Theory about the hands and the babies-UNR

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The hand shaped depressions appear to be the end points of the feelers or strands you see branching out of the towering figure's arms. Which would make sense since the arms don't end in a hand but in multiple tendrils. Since the figure doesn't appear to have any eyes, maybe this is the primary way these entities detect other beings.

Also, the fact that there are tiny hand prints inside Norman Reedus appears to suggest that babies are the infants of these entities, and they use human beings as incubators to help the babies grow into adults (a bit like the mindflayer incubating the demo-dog inside Will in Stranger Things). This is also shown by the fact that in trailer 1 the baby disappears in black oil when Reedus is holding it, and then the tiny hand prints appear over his leg.

Which means that the baby (which is actually a parasite) was placed inside Reedus when he falls through the black oil (we know he's in the black oil because we also see their buggy floating in there, which had earlier fallen into the oil, and he coughs up the oil later at the beach). This also explains the c-section scar on Norman's stomach, presumably from cutting the parasite out, and the interesting fact that the guy who turns upside down stabs himself repeatedly in the stomach, perhaps to stop being incubated with the parasite.

So humans appear to be affected by the entities in two ways- if they are heavily injured then their life force is consumed by the entities, aging them and turning them into the zombie-like skeletal soldiers we see in Trailer 2 with Mads Mikkelsen, and if they are healthy they are incubated with the parasite.

Also, the powers of the entities appear to be electro-magnetic in nature, as the white blast from the figure in trailer 3 appears to be an EMP-like blast, and in trailer 2, when Mads Mikkelsen uses his powers, the compass on his vest goes crazy. Also, the babies can power electronic machinery (like the spiral detectors, which, interestingly enough, also have five fingers, like the hands)

This would further lead us to assume that humans have captured these babies and are using them to help detect the entities, and maybe also experimenting on them to find a way to overcome the entities.

Of course, all of this is speculation, so fire away with your thoughts. The only thing I'm unable to explain is Norman Reedus holding the baby and crying in trailer 1. Thoughts?
