So at the end of episode 6 we get the commentary thingy. In that commentary Norman Reedus says that it’s just the two of em again at the end of the season, but then Melissa McBride said that she’s excited to see what challenges they face after the Chunnel. So is there another episode or are we gettin a season 3?

Norman Reedus as John Connor-UNR
Everybody knows how great an action star Norman Reedus is, and he would be a convincing choice to play an older John Connor. There’s even a resemblance to the actors from "Terminator 2." If John Connor starred in an action movie, it would feature him as the hero, focusing on thrilling action sequences rather than drama. Think along the lines of "Die Hard"—full of excitement and zero crying. This movie would revolve around John Connor's prophetic role in destroying Skynet.
Without the objective of saving John Connor, time travel becomes meaningless. So, in this scenario, John Connor dies, and it falls to his mother and a Terminator to save him again. The prophecy cannot be fulfilled without him. They embark on another time travel mission to rescue John Connor.
As the story unfolds, John Connor grows up (played by Norman Reedus) and ultimately stops Skynet.

Preferably someone my age, bit older (If you are 54 and ure not Norman Reedus don't even try), preferably not younger tho. ♡

Talking Thread with Chris Hardwick-UNR
Phantom Thread broken into a 5 ep miniseries with each episode ending with a Chris Hardwick led chat featuring your favorite actors from the film Norman Reedus (my personal favorite actor in the film Norman Reedus is not Norman Reedus it is Reince Preebus, nomineee for the Golden Globes fourth time in a row@)
10/10 but the first ten is ten points whereas the second ten is 10 five points so actually not a very good rating at all, had to use the restroom halfway through the first episode
What do you think would have been the story of Silent Hills?-UNR
Judging from both PT and the concept trailer. Though Kojima IIRC said that the story in PT wasn't related to what Silent Hills would become, I still think some ideas were considered - like what the Paper Bag tells about seeing other versions of yourself, hence the name Silent HillS. Maybe Norman Reedus' character would be a next evolution of the concepts in SH2 and SH4 The Room and we would access the "Silent Hills" (aka Fogworlds/Otherworlds) of other people?
A monster seen in the concept trailer for Silent Hills also appears in the data for PT, which is odd, but maybe it was originally going to be the enemy instead of Lisa.
What do you think?
So happy to see Dareel still remembers his husbarnd! 😁-UNR

What would your dream cast be for a red dead movie-UNR
I was thinking the other day, I’d love to see Sam Elliot as Landon, and (hear me out) Brad Pitt as Dutch, for John? Idk tbh I love Rob and the closest I’d think of is either Matt Damon or maybe just maybe Norman Reedus
I didn't get the feeling...-UNR
So Daryl and Isabelle kissed, but on his part, it seems it was just that, an experiment kiss. "Je t'aime" she told him,and he was like: 😶
~"I thought it was an experiment, It was: 'What is this?' It wasn't a 'This is it!' don't think there was an intention to get to second base. I thought it was more of scarily parting these curtains to look at the idea of it."~ Norman Reedus said.
It's obvious that he really cared about her but I personally didn't notice that he ever got to really fall hard for and love her. Even the days after her death (sad at first, obviously) he seemed to act almost as if nothing had happened. I don't know...that 2 episode relationship was very strange (and cringe, lol) Maybe next season he'll find another random woman to have a 2 episode relationship in Spain!

[TOMT] actor with dirty blonde hair trailer park vibe 30’s-40’s-UNR
It’s a white male actor with a kind of “dirty” “trailer park” “biker” vibe. He’s 30’s-40’s and I’m pretty sure played an ab*sive boyfriend in a show. Looks similar to Nick Robinson in the maid, kind of a Norman Reedus vibe with longer dirty blonde hair. Kind of like the trailer park version of Glenn Powell. I can’t remember anything he’s been in though but I’ve seen him often as a side character or a bad boyfriend.
Beth & Daryl // THIS IS NOT A BETHYL SHIP POST, EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE-UNR
I don't know who to talk this with, and many of the post about this are archived and I can't comment on them, so here it goes...
I have been watching TWD since 2022, I haven't seen TWD: Daryl Dixon, but I'm in the fandom, in Tumblr and on Tiktok.
When I watched the show for the first time, of course I saw the season 4's chapters with Daryl & Beth running from the prison together and I wanted to think it was platonic, I didn't find anything else by the actors that said otherwise, so I was comfortable thinking it was platonic. I take it that scene when she asked him "what changed?" when they were in the funeral home was a bit tense, but then I thought, there is no way this is romantic, Norman is a sensitive person and so are the creators, and I was comfortable with that.
That Daryl saw Beth as someone he needed to protect, he had done it before, and after (Judith, Lydia)
And fast forwards to two years, recently, I saw a BTS scene of Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride talking about the show, in a "behind the scenes" section they did for their New Show, TWD: Daryl Dixon "The book of Carol", and in it, Norman talked about the relationship with Beth, and it was so Creepy, he basically confirmed that it was romantic, that they were talking about "girlfriend and boyfriend" things, but they played it like miscommunication between the two. (couldn't find the clip on youtube)
And now I'm completely creeped out
We are talking about a BARELY eighteen year old girl, one that was really immature, sheltered all her life by her extremely religious father, and the fact she lived on a farm and all.
And now I'm so creeped out, by Norman, it's so weird, I feel betrayed or something.
Please, someone out there, tell me I'm not cray cray
Is anybody else weirded out by the couple?

