Ok so I finally finished the movie today and I have a lot to say about it.
The thing I liked the most about this movie is perhaps the fact that Eve is not another John wick. What do I mean by that? She's clearly not as OP as John. Yeah, she's a killing machine but if we compare her and John in action, the difference is clear. Even in their "duel" we saw how it went, and John wasn't even trying to kill her.
This makes the universe so much more consistent and it makes the world of John wick feel more real.
Speaking of Eve, I had no idea who played her. I'm not a big movie guy and while I knew Ana de Armas, I was not familiar with her game. She looks sort of different in this movie and definitely Younger than 37. She nailed the role. This was definitely a moment of inspiration for the director as I wouldn't have thought of her for this role in a million years. her acting was on point and she also felt very authentic.
Next I wanna talk about the main bad guy and his cult. Yeah, I think this was a little weird. Nowhere near enough to ruin the movie but it just felt sort of out of place. The main guy was also not as developed as the villains from the main series. Far from it.
Norman Reedus was in this movie for his name only, as his relevancy to the plot was nonexistent. However I do believe that his presence in the movie guarantees a sequel. I can already see it, Eve getting hunted and Pine helping her for saving his daughter. Otherwise this would have been a huge waste. Having someone so great play such a small role is kind of disappointing imo. But yeah, like I've said, I do believe that he'll play a massive role in the sequel.
As for Keanu as John, there's really not much to say. God tier again. Literally got goosebumps when he came to the village to "kill Eve". I felt like he got the perfect amount of screentime as well. Just enough to satisfy the John Wick itch, but not too much to take the spotlight away from Eve.
Some side points.

I really wanna mention how the Kid Eve looks so much like adult Eve. There's really a lot of movies and TV shows where the kid version of a character looks nothing like their present form. It's a really minor thing but I'm glad they got it right. It just immerses you more into the universe of the movie.

some of the Melee hits seemed to be kind of "soft". Idk, but in the John Wick series, the hits Keanu received seemed very realistic. For the most part this is the case here as well, however I couldn't help but notice how some hits thrown at Eve didn't really connect.
Eve's sister plot point was kind of rushed imo. It was sudden and it ended too quickly. I would have liked it explored more tbh.
Expanding the universe. I just love when we explore new locations in the John wick world. We take ordinary places and we see another side of em. A side brimming with dangerous people.
Closing thoughts. I want a sequel for this movie. I want it really bad. I'm in love with this universe and I think it can move away from Johnathan. It's a fully realized world by now and I'd love to see it explored through Eve, Daniel Pine or even Cane (as much as I disliked his whole shtick)
The movie is a solid 8.6 imo. I enjoyed it a lot and I want more.
