I already know that a lot of you will call me boomer but, can we go back to old videogames?
Today's games are nothing but ballbusters with ''realistic'' and ''immersive'' gamplay and a ''deep'', ''emotional'' and ''compelling'' story.
Now don't get me wrong, i like ''immersive'' games, i spent 10+ hours on Metro Exodus, but if I had to choose between DOOM Eternal (or any other DOOM) or Metro Exodus, I'd always choose DOOM.
And it almost looks like today's videogames are either
- Indie 8 bit, 2d platformers or walking sims made by a small studio who wanted to make some quick bucks off the internet and who slap some ''deep'' bullshit plot about a social issue and shit like that.
2)AAA games who made just for those sweet 70 dollars at launch, and i'm not taking about Call Of Duty who's the same every year but also about those ''niche'' games like Death Stranding, if people would stop sucking Kojima's dick they would realize that just because your game has 10 fucking hours of cutscenes (two just for the ending cutscene) and big names like Mads Mikkelsen or Norman Reedus in it the game isn't automatically a good game, now it's gameplay is shit, you just walk around a map to deliver packages to people, the only cool thing about the game is the ''multiplayer'' even if it's a very big game breaker.
So as i said why can't we just go back those old videogames, and i'm not saying that all modern videogames are shit nor that old videogames are better ''cuz nostalgia'' but mostly because in my opinion gameplay is and should be more important than the story in a videogame.