Do the similarities of the ocean and amniotic fluid come up at all? I thought the tar could be meconium, going by the ties to life and death and the ocean and beach / land. Also DOOMs tears, but searching brought up tears in the amniotic sac.-UNR
I have been playing 22 hours now (but had plot elements and twists spoilt although I don't mind usually) , and have some questions that don't really work in a post format, but I think I can sum these up enough to ask.
So I know the liquid is apparently tar, but I'm not the only person who thought it could be meconium, a baby's first poop that's dangerous if done in vitro and is known to be tar like and sticky. It comes from the baby ingesting things before it's born, and since the ocean and amniotic fluid is known to be really really similar, I think it makes sense that it's actually meconium with all of the links to the two that DS has.
Also, I guess that also backs up that BTs don't actually "eat" people as the game says, since if it is "tar" they don't have anything in there (I guess except for the BTs coming out of it to grab ya).
Like I said, meconium in the amniotic fluid can be dangerous because it can be ingested, but afaik there no tar in the Seam which is much more sea like and therefore womb like, and not have distress which would cause it.
Perhaps that's something they didn't want in the release in case it spawned a lot more "wtf?" than they wanted in trying to make the most of the release, especially post PT gaining a sizable audience for Guillermo de Torro and Norman Reedus?
I really think Lou will be more present in DS2 gameplay -UNR
Had a dream about watching a Monty Pythonesque movie.-UNR
The movie was on Netflix and it was only 25 minutes long.
It starts with Norman Reedus in an office and he's in big trouble for doing something(which the whole movie was about what he did).
We jump back in time and it says 30 years earlier in text on screen.
Suddenly Norman Reedus' character is now Brad Pitt, as if Brad Pitt looks 30 years younger, which even in the dream I thought that was supposed to be some sort of joke.
And while I don't know what the movie was about since it was a dream, there were some key moments that I find to be hilarious.
One scene had a group of people being charged at by a knight, except the helmet was made to look like Donkey from Shrek.
There was also a scene that was near the end of the movie which had Greta Thunberg running around really fast in some action scene.
When reporters came and interviewed her, she was played by someone with down syndrome, which I thought was fucking hilarious.
It then ended with the first scene playing again.
It was very Monty Pythonesque and it was hilarious. Wish I remembered more detail about it.

Does anyone know a clip where Conan and Andy do that narrow eyed stare back and forth?-UNR
I have no context, except that I can clearly picture Conan and Andy each taking a turn narrowing their eyes and looking back and forth suspiciously. There might be voiceover while they're doing it. I can't find it for the life of me.
Edit: I found it! I was so convinced it was with Bryan Cranston but it was a Norman Reedus clip instead!

I Saw Durl Dixon in Paris-UNR
My wife and I were having a miserable day as it poured down rain on our last day in Paris about a week ago. We were waiting for a bus to take us to Musée d’Orsay when I just happened to glance up from my Google Maps directions to see Norman Reedus riding by on a black electric bike. It wasn’t much, but getting that glimpse of him was pretty cool and made the day just a little bit better.
Did you think Kojima scanned Norman Reedus' ass for the naked scenes?-UNR

