After Survive, the last Death Stranding trailer makes a lot more sense-UNR

Notice how Reedus character is in fog filled dimension similar to that in Metal Gear Survive. Remember Reedus was originally supposed to be in the "cancelled" Silent Hills remake alongside Del Toro. Had we gotten this game we would've played Reedus traveling through a fog filled world fighting monsters, similar to Survive and Death Stranding.

Aside from these similarities I also noticed similarities between Survive, Death Stranding and Dark Souls. In Survive, you level up your character, weapons and armor using a type of currency you get from defeating enemies and features a stamina bar and similar stats as found in Dark Souls. Also, (perhaps the most telling) when you die, you can retrieve what you lost from death by revisiting the place where you died before you die again.

The reason I bring this up is because Kojima has stated that Death Stranding has a concept that makes death a part of the game. To those who may be unaware, dying as a game mechanic was first created in Demons Souls/Dark Souls. There is also another interview where Reedus describes the "social media" aspect of the game, in which you connect with other players. He doesn't go too much in depth but it sounds a lot like another mechanic found in the Souls games. In Souls, you can summon other players into your single player campaign to help you out, or you can be summoned to other players campaigns and you can help them out. You can also invade their world and slay them.

It sounds to me like Kojima has taken a major influence form Demons Souls/Dark Souls and its beginning to show in his games, revealing his connection to Survive through its influence and now Death Stranding. If there's any other connections are yet to be seen, but Kojima has mentioned DS might be a type of RPG game.

I speculate that Survive is the set up to Death Stranding. Death stranding looks to be set in the past and future so most likely has something to do with time travel and will probably include survival horror elements. You will be able to level up your character and gear, you will be able to heal yourself like Survive and Snake Eater, and you may also have to eat, drink and watch your stamina. You may also be able to teleport into other players campaigns and vice versa. The story will be that a top secret paramilitary group deep within the government has perfected the wormhole technology and use it to send you to other worlds and time periods. I may or may not be wrong on these predictions but its fun to speculate.

Again, this is just speculation....
