So after looking at this piece of promotional artwork for Death Stranding it got me thinking more about the potential direction that Death Stranding's story will take.
Based on this piece of artwork, and all the discussion I've seen in this subreddit about inter-dimensional theories, I'm thinking that the story of Death Stranding may take place across multiple timelines, with a maximum of 5 different endings depending on the players actions in the game, and that the various different timelines may intersect with one another as is depicted with the image of the spiders web and the various "strands" of the web crossing over into other strands of the web.
some other ideas i got from looking at this image; what if the 5 main strands are representative of the number of playable characters in the game? one for Norman, one for Mads, one for Guillermo, and perhaps the other two to the speculated female character, and perhaps another character we haven't seen yet.
One last idea; what if the image of the spiders web is a analogy for the online realm? Norman Reedus did mention that the game will make use of aspects of social media, so what if this web is an analogy for the world wide web, and how we as a species interactive with this technology.
