Open Statement On Hideo Kojima-UNR

https://ift.tt/IWqtH1S

Ohhhh no. Not again. Not Hideo "I just woke up from a dream where a fetus talked to me in Morse code and told me to cast Mads Mikkelsen as a liquified World War I ghost soldier who’s also your mom" Kojima. Not Mr. "The gameplay is walking but trust me bro it means something" Kojimbo. You mean to tell me THIS man has once again wandered out of the quantum entanglement between art and pretension, clutching a script he wrote in Esperanto on the back of a sushi menu during a lucid hallucination, and y’all are EATING IT UP like it’s gourmet steak when it’s clearly psychic Soylent slop?

This is the only man alive who could pitch a game where the villain is literally named “Skull Face” and the boardroom nods in approval like he’s dropping Nietzsche quotes. Bro makes a game where your inventory menu is a metaphor for postpartum depression and your gun jams if you question your identity, and somehow IGN gives it a 10/10 with a straight face. Kojima doesn't make games, he makes cryptic cinema hallucinations that happen to be controlled with a DualSense.

You don’t play Kojima games. You get baptized into them. There’s no main menu—just a 17-minute live-action cutscene about nuclear trauma followed by a 45-minute monologue from a guy named “Codecrab the Intestinal Prophet” who tells you that war is bad, but also kinda good, but mostly bad—while peeing into a jar to save America.

Death Stranding was less a game and more a controlled psychological experiment to see how many hours of walking simulator you could endure before you started interpreting moss patterns as biblical allegory. And guess what? It worked. I saw a UPS box the other day and cried for 11 minutes because I missed Norman Reedus and his shoulder baby. Hideo Kojima somehow convinced a generation of gamers that the Amazon delivery guy was a tragic Christ figure cursed to carry our sins in a backpack while Mads Mikkelsen moans in the rain.

Metal Gear? Don’t even get me started. You ever try explaining Metal Gear to a normal human being? You sound like you’re having a stroke in slow motion. “Okay so the main guy is named Snake. But he’s not a snake. He’s a clone of another Snake. But not THAT Snake. That Snake is a ghost in a microwave. And the president is actually a ninja robot who loves America but hates freedom and also has a split personality named Liquid Snake who lives in his ARM.” WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, BRO?

Every Metal Gear game starts off like Call of Duty and ends like an undergraduate philosophy paper written after 12 Red Bulls and 3 mushrooms. One minute you’re sneaking into a base, the next you’re fist fighting a 100-year-old Russian sniper who photosynthesizes through his eyeballs while whispering riddles about the Gulf War. That’s not game design. That’s a theatre performance in a collapsing haunted opera house written by a time-traveling philosopher with untreated sleep paralysis.

And can we talk about the names Kojima gives his characters? Solid Snake. Liquid Snake. Solidus Snake. Venom Snake. Why not Gaseous Snake? Plasma Snake? Schrödinger’s Snake—he exists and doesn’t exist unless Raiden removes his cyberpants. I’m convinced Kojima has a dartboard covered in words like “Sorrow,” “Pain,” “Laughter,” and “Mitochondria,” and just throws darts until he builds a cast list.

Don’t even ask about the plots. Kojima doesn’t write plots. He summons them. He falls asleep on a pile of VHS tapes, astrally projects into a cyberpunk dreamworld, speaks to the ghost of Stanley Kubrick and returns with a storyline that reads like a UN resolution translated into Morse code by a schizophrenic octopus.

Every Kojima game starts with 5 hours of cutscenes, then 30 seconds of gameplay, followed by a 12-minute codec call where a man named “Doctor Telepathy” explains the ethical implications of digital bees. You don’t get a tutorial—you get a manifesto. You don’t pause the game—you enter a trance state and emerge knowing Latin and the true name of God.

Kojima doesn’t design games. He builds interdimensional art puzzles that punish logic. Your controller doesn’t vibrate—it shudders in existential dread. The difficulty setting is “What does it all mean?” And the soundtrack is just a woman humming the word “memory” over stock footage of a whale being born in reverse.

This man has a cult. And not like a figurative cult. A real one. I’ve seen grown men argue that Death Stranding is the greatest work of interactive media ever made while crying over a can of Monster Energy in their inventory. They say things like “Carrying cargo over rocks is actually a metaphor for human connection in a disconnected society.” No, Todd. It’s a hiking simulator with ghost goo and celebrity cameos from directors who owe Kojima a favor.