Mimic: Guillermo del Tober #2-UNR
Hello again and welcome back to the second installment in Guillermo del Tober, an attempt to watch through Guillermo del Toro's filmography before the end of October. Am I behind schedule already? Possibly, but what's the fun in a deadline if you don't procrastinate and cause yourself unnecessary stress down the road?
Todays watch was 1997's Mimic, starring Mira Sorvino as entomologist Susan Tyler, and Jeremy Northam as the CDC's Dr. Peter Mann. It also has a eyebrow raising supporting cast of Charles S. Dutton, Giancarlo Giannini, Josh Brolin, F. Murray Abraham, hell it even has a single scene appearance from Norman Reedus. Mimic appears to make a lot of sense from the outside looking in, a sci-fi horror that pays homage to Hollywood classic giant insect movies, and has obvious influences from 80's and 90's mid budget financial explosions that leaned into their genre and grunge of the time, like Alien and Seven. It's a hard R horror movie being lead by a young new director, and also a credited writer on the film, who has proven they can make a successful project for a small cost.
The cracks in the surface begin to appear when Miramax, the studio behind the production starts getting involved. Based again on the guide on del Toro's career written by Ian Nathan (which is unofficial and unauthorized) it sounds like Robert Weinstein pretty much focused most of his daily efforts into beating directors the studio hired into submission to force out the movie he thought would turn the best profit. If Nathan is to be believed, del Toro struggled massively in making this film, basically rejecting it aside from the lessons he learned from it. From freezing cold shoots in a Toronto winter, to the seemingly daily calls from Weinstein about how awful this movie was, it's easy to see where the behind scenes confrontations leaked into the final product and the movie we have today.
After completing my watch of Mimic, my immediate thought was simply that the script does not function to achieve what it sets out to do. The movie opens with a lingering prologue of how a disease is killing children across the world, being carried by cockroaches, so Susan Tyler and Peter Mann work together to create a new breed of roaches to sterilize and wipe out the infection. Three years later, the children are alive and well, but the new species of roaches has survived and are evolving at an alarming rate. These new insects largest threat being humanity, they have evolved to mimic human kind, growing to human size and developing ways to appear human-ish. By its conclusion, the threads are lost and the movie turns into an attempt at Aliens or other sci-fi grim slashers. It felt held down by the to-do it gives us to check off, but then turns into a mad scramble in its third act that doesn't tie much of it together.
The usage of New York City as a backdrop for a story built around silent threats among crowded streets, never knowing how close you really are to the roach infested underside, and even about how vulnerability is so easily abused in an environment where the helpless are ignored, it's a perfect backdrop. But unfortunately, the realization of NYC here is a single subway station (which has an announcement that it is closing for the night in a scene?) and some endlessly rainy city streets. The city feels remarkably close to the city in David Fincher's Seven from two years prior, which took great lengths to always have rain and gray skies through almost the entire movie, and achieves its immersion more than this film. It's not out of place in del Toro's hands, but it feels staunchly opposed to the underground half of the city that is built out with an entire different atmosphere. The underworld is labyrinthian (an idea del Toro becomes pretty familiar with) and ancient feeling in a way that not a single thing above the ground does. I see a world where this divide could have benefitted the movie, but it instead does more to bring the transitions from one level to the next to a halt.
My most unfortunate takeaway after going back and forth on it for a while is truly just that I don't like the cockroach look. The initial silhouette in the shadows was a very effective image, but once we see the man-sized roaches on full display (in the now conveniently closed subway station) and Tyler breaks down that they really are just big bugs that have barely scratched the surface of mimicking mankind, I felt myself deflate. I was hoping for a more impactful revelation, some answer to how the roaches bred despite the design to die off quickly, did the tapping from the child communicate with the bugs (I do not have the knowledge to dive into how the child presented to be on the spectrum is handled in this movie, but I feel safe saying it's not great,) what was the deal with Chekhov's pregnancy's test, truly anything. But really just the whole design doesn't appeal much. They're giant cockroaches with mandibles that form a human mask, seen in a mix of practical and digital effects. I do have to wonder if the digital element was a limiter on the monster design, it was still 97. I'm also just not a big bug enthusiast as it is, so my feelings are admittedly bias.
In the end, Mimic is a 2/5 for me. It stands on its own legs as a fine 90's monster movie with a stacked cast by todays standards, and just comes short on delivering what I usually expect from del Toro's catalog. I think it's also fair to say, the Weinstein's were menaces to their environments from all reports, and their negative effects are felt in many productions they were involved in. The podcast Blank Check has a running theory on studio director development, and it tracks the pattern of young up and coming directors finding success and then being brought onto large studio productions, only to become overwhelmed and shoved around by execs. This turns out to be a formative experience, a real trial by fire, for many modern directors who go on to learn from the studio model and take what they need for their future projects, and del Toro follows suit. He follows Mimic with The Devil's Backbone in 2001, which I've heard great things about and look forward to checking out for the first time!
If I'm all wrong about Mimic, please let me know. I would love to have my mind changed on a potential rewatch in the future.

