Game just doesn't want to progress past this cutscene where Jacob needs to find Dani in his crashed ship. He sees her prying a crate open in a room and when the player makes contact with the doorway (probably a cutscene "barrier" or "checkpoint"), it just freezes then proceeds to crash, and at rare times the cutscene continues to play for around 2 - 3 seconds before crashing to desktop. The crash does not give any error messages, it just goes straight to desktop.
This is the room where Dani is inside in Jacob's ship:
Solutions attempted:
- Lowering graphics from high to lowest as possible.
- Turning off FSR.
- Turning off Motion Blur and Film Grain.
- Using both DirectX12 and 11 at different times.
- Restarting PC.
- Lowering resolution to lowest as possible.
- Turning off in-game audio.
- Turning my back and going into the room to trigger the cutscene.
- Heading straight to her without looting.
- Switching Display modes (Fullscreen, Borderless, Windowed).
- Updating Graphics drivers to latest (via Nvidia Geforce Experience).
- Installing TCP - Fixes and Improvements mod from Nexus Mods.
- Immediately pausing the game when cutscene triggers (still crashes while in Pause).
Stuff to mention:
I haven't tried skipping the cutscene because the situation where it would allow me enough time to do so rarely happens. I also tried to just skip the part by using someone else's save data in hopes of avoiding the bugged cutscene but the problem was it just got stuck in the loading screen while trying to load the imported save data.
One last thing, I also installed Norman Reedus' model to replace Jacob and played until now, this issue.