This is the same man who said he wanted to create a game that changed in real time based on your actual dreams. Hideo. Hideo please. Not everyone wants a video game that scans their subconscious and spawns an AI version of their dead dog to guilt-trip them into ending world hunger. I just wanted to shoot some bad guys and sneak in a box—not reevaluate my childhood traumas while being chased by an invisible demon shaped like Sigmund Freud.

Kojima doesn’t make games. He makes interactive psychosis. And we LOVE him for it. He is the gaming industry's most beautiful war criminal. He dropped a stealth nuke on common sense in 1998 and has been hiding in a cardboard box of madness ever since. If Kojima ever made a game about cooking, it would start with a tutorial on how to boil water and end with a live-action interview with Noam Chomsky about the ethics of cannibalism.

In conclusion, Hideo Kojima is either the greatest genius of our time or a glitch in the Matrix that gained sentience and learned to code. Either way, if he makes another game where the plot is communicated via dream pheromones from a dancing skeleton inside a whale’s memory chip—I’m buying it Day One, Deluxe Edition. Signed. Tattooed. Injected.

Kojima has not just done it again. Kojima has done what no mortal man should be allowed to do. He made a meme out of madness and called it a masterpiece.

Godspeed, you glorious lunatic.

Probably my favorite improvement from the first game is Sam.-UNR

https://ift.tt/IWqtH1S

I really loved DS1, but if I were to have one complaint, it would be Sam being used as an exposition device. It always felt like Sam was just a vessel for other characters to explain everything about the Death Stranding to the player and Sam didn't get to do much on his end. But I feel like that really changed in DS2.

Sam is more commanding and forward in this game. He initiates conversation and is alot more interactive when it comes to dialogue. It is honestly great character development. Going from a reclusive that hated human contact to being much more open and has no issues with being close to someone.

Norman Reedus got to work with a lot more this game, and he's doing a great job.

The smallest of gripes so far (DS2)-UNR

https://ift.tt/8xn6ZGJ

I’m in the early game, there will be no story spoilers but mild gameplay ones; if you want to go in totally blind obviously do not read this post.

Do a solid for your fellow gamer and mark anything (story or gameplay) about future episodes with a spoiler warning. I’m at episode 4 currently.

  • No private room scenes.

What I mean by “scene” here are all the little Sam Fidgets and interactions from the first game by zooming in or interacting with things. It seems such a strange thing to exclude considering how fond we all think of them and even if Kojima didn’t want to expand they could’ve at least just carried over the pre existing ones with little to no effort. I want to be punched by Norman Reedus for zooming in on his Normal Weenus :(

  • The auto climb

Sam will now automatically vault and climb over small ledges. This is a good thing in concept but in practice it means a bunch of tiny interruptions to watch him hop up a small ledge that in the first game despite the prompt could have been walked over.

  • The damn backpack gets dirty, damn dirty

Listen I love the weather effects on your suit and cargo and stuff; it’s great! ….but it’s also a little overeager in my opinion, I’m putting the work in to unlock these patches and trick my pack out with some swag bling and five minutes later my whole thing is crusted over in tar or sand. I’d like to remind you that these are the ˢᵐᵃˡˡᵉˢᵗ of gripes.

  • Can’t scrub through the song you’re listening to

I was skeptical about the music player, I felt Kojima left it out on purpose in the first game (hell it even blocks using the PlayStation Spotify app) but it’s grown on me and they definitely didn’t use its inclusion as an excuse to skimp out on all the great sound design. My one issue with it is that songs will get interrupted, skip, or start over while you’re doing various things and you can’t just select the song and fast forward back to where you left off.

  • Can’t ride the damn monocycle

Ever since I saw that first trailer I’ve been so hyped to ride that tiny little thing. Look at it! It’s got both sides for holding cargo just like the trike. I know it’d suck to ride, probably have a really low weight limit but… come on!!!! I wanna ride the damn unicycle. I expected its small size would allow it to be picked up if you got stranded without a battery or needed to go up a cliff. To be fair I’m very early game so maybe you will get it later on but as of right now I’m big mad!

That’s all my little gripes so far; I wanna say I fucking love this game already and I’m so excited to continue; no actual problems I can think of thus far and it tickles me pink I get to say that.