S2E2 Funny things I noticed -UNR
During the scene where Daryl is teaching Laurent to play baseball, right after Isabelle joins and Laurent gets a hit, Daryl cheers in excitement, "Woohoo! That's what I'm talkin' about!" and it's in a pure Norman Reedus California-boy accent. Daryl's lower/more grumbly/southern accent is COMPLETELY gone for like a solid minute here. Can you think of any other instances where this stuck out to you for Daryl? In the conversation immediately after this with just Isabelle, he gets back to the regular Daryl sound. I watched the "after show" where they talk about how loose this scene was, that a lot of it was was adlibbed due to the nature of what they were doing and that they were having a lot of fun filming it, and now it makes total sense.
I know in the main show, we've heard a ton about the English actor's accents slipping through (notably Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan, and Lennie James) and also a lot of commentary on their various versions of a southern accent in general, but I also find the American actor's southern accents interesting too. Side note, something I've always found funny is how thick Melissa McBride sometimes puts on a southern accent for Carol (mostly in the early seasons) and how non-existent it is now except for an occasional word, but I digress.
Other things I noticed from this episode that just made me go "huh?": Are we to think that Daryl wears suspenders to sleep now? When he came out to look for Laurent in the morning after he heard Isabelle screaming, he's wearing a tank top with suspenders and pajama pants and I really found that pretty funny. Or is it common for people that wear suspenders to wear them to bed and I'm just not aware of it? Or maybe he took a minute to put them on before he came running out. Either way it was funny to see redneck Daryl Dixon in pajamas and suspenders.
In the scene where Carol leaves Ash with the plane and is walking in the field towards the city, there is immediately a little creek right in front of her. I just find stuff like this so funny because this show (and almost all other shows like it) will depict her getting across all manner of terrain with ease, when in reality it would be SUCH a pain the ass to traverse and take so long, especially when it's completely foreign to you. But here they immediately cut to her in the city, dry as a bone, nary a hair out of place nor a bead of sweat. I mean, I know, suspension of disbelief is crucial to our enjoyment of most TV shows. I just love picking up on little details like this and wondering if I'd do them any differently if I were making this type of show.
Also.... does Ash ever get to sleep in that plane or did he just white knuckle it from the USA to Greenland to France? Or are we to believe the stopped other places?
Celebrity Voices-UNR
I got to say that Helluva Boss managed to get an impressive amount of celebrity voices in it. They even have Alex Brightman voice Fizz. I never forget Kesha voicing Beezlebub and Norman Reedus being the first voice for Striker. I also enjoy the creator of El Tigre: Jorge R. Gutierrez playing the target in the fourth Helluva Boss short. Then of course there are the upcoming celebrities revealed in the trailer: John Waters, Harvey Guillen, and Patrick Page.
Which celebrity would be the most fun to run into in the dungeon?-UNR
Please comment what you think their race and class would be in the dungeon!
I'm working on a DCC D&D game, and want to toss in a surprise celebrity at some point. Matt Dinniman and Jeff Hayes are off the table because I already have plans for them, but my next search will be any mentions of what they think they would be if tossed unceremoniously into the crawl.
I looked at the linked threads and listed everyone already mentioned, picked 6 to poll. There's some really good ideas and I wish I could just poll the whole list.

Possible Death Stranding A24 film plot....-UNR
This is just me randomly thinking, but I had the random thought and was curious if others had similar thoughts on if Death Stranding's film with A24 could focus on the start of the Death Stranding, versus the story we experience in the first game?? I'm remember reading an article some time ago that alluded to the fact we may not see the same actors, like Norman Reedus, in the film. However this made me curious if this is intentional, and Kojima is using this film as a chance to show his the event of the Death Stranding started?? Thoughts?

How do you play through the Story in one go?-UNR
Don't misunderstand me, I like the game a lot. The atmosphere, the design, mechanics and the Characters, especially Sam because I've always been a fan of Twd and Norman Reedus BUT it's so repetitive after a while to the point I can't convince myself to keep going. The main story is exciting, I loved the part on the battlefield but the parts in between take too long with too little variety. I've seen a lot of you played the game for over 200 hours so my question is how? Maybe I'm missing fun parts of the Game. I'm excited to hear what you guys like about the game.

