a whim, just peaced out to New York. From there I OUT OF THE BLUE met Norman Reedus.
We chatted for a bit, I got a picture, it was all fun times. Then after he left, I realized I went there flat broke but for some reason there was a Dutch Bros???? (if you're unfamiliar, it's a west coast coffee chain) Anywho as if they were reading my mind some random girl walked up and asked if she could get me something from there since her family was going there anyways.
I graciously said yes and wound up getting the weirdest fucking thing which was like, this Adidas branded drink (it was entirely black but with three white stripes) Anywho as she and her family started to walk away she gestured for me to follow them.
Since I was technically homeless with nothing else to do I said fuck it and did From there they took me to their home, and right as I sat on their couch I woke up from that dream.
That's probably the trippiest dream I've had in a while and the girl seemed so familiar.

Daryl's "iconic" look-UNR
I feel like Norman Reedus is too protective about his hair (lol), and AMC might be encouraging Daryl's same look throughout the seasons because it's easier to sell toys/market such a popular character.
I've heard fans defend Reedus for keeping his hair, but it's never convincing enough for such a simple request as cutting it a little bit. I would be OK if Daryl at least changed up his clothes instead of the same black shirt, pants and vest... but he doesn't.
It makes zero sense how he looks the same after the six year time jump in Season 9. Less than four years passed from Season 1 - Season 8, yet Daryl's look changed a lot during those earlier seasons. Come on.

Sam’s Carry Strength (Early Game, No Spoilers)-UNR
When playing, Sam looked ridiculous carrying so much stuff around and on his back, and it got me wondering. Is it ridiculous that Sam can carry so much awkward weight?
Caveat, the math I’ve done was quick and I’ve been known to make mistakes, but this question and answer have plagued my mind since I’ve begun my 2~3 hour journey into Death Stranding.
The answer? Not as ridiculous as you might initially assume.
The record of heaviest overhead lift is by British Andy Bolton at ~263.5 kg (581 lbs). I’m using the overhead lift because (my stupid logic) if you can’t pick it up over your head, then you cannot reasonably carry it a meaningful distance like Sam seems to do.
Andy Bolton (from my lazy google search) weighs ~164.2 kg (362 lbs) so that means that Andy can lift ~160.48% of his body weight! (Maybe not carry it but if his heaviest deadlift is ~457.5 kg or 1,008.6 lbs, then I assume he could carry it)
Traditional Sherpas can carry around 90%-125% of their body weight long distances in low oxygen.
Sam’s early (unassisted) in game carry limit is 120 kg (~265) And Sam’s actor Norman Reedus is ~76 kg (168 lbs)
So Sam can carry approximately 157.89% of his body weight!
Considering that the upper limit is around 125%~160.48% then Sam’s 157.89% is fairly reasonable.
Once again, I’m no math major and this burning question had to be sated, if only by approximate numbers and lazy research, so take this with a grain of salt, and if you prove me wrong, all the better.
TLDR; Sam can reasonably and semi-realistically carry the ridiculously large amount of stuff that he is seen carrying in game.

Konami is better off without Kojima-UNR
I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't like the Metal Gear Solid games and I don't like Kojima as a game creator, though I do respect the man. With that said, I am going to try and argue this point without letting such bias cloud it.
Metal Gear Solid V was a massive success, but even with it's success it barely covered the costs that it took to create that game. It's well known that Kojima likes to do whatever he wants with absolute disregard for the business side of things. That's fine, he's not a business man, but him constantly trying to fight Konami when they are trying to reign him in doesn't help matters.
Konami was actively hemorrhaging money during the development of MGSV, the amount of money and resources it took to create the fox engine alone was already hurting the company, not to mention the fact that MGSV's development kept getting extended because Kojima kept adding shit, leading the game to end up extremely behind schedule. For many years Konami poured money into Kojima's magnum opus only to get absolutely nothing in return. They were well within their rights to rush the game's development, and the fact that even after all that the game still felt unfinished, shows that Kojima was a money pit director who was EXTREMELY bad for business.
The Fox Engine is a brilliant piece of technology, and Konami wanting to use it for their other properties makes sense, but Kojima wanted to use it as an educational tool for college's and the like, as if he was the one who poured money into it. His ego and artistic arrogance hurt the company that made him, his refusal to compromise with the higher ups is his fault, not Konami's.
I don't blame Konami for monetizing the fuck out of Metal Gear Survive, MGSV's success was still not enough to justify it's costs and protracted development time, they need to make money from the property, and at least they didn't add DLC to the original MGSV, instead they made their own game AND had it take place in an alternate timeline out of respect for Kojima who has shown them none in return.
Since Kojima's exit, Konami has actually been doing well. Their slot machines and pachinko machines have made them a lot of money, saving them from the ditch Kojima left them in. Their recent explorations with the fox engine have been runaway successes. Their latest Pro Evolution Soccer game is awesome and outright superior to EA's FIFA, and many Soccer teams agree considering many have ditched EA in favor of Konami because of it. They recently released a fun little twin-stick shooter in the Contra universe which is a lot of dumb fun to play. They recently CnD'd a young modder who made a remake of Kojima's PT for PC, but then hired the dude as an intern. Not many publishers go that far, ever.
Meanwhile what has Kojima done? A video game remake of The Postman starring Norman Reedus? He was bad for business, plain and simple and Konami were 100% in the right for ditching him. The whole company has been better off without him.
Character's weights throughout the show-UNR
I know they're actors and it's a TV show, but still. Would any of the characters be able to realistically maintain their physiques throughout the show the way they have?
Daryl/Norman Reedus actually looked skinnier in season 3 compared to season 1, which I'm sure was unintentional but it looked realistic. But then Norman put on more arm muscle for season 4 and beyond.
Rick/Andy Lincoln on the other hand was skinnier in the first season, yet he has a bit of muscle in season 5 when they reach Alexandria (which is ironic because they were on the road for a bit).
I just wonder because I personally lose weight so quickly within weeks if I stop trying to bulk up, or if I miss even 100 calories to maintain. I wouldn't survive with rations in TWD lol.