Death Stranding 2 is not so good as it is portreyed-UNR

https://ift.tt/8xn6ZGJ

I've finished the game and I think the story has a lot of issues. The biggest one is how Sam (Norman Reedus) is depicted. I don't get why he got almost no lines and he is portreyed as a brick - both emotionally and intellectually. I get it - he has this "don't touch me" thing and supposedly his psychological issues and work conditions are meant to explain his behavior. But there were at least 3 to 5 emotionally charged scenes where he should have shown some sort of emotional instability (and to be fair he did show a bit in 1 or 2). Even when he was burning alive game devs decided to show 0 emotions of agony, making it hard to believe in the reality of the scene. All we got was "his Ka healed, but Ga didn't" and in next scene he's back doing the same thing as nothing happened (no character development). Even when he recieves sunglassess for comleting a task he shows more emotions.

The story contradicts itself and has a lot of red flags that should have been caught during the production process, e.g:

  • APAS hired Drawbridge with one of the best porters in their world aka Fragile, but she still needs Sam to do their job. APAS knows that there is no need to hire Sam but goes along with Drawbridge ideas without any good reason. Also with available infrustructure Drawbridge still asks Sam to walk alone instead of just dropping him off by ship.
  • Sam doesn't confront anyone about anything. Throughout the whole game I had a feeling like "Drawbridge doesn't telling me something important". Even when it becomes clear that there is no president anymore, Sam doesn't act accordingly ( His initial recruitment reason was "Bridges has data on you and won't let you live in peace"). But instead of saying something like "wtf Fragile, if there is this APAS, why would Bridges even be trying to find me" he goes along with the lies and the given narrative. Even at start it was very sus when she said "we connected a shelter nearby, u can print things now" since it's obviously possible for Bridges to track who printed what and where.
  • The plot is basically "go there and we'll drop the charges". But that applies only to Sam, not the BB. Why would anyone agree to those terms? He clearly shows through his actions that the child is all that matters to him.
  • When he finds a living being on the beach, he asks zero questions. The crew does a health check on "Tomorrow" but noone decided to run a DNA test to figure out who she really is - is so dumb an unlogical. In contrast they somehow found a photo of Sam's wife with Neil Vana, which should have been way harder than a simple DNA check. So either the crew is lying to Sam to keep him on board, or the writing is just inconsistent. But if they are lying the story feels even worse.
  • Heartman's travels to the other side just to find his family and his ongoing denial about their deaths, even longer than Sam’s denial about the baby - is so dumb that I don't know what to say here.
  • Why there was a baby at the end? Why did the baby suddenly become a Tomorrow at the end? Why did time pass so quickly for Tomorrow? These are still open questions for me.
  • Tomorrow shares similar facial features with Amelie, and no one in the crew even points that out.
  • Neil died with Sam's wife but revealed himself to Sam only on Australia. And why he revealed himself later than Cliff? I think this was bad designed.

Overall the story lacks strong dramatic moments to rate it any higher than a 7. I honestly feel that even the devs created those plot twists as a joke - it was so cringy and unnatural. The first game was far better and more enjoyable.

But what do you think?

Critic Reviews

ACG - Jeremy Penter - Buy

Improved in almost all ways compared to the original but without removing what made fans love the original.

AnaitGames - Víctor Manuel Martínez García - Spanish - 9 / 10

Kojima Productions delves into the ideas of the original game, nuanced and twisting them to stick it to the present without losing or losing its condition of Pure Video Game.

Atarita - Eren Eroğlu - Turkish - 86 / 100

Death Stranding 2 builds upon the foundations of its predecessor with a more polished and ambitious experience, successfully addressing many of the original’s shortcomings. While its emotionally resonant story stands out, the narrative momentum occasionally falters due to pacing inconsistencies.

But Why Tho? - Matt Sowinski - 9 / 10

It’s Kojima at his most Kojima, a visionary building a type of experience that only he can. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is an adventure worth taking.

CGMagazine - Jordan Biordi - 9 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach takes its predecessor's foundation and builds a bigger, better game on top-keeping everything that worked, and improving what didn't 10-fold.

CNET - Oscar Gonzalez - Unscored

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach should have been called Death Stranding 2: Quality of Life, because that's what this game is. From top to bottom, Kojima Productions made so many improvements to the original, making a weird delivery-sim game that is quite relaxing. Those improvements may not be enough to attract people who avoided the original, yet the players coming back are going to find a sense of calmness that you could assume Kojima wanted to deliver with his game.