The Krypt Keeper is BACK! Recap of Thursday's Reaction-UNR
"Alexandra Rodriguez gives Mothering advice as a mom of 3 WEEKS"
After an extended hospitalization for a "shoulder injury" then "Lyme Disease" 😉😉our favorite underdog Reaction Channel is BACK and the Krypt Keeper is looking both perkier and even more cadaverous than usual. Shhh, it's a wig (IYKYK) She's got her beauty filter CRANKed up to "Trick of Treat" and, as per ush, a stick up her ass.
We open with Alex in her immaculate and admittedly lovely "cozy fall kitchen" KK calls Alex's Snoopy Halloween t-shirt "childish and stupid" In a voice that could only have been created by a 30 year, 2-pack-a-day Winston 100's habit, Creepella sneers "Get a life Alex! No one actually lives like this. Like, seriously, get a life, get a REAL one. This is so fake, so fake, SO FAKE" (the vocal fry in this "so fake" makes me think of "Redrum, RedRuuuuum!") She emulates her idol and Kult leader Michelle by telling Alex "STFU. You are NOT cute, you're too much of a tank to be cute. You don't know the first thing about keeping it cute. You make me want to throw up" So much for "we don't hate her because she's fat" This is pretty rich coming from a woman who makes Norman Reedus pull out his crossbow when she walks by.
Alex says her mom is on the way over and that they will be going to a Fall Festival, she's happy that the weather is cool. She shows us a pretty little necklace that she ordered with Anderson's name. Skeletor isn't having it- "You're just so desperate to let everybody know that you're a Mawwwwm now, right?" and again admonishes Alex to STFU. (comment below if you bought/had a piece of jewelry, coffee mug or frame with your baby's name or the word MOM on it during the first month of your firstborn's life. I had all 3)
Now this creature launches into a long rant saying that Alex "hasn't spent any time with this baby, like zero time" and hasn't even figured out how to hold him. She has some valuable advice for Alex "you'd better get your shit together because you can tell people all day long that's you're a mom, but in the end it actually shows by your actions" Let's just take a moment to talk about Carrie's actions, shall we? This skull-in-a-wig is accusing Alex of not properly mothering her child. I want to remind everyone that old Carrie here gave us her personal history and told us herself that she was "an addict" for over 10 years and because of her addiction, she lost custody of her son when he was very young. And her husband threw her out. She's also told us that she's been "clean" for the past 8 years (coff coff 🐂💩 ) So, judging by the age her son is now, we can accurately deduce that this hagard bag of bones missed over TEN YEARS of her own son's childhood because she chose being a junkie over being a mother. Sorry, Krypt Keeper, you are TOTALLY DISQUALIFIED from judging ANY other woman's mothering. Forever.
Now Alex is in her office putting on makeup and KK has another Vocal Fry Meltdown "You did not just say girly paaawwwwwwwwp, nunununuNOOO" Another example of her parroting what the other reaction channels are saying. She wants so badly to sit at the Gorlworld Mean Gorls table. With an epic eyeroll, she skips thru the make-up segment. Now we're at the Fall Festival and Alex is showing off a container of nachos that is way too heavy on the sour cream for my (self diagnosed) lactose-intolerant ass. [Side Rant--Have you ever noticed that ALL of these Gorls are dairy addicts, especially cheese and sour cream? It can't be a coincidence] KK bitches about Alex and Nancy going straight for the food first thing. Nancy holds up a container of fresh, warm mini donuts and provokes the skag addict to go off and chastise the sugar addicts. Next we're treated to a fabulous little moment of KK mocking Alex's laughing:
So now Alex is home with Yar, they're watching Bad Monkey (love me some Vince Vaughn, love me some Carl Hiaasen) and this hag is triggered! "Why don't you go take your dog for a walk, hmm?" [Side rant- I'm triggered by those 2 clashing floor lamps- that new black lamp belongs in Perez Hilton's living room or a Jojo Siwa music video] Less than 2 minutes later Alex is...SURPRISE, talking Bruno for a walk. She has a Core Power protein drink with her which KK calls "a fatass chocolate milk" For the record, this was the first and only time I busted out laughing while watching this Reaction Video. KK goes on to bitch and says "she doesn't walk this dog- EVER" How many dozens of times have we seen Alex walk this dog in past vlogs? Last week even. "WHY can't you walk your dog? Why do you have him? Is that for the aesthetic too? You SICK person. I get what Priscilla meant by you are just so greedy. You are SO greedy. You're just GREEEEDY" [Side Note--At least Alex has managed to keep her dog alive...Alex 1, Carrie 0]
Now Alex is showing off (a somewhat tacky and probably spendy) windchime crafted from an old whiskey bottle that she picked up at the Fall Festival as a holiday gift for a family member. KK sneers "No one believes that this is actually for a family member. I don't believe that at all. I've never seen her give anything to anyone. EVUUR" Tell me, Krypt Keeper, do you adopt a needy family every year and buy them a boatload of gifts- toys, pajamas, outfits and new coats for the kids, gift cards for the parents? Did you ever give your postal carrier or trash collecter a Thank You gift card? Yeah, I thought not.
Alex talks about her first 4 weeks as a new mother and Mummy of the Year snots "Bitch, I still don't believe that you gave birth. No I do not. Not at all" Alex holds Anderson close to her and kisses his liitle head (my heart melts...just a little) and starts to explain how he likes to do Tummy Time. The Krypt Keeper viciously tears into her "That baby is WAY too young to be doing Tummy Time. They're supposed to be able to lift their heads" Well, of courses, she's WRONG again. New parents are encouraged to begin Tummy Time with their infants during their first week of life. "Fake ass bitch. You don't have a clue. You are so lost. There are so many of us out here who are mothers, I know what your bullshit is and I'm gonna call you out every time"
This bish is running on pure hatred and envy. I'm gonna call HER bullshit out every time too. Any person who had to choose between leaving their baby for an hour with Alex or with the woman who chose drugs over her toddler would choose Alex without having to think about it. NO ONE in their right mind would leave a small child with this creepshow much less take Mothering advice from it.
Cousin It has 350 subscribers and says she'll be doing a $50 gift card giveaway when she hits 500. IMO, this is more of a Tribute Channel to get her noticed by her idol Michelle. The only Reacting going on here mocking, sneering and eyerolling. The only commentary is jealous seething and telling Alex to STFU. I'm sure she can't wait for Michelle to react to this.