The "NORE RMED ANUS" Meme Story-UNR
So it has been quite a few years since all this went down and I finally figured I would share the full story behind "The Walking Dead ANUS Kid Meme". So if you have been watching the show since the beginning since I have you might have seen a meme with three people in bright orange shirts that read "NORMAN REEDUS" when read across. When read per shirt it looks like "NORE RMED ANUS". I was the anus tshirt kid. So the story goes that my mom is a huge Norman Reedus fan and as a surprise she bought us comic con tickets for Christmas one year. It was a wizard world comic con in Philadelphia probably going on like six years ago. If you have ever been to that event or the Walker Stalker Cons you would know it can be pretty pricey to see a lot of the cast. We did not have the cash to meet Reedus that year but we figured we would get the attention of him through the shirts. I knew ahead of time of my unfortunate shirt and wore it anyway. We ended up getting one of the staff at the con to get his attention towards us and he took a picture of us. During that day a photographer from MSN took our picture and the next morning we were on the MSN homepage. After that we thought it was a cool memory but it kept growing. We ended up becoming a meme. At the end of that year Norman tweeted a photo of us wishing us a happy new year and then it died. Almost a year later Norman Reedus was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy put our picture up next to Norman and they made fun of us which was amazing and I use that as a starter story when meeting new people. We ended up going to another con and met Reedus. We gave him the shirts and he said he would sign them and donate them to a charity we liked but never heard anything after that. I tagged two photos that were not the meme that I found on a camera we had. One of them is us outside the convention center and the other is with Sean Clark which I believe was his manager at the time. I still watch to this day and wanted to share my experience with the show.

What's up with the egregious product placement?-UNR
Just picked up this game on sale for 40% off. I'm digging it so far, but what I'm not digging is the asinine product placement.
Some games did it right. The Last of Us had Sony brand Voice Recorders. Games like Skate 3 and Tony Hawk had skateboard brands like Baker and Birdhouse. But these added to the immersion.
But this game? The monster energy cans in the private rooms? So America is experiencing an apocalypse yet Monster Energy is somehow alive and well. It makes no sense.
But what got me more is the shameless Ride w/ Norman Reedus AMC show advertised on the shower screen in these private rooms. Is Norman Reedus under contract to do so many advertising campaigns a year? Does he have sponsorship with Monster Energy? I'd like to think Hideo Kojima didn't do this on his own volition.

