Looking for inspiration for a post-cyberpunk world in the style of modern Spiderman games.-UNR

https://ift.tt/cd0WDhl

I know this sounds strange, but I had a dream that I want to turn this plot into a plot for a TRPG.

There was a character, who looked like Norman Reedus, as an agent of "evil forces." In fact

Story have three narrative lines:

"Good Path" The Vigilantes (They avoid the official name and are more likely a group of Neighborhood Patrols) - policemen, doctors, hackers, specialists, ordinary people, who are tired of that the government turns a blind eye when strange things often happen in the city, and they are constantly trying to hide everything. Although the City is considered the most high-tech and developed, with the lowest crime rate (not counting all sorts of underground super-villains, of course). Their problem, is that they are divided and each has their own goal. (Of course there are The Shining agents) They don't have the resources, so they have to cope on their own. They don't have many operatives who can do infiltration and research, but those who can, try to train those who can. But if they encounter an anomaly, the right choice would be to run away and alert the Police, The Shining, and citizens. If players choose them, they will become operatives, and their curator will be a girl with the face of Eva Green, and her father, who runs the district with a face Bryan Cranston.

"Bad Path" "The Shining Corporation" - A corporation created by an anonymous multi-billionaire. It sells protected safety equipment, as well as products to improve the quality of life and health. It has own army, which studies and and fast eliminates anomalies. And they use their technology to find and signal anomalies, and this is one of the main reasons why they are hated. All agents and employees look like beautiful, pretentious top models. Even the operatives dress in the best branded fashion suits, that are completely bulletproof and protected by shield fields, but you may not even know it. Players who will be on their side will receive the highest living conditions, the best appearance, the best clothes, the best houses, the best technology. For this they will have to weaken some moral principles. After all, you shouldn’t tell anyone that mutants appeared partly because of them, and William Afton are nothing compared to their individual research department into new technologies. When I dreamed about the corporation's branches, I definitely saw Lola Konradt from Dead Island 2. But it's okay, the corporation values its assets, and if you become too kind, you'll become the face of a new charity advertising campaign, and help in other ways. This corporation is rather lawful-neutral, and really protects the city from mutants and anomalies who want to destroy them. They're like Agents of SHIELD, but much more morally ambiguous like the Deus Ex story. They try to maintain a perfect reputation, but they do not hide their affairs, and people do not like them. Their agent for this area is a guy with the face of Norman Reedus, and his behavior and clothes look like Chris Redfield from Resident Evil 8.

"Consequences" - Let the narrator path, who saw. It tells about events that began due to the successful or unsuccessful operations of the Vigilantes and The Shining. The narration comes from the perspective of a young man Nikz, or a young girl Alixa - Once upon a time they appear as Charlie, story curator. And for convenience I will call them that. (My POV). They are the same character, who can change their gender. This is due to their anomaly, that they were born as related twins at the same different point in time. Therefore, they can switch between alternate timelines. For the sake of the plot, they have a ability for predicting trouble. And for gameplay and they serve as Curator name Charlie for the story, as in the Dark Pictures.

In my dream I saw part of the Dark Path. Where the The Shining celebrated a successful operation, and it was a charity reception for the elite. On this path, "Reedus" accidentally encounters the woman he loved in his youth. She has changed a lot and is going through a difficult time. So he invites her to the event. She comes, but with her child, who turns out to be Charlie. Reedus gives Charlie his phone number, so they can call in case of emergency. During the event, the head of the mafia, a completely robotic man with a face Tony Pankhurst, begins to blackmail people and extort money from them, threatening to kill all on this place. Security services try to stop him, and Charlie indirectly becomes the culprit that "Tony" falling from the roof. But he does not die and escapes to his base.

The next part of the plot is divided into three parts. The Vigilante side, they must infiltrate the Mafia Base, collect evidence on illegal cases, and bring out ordinary people. And do it faster than the TSC appears. TSC side, they must infiltrate the Mafia Base and kill the Head "Tony". Side of Consequences, Charlie and his friend go to the Dock Warehouse to find something about his friend's father, who worked there. They don't know that this is a former Mafia Base. They find a recording in which the father says that he loves his son, that's why they think he died. But they don’t have time to find more clicks and run away, because a mysterious person arrives at the base on a motorcycle. Leaving the Base and entering a populated area, they suddenly see the Mafia Head on the street. He very sparkling and disoriented. Charlie call "Reedus" and say that our mutual friend has resurrected, and it seems you should improve your relationship.

According to one of the forks, the Vigilantes can warn the Head of the Mafia about the attack of TSC, he will escape and they will receive a large monetary reward.

This is where the dream ended. I’m somewhat disorientated now and I can’t even remember anything similar that I could see. But it really felt like Friendly Spider-Man with a little bit of Batman in the world of kind of Deus Ex.
