ELI5: Why do made up words sound funny?-UNR

I'm talking about stuff like Scrimmy Bingus and the Crungy Spingus, or Norman Reedus and his funky fetus, or similarly, his son Mingus Reedus.

I notice a lot of them end in -ngus. Any linguistics folks know what's up with that?