COGconnected - Rhett Waselenchuk - 100 / 100

Quote not yet available

ComingSoon.net - Tyler Treese - 9.5 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is yet another stellar entry from one of gaming’s greatest minds. The whole team at Kojima Productions has delivered a startling project that is massive in scale, building upon the original’s mechanics in interesting ways.

Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - 9 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a bigger and bolder expansion that will once again split fans and critics. The improvements across the board are felt immediately, bringing about a significant amount of much-needed change to the formula. Between the changes to stealth and combat, the new structures you can build, and the new settings, cast, and music, Death Stranding 2 has proven that Kojima is not only on point but also an auteur of the industry. There is nobody like him doing what he does, and I sincerely doubt there will be.

Dexerto - Brad Norton - 5 / 5

Death Stranding 2 is phenomenal. It’s among Kojima’s very best work not just for its narrative, but for the near-limitless variety in its gameplay opportunities.

While it may very well end up being the final game in the series, at least with Kojima at the helm, we can only hope someone else picks up the mantle and continues to iterate on one of gaming’s most unique experiences. After all, why else would we have connected?

Echo Boomer - David Fialho - Portuguese - Essential

A work of art is not defined by perfection, but by the confidence with which it is created, the intent that drives it, and the lasting impression it leaves on those who play, watch, read, or listen. Even if Death Stranding 2: On the Beach didn’t grip me at first as I had hoped, by the end — much like its predecessor — it left me deeply moved and with a strange, immediate sense of longing. Just hours after finishing it, I started it all over again — not out of a need for completion (which I could have continued from my first run), but simply because I still can’t bring myself to leave this world and these characters. To me, this rare kind of involvement — at once interactive, emotional, and philosophical — is what makes video games such a special form of expression.

Enternity.gr - Panagiotis Petropoulos - Greek - 8.5 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is better than its predecessor in almost all areas, placing a heavy emphasis on combat while keeping the stealth feature at a very good level.

GRYOnline.pl - Sebastian Kasparek - Polish - 10 / 10

Death Stranding 2 doesn't have to be perfect, but it is exceptional as a game and a sequel. It's hard for me to point out any real flaws. I played like a haunted person, looking forward to the next scenes. This is a complete experience - much bigger, better, more dynamic, much more interestingly conceived and varied compared to the previous installment.

GameSpot - Diego Nicolás Argüello - 7 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is fixated on revisiting past ideas, which limits its impact to being a good but not great sequel

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach feels more like a purposeful yet uncertain journey into uncharted territory. Building upon the core mechanics of its predecessor, it makes the delivery process less hardcore, offering richer possibilities in both combat and stealth. The series' iconic "delivery" is not just an activity, but central to its narrative. If you still believe that "connections" between people hold meaning, then Death Stranding 2 is a journey worth taking.

Gaming Nexus - Jason Dailey - 10 / 10

Hideo Kojima once again proves to be a singular creative force in the video game industry, crafting a sequel in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach that is not just essential for fans of the first game, but an essential experience for all gamers.

GamingBolt - Shubhankar Parijat - 10 / 10

Death Stranding 2 delivers stunning visuals, refined stealth-focused gameplay, and a richly detailed world brought to life by excellent audio and a memorable cast. It meaningfully evolves the original's mechanics, though its unique style will still divide fans.

HCL.hr - Zoran Žalac - Unknown - 82 / 100

A true cargo-carrying experience: it's not all that fun at the beginning of the trip, it gets better once you warm up, and provides the best feeling when you finally get rid of everything that's been weighing down your back.

INDIANTVCZ - Filip Kraucher - Czech - 7 / 10

Death Stranding 2 is a fascinating yet conflicted sequel. Unafraid to slow down, reflect, and stir emotion, but too often at the cost of frustration and recycled mechanics. It refuses to pander, save for the promise of story continuation, stellar cast, and an evocative soundtrack. But before expanding its world, it should have focused more deeply on refining its gameplay, because the magic of the first game can’t be relived twice.

INVEN - Kyuman Kim - Korean - 9 / 10

Compared to its predecessor, Death Stranding 2 delivers a far more refined experience in every aspect—from gameplay to narrative pacing. The stunning visual presentation and tightly directed storytelling keep you engaged right up to the end. While the repetitive gameplay may cause a brief sense of fatigue in the middle, the powerful climax makes it all worthwhile.