The thing that's keeping this show from being a 10/10 for me-UNR
I just finished the walking dead and all the spinoffs. And it's a good show it's rewatchable and I loved the first seasons but it felt like it fell off after season 8.I know people hate season 8 and I kinda don't like it too but it was good for me Rick ending the season with my mercy prevails over my wrath is good. And I hate that they killed off Carl that's the only thing I hate about season 8.Carl was the future of this show and they killed him.If Carl didn't die maybe Andrew Lincoln didn't end up leaving the show and Rick Grimes dies in the commonwealth since that what happens in the comics. we dont know since they don't follow comic deaths anymore they only followed Amy and Glenn's death,But that was only cus Steven Yeun wanted it that way.But Chandler Riggs has passion for this show I'm sure he likes the comics and they just killed him off like that and after Andrew Lincoln left the show they gave the main role for Norman Reedus who wasn't even in the source material and wasn't even supposed to exist they just loved Norman that much.I love this guy I love this character as a SIDE CHARACTER.but man Carl taking over the show could've been better.

I was 100% sure it was death stranding 2 as the dude looks like norman reedus - however I can’t find any recent trailers to confirm.. Help please I cannot sleep 🙃

Absolutely cannot decide!-UNR
My birthday is coming up and i feel like splurging on myself a little with a new game. I started with a large wishlist and have narrowed it down and am still stuck!
Alan Wake Remastered: Ive never played Alan Wake but the story seems fantastic and right up my alley. And considering it just got remastered it seems like a good time to try it out.
Until Dawn: Again, looks fantastic, but it's being remastered soon and i feel like i should wait for the remaster.
Life is Strange 1: I've played 2 and loved it, the story, the emotion, the immersion. And i have played the free episode 1 a few years back and loved it and would like to finish the story.
Cyberpunk 2077: im really leaning towards this one, though i have heard the story is fairly short and the side quests are repetitive. but i love the character creation aspect and the story seems really immersive.
Resident Evil 7: I played it when it came out and then traded it in, but my memory of it is foggy and wouldn't mind replaying for a refresh and nostalgia.
Resident Evil 3: Ive played the OG 4 and then 2 Remake, so it just makes sense i should play the 3rd, im not dying to play this one, but just something to add to my collection.
L.A. Noire: A bit of an oldie, i know, but i've played Mafia games and loved those stories, and i love Rockstars gameplay aspects. Not dying to play this one either but i think it would be a fun and cheap play!
Death Stranding: Honestly just for Norman Reedus! The trailer bored me to death and the reviews are awful. But im a big TWD fan and think it'd be pretty cool to play as Norman Reedus!
I know this was a lengthy post, but i wanna make sure I spend my money on something I won't regret soon after playing! Thank you for reading this and any answers I get!
EDIT: thought i should add that the games i enjoy are very story and narrative based, but the gameplay has to be immersive and easy to use/get used to. My favorite games are TLOU1&2, RDR1&2, Detroit: Become Human, GTA, Resident Evil, Silent Hill. And games im not to big on are, anything really fantasy, not a fan of Baulders Gate, GOW, Elden Ring, etc. Again, Thanks!

The Walking Dead, svelata una nuova location europea per Daryl Dixon 3-UNR

Why is Ozzie's the episode to set up future plot points in Helluva Boss, but not Queen Bee?-UNR
Like so far, we've been getting a lot of Stolitz, M&M, and FizzOzzie, but only a bare minimum amount of Loona, Queen Beelzebub, and Octavia. Like I'd assume it's because Ke$ha is a celebrity, so she'd cost a lot more money to hire than a professional voice actor, like Erika Lindbeck as Loona, as one example. Not to mention, that lawsuit with Ke$ha trying to break free of her former record label.
But even then, they've already recasted Queen Beelzebub's singing voice with Rochelle Diamante. Not to mention, recasted Striker with Edward Bosco rather than Norman Reedus. So the easiest and cheapest way to reintroduce Bee in a future HB episode or short is to recast her speaking voice like they did her singing voice and Striker.
Like I really want to see Loona introduce Octavia to Bee, Vortex, and the rest of the friends she made at that gluttony ring party, and bond as stepsisters there. But for some reason, SpindleHorse Toons is averse to that, and instead focused more on Stolitz, M&M, and FizzOzzie, like what the episode, Ozzie's, set up.
So why are they so averse to giving us more Loona, Bee, and Octavia? Why does Ozzie's get to be the episode to set up future plot points, but not Queen Bee, despite both Asmodeus and Bee being among the seven deadly sins, alongside Mammon, Satan, Belphegor, and Leviathan?

