Now that the whistle has been blown, I’d figure it’d be the right time to list some of the discoveries I’ve made when I first started researching into this thing.
Archillect (Archive + Intellect)
“Archillect (or artificial intelligence, depending on the point of view) made to find and share inspiring visuals over social media channels. She is a living inspiration archive. She is a digital muse.”
So, according to the main website, her goal (yes, Archillect is a “she”) is to crawl the internet, select and then share with her followers the pieces of media that suit her tastes. She’s a neural network that scrapes through beautiful or evocative imagery (sometimes, with a little bit of help.)
Let's look at the most common topics that the "AI" deals with:
Now, keep in mind that there are way better examples than the ones I showcased, but this were all taken from posts made today. The memes have been recurring for years now, probably inspiring many artists and creators in the process. And yet, they somehow make me think that these are the topics that go through Hideo Kojima's head during most if his day. The “creator” of this system is the internet person that goes by the name of Murat Pak.
Who is Murat Pak?
Murat Pak is the face(less) behind all of these twitter bots.
- The titular Archillect, an image curator.
- Meta Prophet, a bot for sharing sentences, that come from movies and other media.
- A type of choose your own adventure kinda game called Micromoira
- Machinu. This one hasn’t been activated yet, but from the rank of its DNS, it seems to be a crucial one.
By looking at his twitter profile, we can see a couple of peculiarities, he describes himself as The Nothing, his avatar is a big O or a circle, or a Zero.
"A world of electronic intelligence built on codes. And at a center of it all, a zero..." - Kaz (MGS: PW)
Here’s an interesting exercise. Navigate through the internet and see if you can uncover as much of a single piece of concrete physical information on Murat Pak. Not an easy thing to do, right? Except for a couple of interviews here and there, the guy is a ghost, or should I say a Phantom?
In this one in particular, conducted on Jan 18, 2017, he discloses the reasons for his low profile: https://imgur.com/a/4oyaQ
Does this viewpoint strikes any similarities to somebody else’s we know? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJVxPAiB7as&feature=youtu.be&t=124

S3 Plan (Selection for Societal Sanity)
Did you know that, according to the game's design document, MGS2 was originally gonna be called Metal Gear Solid III? Yes, a bit confusing, but that was the original intent. The name would be a reference to the three tallest buildings in Manhattan at the time, but in hindsight it’s clear that it would have also served as foreshowing of the S3 plan staged by The Patriots' AI.
The S3 plan was system designed to control the collective unconscious. It’s main task, to select and process the memes worthy of being passed on in order to further the evolution of human culture. This brings us back to Archillect’s job as a curator.
curator: a person who organizes and arranges a showing of art or other objects of interest
If you hadn’t noticed already, here’s a link to Archillect’s Logo
Why?
In an interview in which he revealed some of the aspects of Death Stranding, Norman Reedus stated that the game will feature elements of Social Media. What he means by that could be anything, but this whole thing would very much fit the mold. Quote by Reedus
Considering that Archillect has been active since as far as 2014, and Pak’s account has existed since 2011, you can imagine that the scale of this scenario would be unprecedented, yes; but consider this, if you were to have Hideo Kojima as the Puppet-Master of an ARG, would you expect any less?
Another exercise: see if you can find VIPs followed by Pak and/or that Pak follows.
Oh, by the way, the server that hosts undream.net (Archillect's webpage) is located in Amsterdam.
Shout-outs to /r/DidSomebodySayFIB and /r/TargetWatch for helping with the research and /r/IamthebossZer0 for making that awesome video.
