Am I the only one who noticed the uptick in crossbows in zombie media only AFTER Daryl appeared in TWD?
I've seen some fans point this out, but then others roll their eyes and push back saying that crossbows are a logical choice of weapon in an apocalypse, so obviously they'd be included in other zombie media. But like I said, I never really saw crossbows (if at all) in zombie media before Daryl showed up.
After Daryl showed up, all of a sudden Robert Kirkman created Dwight in the comics with a crossbow (fun fact; Norman Reedus revealed that 'Dwight' was the original name for Daryl in S1 scripts, which confirms to me that Kirkman made comic Dwight as a homage), TWD Telltale suddenly had characters with crossbows, Ada Wong got a crossbow in Resident Evil 6, Days Gone's main character wielded a crossbow on top of resembling Daryl, The Last of Us, Dying Light, Dead Island, COD, etc, etc.
Just something I noticed looking at the timeline of TWD and other games/zombie media post-2010.
