I think Kojima is trying to tell us we live in a society. He referred to the ludens as being Us but evolved & ludens are the players. He's saying gamers rise. Us gamers need to rise and become ludens. The death stranding world is supposed to represent a society where gamers are the outcast & most oppressed group of people, it's a mirror reality to our own world. I know I am, I think we should talk more about it since it's the only one with a build up that started in season 1, very well done over the years and even more amazing this season. Imo their brotherhood is beating at times even the Rick/Michonne friendship from the comics since Daryl is the embodiment of what impact Rick Grimes had on people, turning Daryl from the man he was before the apocalypse into who he is now, a storyline even more meaningful now that Carl is dead and Rick is about the exit the show. For me at least it's the most important remaining storyline due to it's history. It's even more heartbroken considering that they shared a brotherhood inside and outside the show in 9 seasons.

The next episodes will have a huge pay off for their dynamic just like Reedus teased and I can't wait for it, I predict a stelar performance from Andy and Norman. It would be a shame to not use Daryl as the one who puts down Rick if he's gonna die. Michonne should be spared of that pain now that she will lead Alexandria and have a baby but Daryl is perfect for that. Having a full circle from when Rick aimed the gun on Daryl's head in S1 to Daryl having to put down Rick with his own revolver ending it with "I love you too brother" (as a connection from 4.16).

I would like to put a summary of their relationship. What was your favorite moment between Rick & Daryl and how do you think it's gonna end for them?

Season 1: basically everything related to them when they were together on screen.

Season 2: Daryl slowly building up Rick's trust for being one of the only one who wanted to search for Sophia until the last moment, Daryl telling Rick that he doesn't see them fighting at the side of the road and when he backed up Rick in the finale when even his family was questioning his decisions.

Season 3: Daryl being the first one who took care of Judith while Rick was crazy and later returning to him leaving behind his own brother for his new surrogate family. Also Daryl trying to show to Rick that giving Michonne to the Governor would destroy their morality.

Season 4: Daryl trying to uplift Rick's spirit after the flu victims and in the finale when Daryl wanted to sacrifice himself to the Claimers for Rick, Carl and Michonne's safety leading to Rick saying that he will be his brother from now on.

Season 5: Daryl saying in Deanna's interview that the reason why he's there is because Carl and Judith deserves to have a home showing his love to Rick's family and Daryl accepting Rick's offer to be opened with the people from Alexandria (Aaron & Eric).

Season 6: them switching up their ideologies about people with each other's in 6.01/6.10.

Season 7: Daryl not accepting to become of Negan's goons and returning to Rick despite what he experienced at Sanctuary with his revolver as a Call to Arms.

Season 8: them fighting back to back during the war and with each other, also the graves scene from 8.12.

Season 9: once again everything related to their scenes due to their amazing performances and the great writing of Angela Kang.

Alright so I haven't played a Kojima game sense probably phantom pain. And this game I'm really interested in because it seems to speak to me on a number of levels. It's obviously a Sci-Fi game and obviously also it's meant to be a horror game. However I'm not entirely sure if it's meant to be more physical horror or psychological horror. Now from what we have been able to glean from what few bits of information that have been released it seems that whenever the player character is killed in this world there's some kind of nuclear style explosion. And that these infants that are located in those artificial womb type things are apparently some kind of Safeguard to this. However the one thing that I've been wondering is why exactly is the character played by Norman Reedus doing what he's doing? I mean the few gameplay videos that we have seen make him out to be some kind of Courier. But why? It's quite obvious that regardless of whatever it is he's carrying he seems to carry whatever people want with little to no questions. After all in one video we are shown that he is carrying large amounts of cargo and then another shot in the video he appears to be hauling a body. I'm definitely curious as to why he does what he does and of course also curious as to what exactly happened to the world itself and why it is the way it is in the game. I'm also curious to see on what will be possible for our character to do and what won't. Will we have a way to defend ourselves from these otherworldly entities that we are trying to hide from? Will we simply have to rely on stealth? What about this gentleman with the skull shaped helmet. What is his motivation for what he's doing? Or what about the woman that we see in one of the other sequences who goes upon to eat what I swear I thought was a fetus. So many questions that will hopefully be answered when this game is released. However for me the biggest question is when are we going to get it? I'm certainly hoping that this game doesn't pull a cyberpunk 2077 and just disappear off of the collective radar for a couple of years.