My coworker is annoying -UNR
Omg. First she dismisses me when I talk to her about my interest in motorcycles, norman Reedus, metal, etc etc, making me hate myself and spiral for like a month, but then she expects me to listen to her 24/7 about her stupid interests. She’s so mean to me. She used to be so nice. Idk what happened Then, she just likes to trigger my episodes, maybe she wants me fired or thinks it’s funny She also draws in her stupid journal all day, making me do all the work. JUST STOP!!! You’re so annoying!!! Leave me alone!!! Why are you working year round with me!!!
This probably makes no sense i am sorry

CMV: Video game characters should never be modeled after celebrities.-UNR
So with technology advancing, we've seen several instances of games getting famous actors to not only voice their characters, but be the visual likeness for the character as well. Examples include Death Stranding, Cyberpunk, Star Wars Jedi Survivior, etc. And I can't help but feel that this practice is only harmful to video games because the immersion will undoubtedly be hindered. Getting sucked into a fantasy world doesn't really work when you're staring at the face of Keanu Reeves, to put it bluntly.
I already forsee a common counterpoint to this being "well movies do it too, so why should it bother you here?" The problem with that logic is that video games as a medium have the power to make the characters look like anything, unlike movies which are stuck with using real people to play the roles completely unless it's an animated movie. There's only so many qualified actors you can use, and this extends to voice acting as well. So really, what's the point in making your character look like Norman Reeds when you can make him look like a completely unique person? There's no real benefit to this outside of a marketing standpoint - the immersion only serves to be damaged and the characters' identities not their own. Sam Bridges is not Sam Bridges. He's Norman Reedus. And there's no reason that has to be the case for a video game.
So to me, this practice of getting celebrities to be the look for your characters is inherently a bad idea. It just doesn't justify itself in this medium in any way, at least not with any artistic integrity. Let video games indulge on their creativity - don't restrict it.

Sense and Sense Ability -UNR
This episode has me cracking up! The acting is so great for everyone. I almost stopped my rewatch-I watched a long time ago and all I remembered is how much it took to get through the Cole story line, it just dragged on. I'm glad I stuck it out because this episode is great. Phoebe is the best but all are doing so good. I've rewound the scene multiple times when they put it together. And I was surprised to see Norman Reedus. As a TWD fan, fun surprise. I'll stick it out now.

