My thoughts on Daryl Dixon-UNR

So I would say overall I didn't really enjoy Daryl Dixon. I enjoyed aspects of it and certain scenes, but not as much as I could have. It's partially a matter of not meeting my expectations, but also it just not being as good as it couldve been and having flaws, like everything. People might disagree on how much those flaws hurt the show and if they can overlook them because of how great the rest of the show is, but for me there is too much bad writing, wasted potential, dumb, far fetched, contrived moments, and I think the whole premise of the show is flawed.

The whole vague mystical mystery aspect to it... it's just not for me, it doesn't fit in TWDU. I get them wanting to do something different, but honestly, it's not, we've already had our fill of hallucinations and dreams and pseudo supernatural stuff and weird stuff in TWDU. I would rather have a more grounded story and focus more on things that have already been set up with the walker experiments and variants, rather than this soap opera drama.

And the whole dilemma of whether Daryl should stay in France or go home to his family is ridiculously forced. I liked the Stranger in a Strange Land vibe to the show, and I mostly like the dynamics Daryl has with this characters, but come the hell on, Daryl needs to get back to searching for Rick and be with his family. The only reason he's not going home is because Carol is coming to France. And then once she is, what is to keep them from leaving together?! Clearly some bad shit went down in the Commonwealth, and someone is back, so why would they stay? I like Daryl being in France, but it isn't where he's meant to be, no matter how many mouthpiece characters say so.

So yeah, I'm pretty disappointed by the show. Again, there were moments I really enjoyed, like the experimental walkers battle of course, Daryl visiting his grandfathers grave, some of the more intimate and emotional scenes between Daryl and Isabelle and Laurent that really showed off how well Norman Reedus can act when you give him actual dialogue! And I will say Daryl can hold his own in his show. But there are too many characters and storylines and moments that are just dumb, boring or underdeveloped to me and there is so much potential there that was wasted. I hope that season 2 will be an improvement, and I am excited to see Daryl and Carol back together and what she brings to the adventures in France.

So I bought a pair online and they are ok.., cost me 80 quid.. but..

I wanted green like they said on the site, they sent out brown ones, I sent them back, got brown again, they're also slightly long but I don't mind as I wear big boots and tuck em Into it.. they're grand but only an A rating..

I did loads of looking on different sites and bought another pair, same size as the last ones but twice as big and honestly my levi jeans feel tougher, so I sent them back.. lots of sites don't even give measurements just S,M,L,XL.. which I find odd for pants..

I was watching ride with norman reedus (would definitely recommend the show), and the jeans he wears look top quality.. you can barely even notice the knee protectors in some of them.. they look so good you could even wear them as everyday jeans!

What is a game you play to relax and unwind after a stressful day?

I do not play soulslike games because I just hate it’s checkpoint system. I don’t mind difficult games like roguelikes/lites. Just don’t like having to spend time traveling to where I died over and over and over again.

I don’t play horror games because I’m too much of a BITCH. Though I loved Resident Evil 4 and Callisto Protocol.

I play Ghost of Tsushima for its amazing open world exploration and fun multiplayer option. Ragnarok for its great story and fun boss battles. Returnal for its amazing haptic feedback and fast gameplay, despite being difficult. Walking Dead TellTale series for its story. Death Stranding when I wanna see Norman Reedus and cosplay as my UPS driver. And Fortnite or Warzone when I’m in a competitive mood. The last two aren’t that relaxing, but is really fun with friends.

There are numerous outstanding detective thrillers, but "8MM" has always stood out to me for its remarkable quality, despite residing in the shadow of more renowned titles like "Silence of the Lambs" and "Se7en". With an IMDB rating of 6.6, which I believe is unjustly low and fails to do justice to the movie's true quality, it is more than deserving of mention alongside its celebrated peers. Director Joel Schumacher meticulously crafts an atmosphere of suspense and unease through careful attention to visual detail. Dark, shadowy cinematography, combined with stark contrasts, establishes a gritty tone from the very beginning. In my opinion, its visual style is just as impressive as, if not slightly superior to, that of "Se7en". "8MM" possesses its own distinct visual flair, and it is highly effective in setting the tone.

The enduring mystery at the heart of "8MM" is also exceptional. The journey of a private investigator into the sinister realm of underground snuff films is both chilling and compelling. The film does not prematurely reveal its secrets, keeping the viewer in a constant state of anticipation. It is refreshingly unpredictable; you never know what's going to happen, and this focus on the mystery truly elevates the movie. It feels like you're embarking on an adventure alongside a detective to solve this case. Character development occurs organically as they work to unravel the mystery, rather than independently of it, contributing to a well-maintained pace. This sets "8MM" apart from the approach taken in "Silence of the Lambs" and "Se7en". While the movie may not be the lengthiest, its brisk pace makes it feel substantial and complete.

The movie also features some outstanding characters portrayed by an exceptionally talented cast that delivers performances of the highest caliber. Nicolas Cage's portrayal of Tom Welles was nothing short of fantastic. Additionally, Joaquin Phoenix, James Gandolfini, Peter Stromare, Norman Reedus, and others all deliver exceptional and believable performances with a commendable degree of depth in their respective characters.

This raises the question: why do "Silence of the Lambs" and "Se7en" receive such critical acclaim in comparison to "8MM"? Is it a matter of subjective taste or an arbitrary distinction? "8MM" possesses all the elements that make its counterparts so revered. It grapples with dark themes, showcases exceptional acting, maintains a gripping pace, and boasts a striking visual style. The film's thematic depth, combined with its unflinching exploration of human depravity, is on par with, if not superior to, its more celebrated peers. In my opinion, "8MM" deserves a place at the forefront of conversations about detective thrillers. In the history of cinema, certain films tend to shine more brightly than others, achieving a very high level of recognition and acclaim. Among these, "Se7en" and "Silence of the Lambs" stand as towering figures in the detective thriller genre. Yet, a film that often remains unjustly overshadowed is Joel Schumacher's "8MM".