If you're not aware, Masters of Horror aired on Showtime between 2005 and 2007 and was the brainchild of terrible horror director but all-around awesome guy, Mick Garris. Garris rounded up all of the legendary horror directors (Dante, Landis, Romero, Hooper, Carpenter, del Toro, Argento, etc.) to each direct a one-hour stand alone horror film. The results were two 13-episode seasons with some real standouts.

My favorite is Carpenter's "Cigarette Burns" (s01e08), starring Norman Reedus as a private film detective (or something) tasked to locate a mysterious lost film, "La Fin Absolue du Monde," which purportedly drove its audience violently insane at its initial screening. It's a great reflection on the notion of lost films and the sometimes-cultish nature of horror fandom. Can't recommend highly enough.

“I walked. I could do nothing but walk.”: what do we do as Sam in DS? We walk, apparently. A good portion of the SILENT trailer was literally just Sam walking and walking and walking… he could do nothing but walk.

“And then, I saw me walking in front of myself. But it wasn't really me.”: Do you happen to remember Norman Reedus’ comments about what Kojima told him? That us, the players, would not only play as Sam but that we would become him. And by playing Death Stranding, a game played from a third-person perspective, you would be seeing “yourself” walking in front of you. But it isn’t really you.

“Watch out. The gap in the door... it's a separate reality. The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?”: In my opinion, this can be interpreted in two ways.

1. The first being the idea of travelling to alternate dimensions/universes, which we know for a fact is one of the biggest themes in the Silent Hill series (the Otherworld is an alternate dimension). In the second DS trailer, we can interpret that Mads seems to be travelling through time and dimensions, evident through the difference in his and the skeleton soldiers' equipment and weapons. Also, notice the red flashing lights in the same scene, which seem to be an indicator of travelling across universes in both P.T. and DS. Similarly, in P.T., once the lighting in the hallway starts flashing red, it indicates to the player that we’ve been transported to the Otherworld.
2. Another way it could be interpreted is if we consider the online component in DS. Some people have theorized that we will be playing as a “chiral” version of Sam in DS, with our versions having an effect on other player’s Sams. We could see marks from other players as handprints or footprints in our own gameplay. It’s also worth noting that handprints seem to be present in both the Silent Hills concept trailer and in P.T. as well.

I just come here to visit once in a while, I'm not even subbed. But sometimes I want to check how things are developing.

This guy keeps appearing in news all over the world. For me is the only thing left interesting about "The Pain" we all feel (apart from a Nuclear Disarmament impossible to achieve due to cheaters and bugs).

In an effort to complete my Del Toro education, I had my first viewing of GDT's first English-Language film Mimic. Mimic is the follow up to Del Toro's Spanish-Language debut Cronos, which used similar themes of insects, evolution and mankind trying to get the best of nature. Where Cronos's small scale and genre flourishes work to its advantage, Mimic feels like a studio film obsessed with (and ruined by) adherence to convention.

The film starts strongly with the introduction of a romantically involved entomologist couple, an autistic boy and a pistachio chewing Josh Brolin involved in a plot where evolved super-bugs risk taking over New York. The opening is filled with little character notes (like a Chinese cop translating a hysterical old woman's ramblings) and beautiful set designs (a long hallway filled with quarantined children in bed) that have come to be Del Toro's trademarks.

As the movie builds towards a resolution, however, it trades out these interesting sets and characters for more generic and unlikeable 90s stock. You have the bad-attitude bucktooth children, the punk rock water sanitation worker (an early Norman Reedus role) a generic Italian shoeshiner (Giancarlo Giannini channeling Super Mario), a "had enough of this shit" cop and the short-tempered piano-playing bug-detective husband walking through poorly lit sewers and tunnels in an effort to blow up all the bugs and kill the remaining fertile male.

Overall I found Mimic to be a very poor movie by a director showing a lot of potential. The scares never land and the interesting set up is completely wasted, but the potential was clearly there early GDT. I consider Mimic his worst film for this reason, just beaten out by the languishing Crimson Peak.
