Been doing some research and thinking on MM while working on my paper, and of course, I can't get it off my mind. Some ideas I wanted to bounce and maybe see what you thought. Would you consider these artifacts MM?
- Death Stranding? (2019 PS4)
- A literal "Inbetween" world, where in most cases it looks dark and hopeless, but our characters and world are pressing on. They are working toward rebuilding civilization while understanding things may never get back to where they are. The game also incorporates many quirky and comedic elements in a pretty bleak. There also an environment without being satirical. Along with these elements, the game is very self-aware of Norman Reedus, as seen in the bathroom messages.
- Wheel of Time and Dark Tower series?
- Both series revolve around a mythos of rebirth and redoing the journey. Granted I haven't finished the Dark Tower or WoT, but many of the elements seem very in the same vein. Wheel of Time and it's characters especially, with there being a literal dialogue between old and new(for those that know some of Rand's character arcs)
Would love to hear your thoughts. As Akker and Vermulem described MM as being an invitation for debate and discourse I really would love some interaction.
