Does Death Stranding contain a lot of "Hollywood americana"?-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

I was interested in Death Stranding's storytelling and started watching a Let's Play, because I don't have a console. Absolutely loved it – up to the point where it suddenly becomes about "uniting america" (why not "the world" or "the [fantasy country]"?). And introduces obnoxiously kitschy tropes, like Norman Reedus being told that he's still part of the Strand family, wearing the symbolic dreamcatcher, having to carry on his patriot mother's legacy etc pp.

I'm actually not here to rant about it. I'd just genuinely like to know if it goes on like this, or if all those clichés are just there to get subverted later on.
So that I can decide wether to keep following the game or not.
