Although Kojima has said that the Ludens mascot for his company will not be included in Death Stranding, he has a famous past of misleading anyone and everyone when it comes to his games. Watching over the release date trailer again I realized Die-Hardman has the word Ludens printed on his forehead and that made me think that Kojima really planned more of his work to be connected. In the Logo Movie for Kojima Productions the Ludens character plants a flag into a piece of unclaimed space and the upside down whale from the TGA 2017 Trailer. What I believe is that the Bridge Babies are these advanced species of humans (Homo Ludens) and that's why they're used to see the invisible BTs as well as why Mad Mikkelsen's character speaks to the baby so frankly as he's aware of the babies intelligence and is likely the reason why Troy Baker's group is called the Homo Demons. His final quote to the baby being that it can explore wherever it wants, even the moon. Norman Reedus has also confirmed that the Bridge Babies will play a significant role in the story. The first mention of Ludens is in the novel The Time Wanderers where they're known to have mental abilities that surpass that of humans i.e Sam only sensing them where the babies can pinpoint where they are. The obvious similarity between Mad's speech to the baby as well as the promo video for KJP is an emphasis on the exploration of the universe on top of the countless similarities that people find in PT which is quite obviously linked as DS is pretty much the aftermath and absorption of Silent Hills. What my current thought on how the game will go is that Norman Reedus has to bring back together the world after what I presume to be aliens comes to earth and people like Sam as well as every human character gain alien powers that give them access to whatever the "Other Side" is. It's sort of like the Tom Cruise movie Edge of Tomorrow for those who've seen it as well as the floating creatures being reminiscent of an alien UFO where a UFO will float in one place i.e District 9 or Arrival.
Whether or not this theory is paper thin or not, the feedback is appreciated :)