Merle thoughts (what could have been?) from a TWD new watcher-UNR
Apologies since this subject has probably been done to death, but I've only recently binged the show (will be starting season 9 soon) and I just wanted to get some thoughts out about Merle and what could have been (?).
I really disliked Merle in his introduction (as we were supposed to I'm sure), but Michel Rooker gave such an undeniably great/memorable performance, so I was pleased about his reintroduction in season 3 and found his entire arc quite exciting. His death was memorable, but also an incredible shame to me. I couldn't help but feel like we'd been conned out of a fascinating character the very same season he was reintroduced, and just when the audience were probably starting to warm up to and feel some sympathy for him, to add insult to injury. I know that was likely the intent of the writers; to add some punch to his death scene (which admittedly did let him go out with a bang) but I couldn't help but feel like we'd been deprived of so much more potential.
No slam against Norman Reedus, nor the character of Daryl, but I do personally think Merle is the more interesting brother, especially paired with others in the show. Imagining him teamed up with the likes of Rick, Michonne or Glenn for example would have provided so much more tension and chance for growth...it was clear that the character was showing some kind of regret, or at least his loyalty to Daryl proved that Merle wasn't entirely without a heart or moral code. For this reason I do think it's possible Merle could eventually have become a valued and integrated member of the group. I can easily see him being an asset to Rick whenever he was in a more brutal mindset (the Terminus stuff for example), and it seemed that no matter how much of an asshole Merle could be, Daryl was showing himself to more than capable of keeping his brother in line. Sure there would have been lots of conflict between characters in the beginning, but this would have added needed drama within the group. It also would have been rewarding to see a character like Merle gradually get along with the others and 'redeem' himself in that way. And who knows, a later death would have been even more poignant for that extra character development.
I guess in part I'm bitter because so many less memorable characters (imo) lasted much longer, and Rooker was just so damn entertaining in the role. I feel like the show benefited so much more with in-group tension (and even humour) with a guy like Merle. Even if he didn't last too much longer, I wanted to see him play out his role as the 'bad guy' of the group, yet still working with them. That's the kind of trope I love.
This probably all sounds like a massive whinge about killing off a fave, but I'd love to know what anyone else thinks. Do most people believe Merle died at the right time? Or should he have bit the dust a bit later on? I feel like whatever happened, he still would have gone out in some memorable way.
Apologies again if I'm just reiterating the obvious. Being new to the show like a slowpoke I just have so many feelings about so many things right now!

Norman Reedus’ son, Mingus Reedus-UNR
Ships, Trains and Ports-UNR
The first dream I have written down after a long time.. do any of you guys know what it might mean? Anyway it's fun that's why I wanted to write it. Enjoy.
I was in Lucerne and then I had to go back home so I hopped on a tram, I waited there listening to music while I was about to leave I saw LONG (friend of mine) in the tram I went to shake his hand, and then I hopped out.. while I was walking I found myself in a town that looked like CREMA (my hometown) and I had to go to the station, I didnt know where to go I see a black guy, (looked like someone I knew in my hometown) and he tells me to go with him because he knows a shortcut through a big park. I go with him, he walks really fast almost as if teleporting, once I catch up to him, he is chilling with 2 girls and 2 guys that are Canadian listening to some music techno on the left I see 2 guards both tall dancing to the music, the girls asks me if I want to dance I decline.
We leave from the park and we go to the port, we are waiting we are looking at the tires tied to the pier, and he tells me it's the job of the sailors to tie them, I try to tie them but I cant.. all of a sudden, our enemy, hops on a ship and leaves, my friend, first mate the black guy tells me he is getting away, so I sit down call the ship (like in AC) and the ship drifts in the pier, we catch it and we head towards the other one in the ocean. trying to catch them.
The dream changes I am all of a sudden simply observing 2 people which look like BRAD PITT and NORMAN REEDUS, in a submarine, they are both scientist trying to catch MADS NIKKELSEN, Mads has kidnapped a kid, the two ships underwater board each other and Norman tries to made the exchange for the kid that Mads has kidnapped, so he goes through the air depressurizer to see mads but mads isn't on the ship and so he assaults Norman from behind and tries to hurt him, Norman escapes makes it in the ship with Brad, Brad is strapped to the chair in the cockpit now pointing upwards, they succeed at locking Mads out, Brad starts the ship which thrusts to the sky all of a sudden pulling a lot if Gs and Power, Norman almost faints trying to strap himself while ascending.. and then boom the speed keeps increasing and they both faint.. (like in the Epstein run from The Expanse)
All of a sudden we all 3 ( me the observer unstrapped) are floating we are in space, months later Brad is showing Norman his waist and pants pointing that he has lost lots of weight, they are both drawing and making something, because they are scientist, Earth is looking for them.. the dream fades..
And I wake up
Does anyone else really despise the recent use of celebrity likenesses in video games? It's destroyed the immersion and escapism of playing video games when using them to escape from the current celebrity-worshiping media.-UNR
I'm not sure if this is the best subreddit to discuss this issue in seeing as it doesn't directly relate to ethics. But hear me out.
I'm someone who used video games for a large portion of my life to cope with depression, autism, and PTSD. All throughout my life, I've been bullied by the same people who later became SJWs, which should strike a chord with most of you.
During this current culture war, my opinion of celebrities has DEEPLY soured. From the pedophilia being exposed, the constant left-wing hounding from celebrities who have never worked a day in their lives, the fact that they literally think they're gods compared to the average person. I don't even watch live action TV or movies anymore.
I'm aware Kojima has always wanted to make movies, but I was turned off by Death Stranding because I literally just see the main character as Norman Reedus. And mind you, I've met him in real life before a few years back and still couldn't stand his likeness in a game I used to escape reality. Hell, I was one of the people FURIOUS that Kojima fired David Hayter as the VA of Big Boss in MGSV and replaced him with Keifer Sutherland.
I'm tired of my escapism constantly spoiled and ruined by real world politics, and lately real world people. I'm not going to stare at the increasingly unnattractive faces of celebrities superimposed onto characters when video game graphics are great looking without the need to do that. I'm tired of being told to "worship who the elites have deemed better than me".

