Icelandic Moss & Death Stranding Connections-UNR

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

There are three theories I have regarding the moss.

(1. Pregnancy | 2. Stomach Issues | 3. Sam Vomiting Tardigrades)

  1. I was looking up a connection to the recent moss post by Kojima and the game, specifically of the Icelandic variety and stumbled upon this site. It states that for “pregnancy and breast-feeding: It might be UNSAFE to take Iceland moss during pregnancy. The concern is that Iceland moss can become contaminated with lead, and this can be harmful to the mother and unborn child.”

This is interesting because of the translated post that can possibly be the synopsis of the game and how babies seem to be extremely valuable due to women being “extinct”.

Further searching led me to this image showing the side-effects for pregnant women, basically dramatically affecting the baby that is so important to Norman Reedus’ character in the game.

  1. Another interesting, but possibly unrelated find, is how it is actually used medicinally in Iceland and around the world. “Cetraria islandica was traditionally used for relief of vomiting arising from irritation and inflammation of the stomach. It may be a useful herbal remedy for low-grade stomach infections seen when there is low stomach acid production.” (From here). If it is an open-world game with vitals management, after you come from the underwater purgatory, you may need to find it and eat it to prevent something bad from happening (like Sam vomiting).

  2. Something related to the theories regarding tardigrades being vomited, they are commonly found in moss/lichen. Vomiting tardigrades may be a side-effect of eating the moss

These are all just ramblings regarding various connections to the moss photo Hideo Kojima posted and may end up being completely false. Like with every theory, it’s just a theory and most likely will be false, but this game is perfect for theorizing. Let me know your thoughts.
