It is unbelievable how many emotions this game has dragged me through. The first one was already extraordinary, but this time I am left utterly bereft of words. The ending tore me apart, even as I adored every second of it. I cannot remember the last time a game moved me this deeply; perhaps not since Metal Gear Solid 3 when I was a teenager.
The performances are nothing short of breathtaking – Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Troy Baker, and the entire cast. The way the game confronts grief and death struck painfully close to home for me, as someone who has lost a dearly beloved soul. I come away from it with the uncanny feeling that I am no longer quite the same person as the one who pressed “Start.”
