I feel like the writers never truly knew what they wanted to do with Morgan's character beyond the "to kill or not to kill" conundrum and his character in the greater scheme of The Walking Dead world.
Should he have stayed on The Walking Dead after Season 8? Should he have become the new main lead of the show after Andrew Lincoln left? (Lennie James is arguably a much better actor than Norman Reedus imo)
Should he have gone over to Fear? Should he have gotten his own spinoff show?
Should he have been killed off on the main show? Should he have gotten the Lucille death at the end of Season Six instead of Abraham and Glenn?
Imo I think he's wasted on Fear and should've stayed on the main show as the new main lead after Andrew Lincoln left, it would've helped maintain ratings not to lose so many cast members all at once.
