So I just started rewatching the show for the first time. I just finished season 1. It's pretty striking to me how much Daryl seemed so young and "not the same Daryl" as we've come to know over the years. Then, bam!, Season 2 ep. 1 hits and Daryl immediately seems way more like the Daryl we're all familiar with. Anyway, that was it really. I'm guessing that Norman Reedus decided/was directed to play the character differently, but I just couldn't believe how jarringly different Season 1 was/is. For the record, I love the show overall and never stopped watching/suffered through all the ups and downs.
