I am positively the worst steath player ever, how does one actually improve?-UNR

Hello everyone, first post :).

TL;DR

I suck at games in general and stealth primordially, WHat are your best tips for someone to whom practice is so far useless because he doesn't even understand what he should be improving? First milestone is to be able to clear a MULE camp in Death stranding undetected, any knowledge you share translates to universally useful info. Thanks!

I am becoming more and more raptured by Kojima's works in general, made an essay on V and currently have lost any semblance of social life analyzing and obsessively finding meaning in the recurrent symbolisms of Death Stranding. However, I thought I was decent at stealth as The Pahntom Pain came to a close, I became incredibly effective and almost made it through the game with zero kills (yeah, yeah I know:/). However, as I tackled for the first time, Subsistence missions and tried to S rank or even complete every objective in some others, I realized just how much I suck at stealth and how little I understand of it for practice to actually make me improve beyond the circumstancial knowledge of memorizing guard patrols, which doesn't translate to any abstract applicable skill, so I decided to make my runs against enemies in DT as MGS as possible but that game despite being far easier doesn't hold any hands and "oh shit that's 12 armed men shooting at a norman reedus carrying a fetus". Instead of cheesing them I would love to have fun with them and experiment since it is definitely possible but I can't for the life of me sneak up on them, and from what I saw on youtube you can really mess with the deliberately less competent AI, they spot you from a mile away from the front but you can hit them from the back and turn around as they do having them clearly see you and they won't spot you. Evidently I only saw that, only managed to do it once. However as you can see, they have no detection capacity beyond their basic cone really.

Can you wonderful masochists give me your best stips on how to do things on the sly? ANy mgs tips will translate to valuable knowledge in any game really, Thank you so much!