STALKER ANOMALY; Reputation overhaul idea-UNR
So the basic idea is this: As you do more jobs for a faction, as your relation with said faction rises and depending on the amount of successful given jobs of a certain type (e.g package delivery), stalkers will start to proactively seek you out and propose employment thanks to your rumoured expertise.this could allow a player to roleplay a huge variety of professions such as; killing the mechanic in the truck cemetery and taking His vice to steal his job, become the mailman of the zone by delivering packages like Norman Reedus, be a renowned bounty hunter approached by many a slighted stalker or be a guide for inexperienced rookies to learn the ways of the zone. Is this applicable in a future patch of the game or is this too much work?
My Portfolio-UNR
For lack of a better term, as in all the work I have done until now:

First sheath Ive ever made, signed by three of the cast from the TV show Supernatural

Crossbow quiver, made to be hung from the belt, mostly done in 9 oz leather, the spacers around the "bolts" that I dont think you can see is 6 oz leather, and the caps on the ends are 4 oz I think as is the strap. Took it, met a mat by the name of Norman Reedus (one of the advantages of living in Florida) and he was extremely cool and thought it was awesome and signed it for me.

one of a pair of greaves I made. 9 oz leather with 124 per side 4 (- 6 oz I cant remember) shaved leather scaled that took me an hour each to make.

Easily my favorite piece, 9 oz leather backed by 9 oz leather covered by 22 ga steel plates covered by 22 ga steel blue flame logos. All the metal was cut with at first a Dremel (and I killed one doing this) then a 4.5" angle grinder. I made it for a friend and gave it to him for his birthday one year

My first engraving, my second bracer ever, 9 oz veg tanned leather
https://i.imgur.com/LdftZOL.jpg
The bottom of same, 6 oz I think veg tanned plate and 4 oz straps (and loops and stitching that was as serious pain in the butt)

Back half of a 9 oz baked leather sheath for a Death Eater wand from Harry Potter. The rest of the bracer is 9 oz leather as well

Bottom of same bracer, this bracer and the one above it are a pair. The reason the bottom changed design is basically, I screwed up when I attempted to replicate my success on the bottom of the first one and I ran out of materials and time till Megacon to make it.

My cat modelling my first attempt at making a scaled bracer, I stitched them on. All 64. All I gotta say is it keeps its shape amazingly well

Cur boli (wax boiled) leather scales I was experimenting with

Scroll/map case that I use to keep my goat leather playmat for playing Magic the Gathering

Let's say Kojima does make up with Konami...-UNR
It'd be amazing to see this ugly divorce vanish & Kojima to return & finish Silent Hills! The demo alone has left such an impact in horror gaming today, along with breaking a ton of hearts when it died. But if this reunion does magically happen...could we please cut out Norman Reedus? I honestly just don't get it. Besides feeling like he's an over hyped actor, he just doesn't fit in the Silent Hill world what so ever. Plus the part that bothers me most is, we are all well aware that Kojima is capable of making some crazy ass & unique characters (metal gear solid series). I would just prefer it to be an original character character made from scratch over any actors, which Kojima relied heavy on in death stranding.
How to get Silent Hills back with the recent games leaks and the announced movie.-UNR
Since there have been leaks of 2 Silent Hill projects and an announced movie, there is a way to give the fans back the "Silent Hills" they were promised.
-Give Guillermo del Toro the rumored leaked episodic Silent Hill game.
-Give Hideo Kojima the traditional Silent Hill projects that was leaked.
-Make it so Norman Reedus is the MC or at least appears on the announced Silent Hill movie.
By doing this Konami is giving back what was promised.
3 Silent Hills...hence...Silent Hills.