Weekend Actuals for August 23-25 – 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Returns to the Top Spot, 'Alien: Romulus' Falls, 'The Crow' Dies-UNR
In an incredibly weak weekend, Deadpool & Wolverine seized the opportunity to return to the top spot on its fifth weekend. There were three newcomers and there were mixed results; Blink Twice became another Channing Tatum blunder, The Forge performed well, while The Crow unsurprisingly became a feast for crows.
The Top 10 earned a combined $82.5 million this weekend. That's up 5.8% from last year, when Gran Turismo cheated its way to #1.
Deadpool & Wolverine got back to the top spot, dropping just 39% and adding $18.3 million this weekend. With $577.2 million in the bank already, the film is going to close with over $620 million, which is just extraordinary.
Last week's champ Alien: Romulus was more front-loaded than anticipated. The film fell a steep 61% and added $16.3 million. That drop is better than Covenant (70.6%) but is worse than Prometheus (59.4%). That's kinda surprising considering the film's good response so far, but it looks like the franchise has a ceilling. Through ten days, it has amassed $72.8 million, and it has no chance of topping Prometheus ($126.4 million). It will close with over $100 million, but it won't be by much.
Sony's It Ends with Us added $11.6 million this weekend. That marks another rough 51% drop, which suggests the film won't be as leggy as other book adaptations like Where the Crawdads Sing. But the film has made $120.6 million so far, so it's not like it really matters anyway.
In fourth place, Amazon MGM's Blink Twice debuted with $7.3 million in 3,067 theaters. That's not far off from Tatum's previous box office blunder, Fly Me to the Moon, which failed to take off with just $9.4 million just one month ago.
The film cost just $20 million, so it's not a bad debut. But it's not a great one either. Yet it's tough to ask for higher numbers, given that the trailers have been very vague over the film's content, and outside Tatum, the rest of the cast are not box office draws. And even Tatum, as mentioned, has had his share of bombs in the past. Zoë Kravitz, on her directorial debut, is also not a draw either. So it's a film that, at the end of the day, it's doing the best it possibly can.
According to Amazon MGM, 56% of the audience was female and 62% was in the 18-34 demographic. While critics liked the film, the audience didn't feel the same; they gave it a very weak "B–" on CinemaScore. It is reported that audience members felt uncomfortable with the film's surprisingly bleak tone, which might explain it. We'll see how it goes, but so far, we don't have signs of a hit here.
Sony/Affirm's The Forge debuted with $6.6 million in 1,818 theaters. The film cost just $5 million, so it will comfortably be in the green. A massive 80% of the audience was 35 and over. They gave it a strong "A+" on CinemaScore. It should hold well.
Twisters dropped 39% and added $6.1 million. That takes its domestic total to $248.5 million, passing the original Twister's unadjusted gross. If only the foreign performance matched this performance.
In seventh place, Fathom Events' Coraline dipped 49% and added $5 million this weekend. That takes its lifetime total to $106.9 million. In some big news, it officially passed Chicken Run to become the highest grossing stop-motion animated film domestically.
It's not until the eighth spot where we find Lionsgate's The Crow, which flopped with just $4.6 million in 2,752 theaters. For reference, the original Crow debuted with $11.7 million back in 1994, and that's just unadjusted. In fact, the reboot's opening weekend is less than the original's third weekend.
This was one of the easiest flops to predict this summer. There's so many reasons why the film was left to the crows, but there's a big one here: it simply didn't look good. In fact, every single image and trailer of the film looked awful. When you compare it to the original film, it's even worse. The lead character's make-up and design looked incredibly reminiscent of Jared Leto's Joker, which is the worst compliment you can give.
The original Crow attained a cult following, particularly as the film was Brandon Lee's final film due to his tragic death during filming. In the eyes of the public, Brandon Lee is The Crow, making it very difficult for any other actor to take the mantle. Which is why the reboot was stuck in development hell for decades and saw the involvement and subsequent exit of stars like Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston, Alexander Skarsgård, Luke Evans, Norman Reedus, Jack Huston, Nicholas Hoult, Jack O'Connell, and Jason Momoa.
Now, the public is not aware of production problems, they simply want to watch a film. But the amount of delays suggest there's problems with finding the right script. It didn't fully gain traction till a few years ago, when Bill Skarsgård finally signed. And as proven with Boy Kills World, he is not a big name at the box office. And when you have Rupert Sanders as director, you're set for failure in the reception; it's currently sitting at a poor 19% on Rotten Tomatoes. Combine it with a reboot that no one was really interested, and you've got a flop.
According to Lionsgate, 58% of the audience was male and 58% was in the 18-34 demographic. The audience gave it a poor "B–" on CinemaScore, suggesting very lukewarm word of mouth. With putrid reception, the film is destined to fall quickly. There's a strong chance the film's lifetime gross will be less than the original's opening weekend. Lionsgate won't be hugely affected; they paid $10 million for the film and only spent $15 million on marketing. But they will still lose money on the film.
Universal/Illumination's Despicable Me 4 eased just 32%, grossing $4.2 million. Its domestic total stands at $348.1 million.
Rounding up the Top Ten was Disney/Pixar's Inside Out 2, which dropped 41% and adding $2 million. Its domestic total is now $646.2 million, and it should see a great hold this incoming weekend.
OVERSEAS
Alien: Romulus once again led the box office with $41.6 million overseas, taking its worldwide total to $225.6 million. The big story is China, where it became the second-biggest Hollywood movie in the country this year, behind Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. In fact, it's already making more money there than in the United States. The best markets are China ($73.3M), UK ($10.7M), Korea ($9.7M), France ($7M) and Mexico ($5.6M).
It Ends with Us added $22.3 million overseas, taking the worldwide total to $242.4 million. Its best markets are the UK ($20.5M), Australia ($11.8M), Mexico ($10.8M), Germany ($9.1M) and Brazil ($8.1M).
Deadpool & Wolverine added $20.2 million, and its worldwide total is now $1.211 billion. The best markets are the UK ($66.6M), China ($58.7M), Mexico ($42.4M), Australia ($38.7M) and Germany ($33.1M).
Despicable Me 4 added $18.6 million, and its worldwide total stands at $886 million. The best markets are China ($54.9M), UK ($53.8M), Mexico ($44.5M), Germany ($35.9M) and France ($30.7M).
Inside Out 2 added $9.1 million. The big news, is that it became the first animated film to cross $1 billion at the overseas box office, with its worldwide total now at $1.648 billion. It's just a few millions away from passing 2019's The Lion King to become the biggest animated film ever. The best markets are Mexico ($102.2M), Brazil ($80M), UK ($72.7M), France ($62.6M) and Korea ($60.8M).
Blink Twice debuted in 73 markets, although it was also soft with just $6.7 million overseas. That takes its worldwide debut to $13.9 million.
You may notice The Crow's insanely low worldwide numbers. So far we don't have actual numbers. They'll be posted as soon as possible.
FILMS THAT ENDED THEIR RUN THIS WEEK
Movie | Release Date | Studio | Domestic Opening | Domestic Total | Worldwide Total | Budget |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes | May/10 | 20th Century Studios | $58,400,788 | $171,130,165 | $397,378,150 | $160M |
- Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has closed with almost $400 million worldwide. It's hard to call this a hit, given that it didn't cover its marketing expenses. But considering how it had to build interest for new characters and a new storyline, perhaps it's solid enough for Disney and 20th Century Studios to go forward with their trilogy.
THIS WEEKEND
It's Labor Day, which is notoriously a very slow moviegoing weekend. And without National Cinema Day, it's likely audiences opt to just save their money till Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
There's only one film expected to hit wide release, and that's Sony/Blumhouse's Afraid, which follows a smart home AI increasingly interjecting itself into a family's life. Buzz is not quite strong with this film, and while it should be profitable due to Blumhouse's low budget, it'd be a surprise if it truly broke out.
ANNOUNCEMENT
This week, I'm leaving for a short vacations, so I won't be able to do a post next week. But don't worry, u/BunyipPouch will cover for me for Labor Day. Then I'll be back to talk about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