I find it fascinating that Diane made a point of stepping out with her partner/fiance (and father of her child) Norman Reedus this week, the week that Jodie Turner Smith filed for divorce from Joshua Jackson. I think she did it on purpose, that she was looking for a chance to send a signal that she and Norman are still together.

It's funny, but it's actually kind of sad that Kaiser thinks this is how adult relationships work. Congrats to Diane Kruger I guess for somehow engineering the break-up of her ex and his wife the same week that the NYC Ballet Gala would be held, just so she could attend with her own partner to "send a signal" she is still with her partner for some reason?

I know we joke here but the glimpses we get into Kaiser's mind are often truly dark and depressing to me. She can't believe that sometimes other people just go around living their lives, doing the things that make them happy, and she can't understand that people in relationships sometimes end those relationships and move on and find happiness. She seems to really think everyone is like her - bitter, angry, and obsessed with some sort of score-settling for petty slights no one else remembers or cares about. Like I say, it's funny but actually sad. If I was acting like this, I would hope someone who cared about me would do a mental health check before I spiralled further and further, but for Kaiser I think the future only holds more spiralling.

I have been rewatching The Walking Dead, which of course starring Mr.Sam Porter Bridges, Norman Reedus, and there is a scene in season 2 episiode 7 "Pretty Much Dead Already" at around the 25:40 mark where Hershel takes Rick into the woods to capture some walkers to put in the barn. Hershel recognizes one of the walkers from a distance and calls them "Lou Bush" Rick then asks if he know 'him', Hershel responding to Rick with "Lou as in Louise". Of course TWD Season 2 came out years before Death Stranding was even probably thought of by Kojima, but just thought it was a cute, or possibly the inspiration for Lou being named Lou/Louise in the first place.

I’ve known about Pandorum since it came out in 2009. I hesitated to watch it because I heard negative things about it so I kept putting off watching it. I now regret that decision. I find Pandorum a good, underrated science fiction horror movie that definitely does get the credit it deserves.
In Pandorum we get a handful of kills, but we get a lot of dead bodies, and weird creatures. The kills are decent with some blood (poor Shepard. He’s basically eaten alive). And for those who don’t like it when someone messes with the eyes, be forewarned. Someone gets stabbed in the eye. (What is this, a Fulci movie?) And if nothing else, never trust a kid. Sad.

Pandorum’s two lead actors do a good job. We have Dennis Quaid (known for Jaws 3d and Dreamscape) who plays Payton, the leader of the 5th shift. He does a great job of showing the slow progression of going crazy. Ben Foster (known for X-Men Last Stand and 30 Days of Night) plays Bower, the engineer who descends into the depths of the ship, and finds indescribable horrors.

Pandorum starts with Bower, waking from hibernation, confused and with no memories of who he is or where he is at. He finally wakes up Lt. Payton who also has no memories of what is going on. They both realize that they are the only ones there. Where’s the rest of the crew? While Payton tries to figure out how to get onto the bridge, Bower starts exploring the ship. Instead of finding his crew, he finds a few survivors, lots of dead bodies, but also strange, humanoid-like creatures. These creatures are feeding off the people in hibernation. As Bower makes his way around the ship, the actual events of what happens on Elysium (the ship) start to unfold.

Is Pandorum original? Not really. It does borrow from other movies (like Event Horizon a bit), but I did find myself enjoying this movie. The acting and the creatures were definitely good. And how the real story unfolds is actually interesting. The movie has a very claustrophobic feel which I liked. I was disappointed to read that this movie has such low reviews on Rotten Tomato and IMDB. I think Pandorum is a decent Science Fiction Horror movie. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Norman Reedus (from Walking Dead) is in it? If you have time and are looking for a sci-fi horror movie, then I would recommend watching Pandorum.

Mammon VA Most likely Choices-UNR

Mammon is gonna be appearing soon and most likely his VA is gonna be someone whose both pretty famous and also a pretty good singer. Both Asmoedeus and Bee are voiced by notable singers, one being a prominent Broadway star and the other a famous Pop Star. As such it only makes sense Mammon would also follow this same pattern.

Additionally he'd have to be someone who can probably sing Rock and Roll convincingly since Mammon is apparently a Rock Star inspired Singer or rather Rock Music is his particular Genre.

Me personally I'm thinking he's either possibly voiced by Mark Hamill given his demented clown theme though Mark's singing is certainly debatable or possibly Jack Black who we know is a great rock star and a very competent voice actor.

Granted some might say Jack Black is too big or too hard to get, but getting Katie Perry was already insane and they managed to get Norman Reedus to voice Striker for an episode. So if Mammon doesn't make regular appearances it's possible. But who do you guys think?

Recommending related media is cool here, right? Because I was watching John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns last night (October is for horror movies) and couldn't stop thinking about how much it fit the setting.

It's basically a Grail cultist hiring a film collector to track down the reels for a film depicting an actual Edge Ritual performed using the sacrifice of a Manus creature. Every screening results in horrific violence and even getting close to finding the film causes visions and alters the subject's mind.

So, strong King in Yellow vibes. Also starring a young Norman Reedus.

With Edward Bosco taking the role of Striker from Norman Reedus, due to Norman's commitments to the walking dead franchise and maybe Death Stranding 2. Course he might have done the mo cap and voice acting for that years ago. Now he and Crimsons are both voiced by series regulars. Including a main cast member. So they could appear more often, if I understand how this works.

I'd be cool for one or both to make one more or a few more appearances in the next six episodes. I doubt that building collapsing, killed Crimson. He was set up to want payback against his son for defying him.