Kakuchopurei - 90 / 100

My 35+ hours with Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was laced with so many emotions and feelings: boredom, excitement, joy, confusion, and satisfaction. It still has the trademarks of a Kojima-written narrative -"Muffin Man"-style dialogue, bats*** insane moments, subtle-as-a-sledgehammer storytelling with obvious symbolism.

But that's what makes this sequel all the more endearing; you may cringe at some moments, but you won't be bored with the thread being spun here. Nor will you be left out of the lurch with the interactive experience you're getting.

KonsoliFIN - Niko Lähteenmäki - Finnish - 4 / 5

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is, in my book, a near-perfect sequel. Many of the criticisms aimed at the first game have been addressed with smart changes that make it significantly more approachable. Visually and aurally, it’s even more stunning than its predecessor, and the new plot twists are truly gripping. Only the masochists who loved the utter bleakness of the first game might not appreciate the improvements that Kojima Productions has made.

LevelUp - Spanish - Unscored

It's a video game, but also an experience that stimulates all your senses; a work capable of stirring emotions and surprisingly discovering that gaming can be just as moving as a song, a play, or a movie. As a game, it meets and surpasses its predecessor; as a creative expression, it reaffirms the talent of Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions, as well as their stubbornness to continue innovating and pushing the boundaries of the medium. It's not perfect; it slips in places, but it's undoubtedly one of the best games of the year.

Loot Level Chill - Chris White - 10 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is one of the greatest games of all time, blending freedom in its gameplay with a story and soundtrack that will be remembered for decades.

Merlin'in Kazanı - Samet Basri Taşlı - Turkish - 87 / 100

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has managed to be a beautiful game that will make fans of the first game very happy with its rich cast, magnificent music and eccentric humor.

Nexus Hub - Sam Aberdeen - 10 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is one of the best games of the generation and Kojima Productions at the peak of its craft - so precisely fine-tuned, emotionally resonant and at times, completely and confidently bonkers.

One More Game - Chris Garcia - 9 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach builds meaningfully upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, delivering a more dynamic and visually arresting sequel anchored by an emotional narrative that doesn't let go until the finish. It invites returning porters and newcomers alike to rediscover its strange, beautiful world with a renewed sense of wonder, reminding us that Kojima magic is very much alive.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is absolutely essential and a must-play title that could easily get Game of the Year nods yet again. Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions have delivered a unique and gripping experience, guiding us through the wilderness and reminding us that every step, no matter how uncertain, brings us closer to connection.

Oyungezer Online - Eren Eryürekli - Turkish - 9 / 10

Kojima has once again managed to deliver an emotional and deeply layered story that will have us trekking through mountains and valleys for 90 hours - it simply doesn't get better than this. Our second journey through this world, brought to life by the magic of Decima Engine, promises to be a far more satisfying experience in every aspect, finally realizing its true potential as an unforgettable adventure.

PPE.pl - Wojciech Gruszczyk - Polish - 9.5 / 10

In 2019, Hideo Kojima surprised the world with the story of the courier, only to continue his story a few years later. Death Stranding 2 is a game for Sam's fans who want to know his further fate. Give yourself to the story of the story, the characters and the world.

PSX Brasil - Bruno Henrique Vinhadel - Portuguese - 95 / 100

Technically flawless and visually stunning, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is an exceptional sequel and a clear evolution for a game that was already full of qualities. An even more engaging story with an improved narrative, as well as huge advances in its unique gameplay, are just some of the highlights of one of the best games of the year.

Pizza Fria - Álvaro Saluan da Cunha - Portuguese - 10 / 10

The feeling that remains is that we are faced with a work that marks not only this generation of consoles, but also a new chapter in Hideo Kojima's career and in the history of video games as a great means of artistic expression.

PlayStation Universe - Joe Richards - 9.5 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is a triumph in what it sets out to achieve. This isn't a game interested in converting willing consumers into fans, it's a game that takes bold steps in order to succeed what came before it. If you needed proof that Hideo Kojima is still the titan of the industry that he's hailed as, this game is that proof. I was left truly speechless by the end, and I have a feeling that many others will too.

Push Square - Liam Croft - 10 / 10

In what will prove to be one of the defining games of the PS5 generation, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a profound achievement of design, gameplay, narrative, and visuals. As all four meet in the middle, Kojima Productions has crafted a cinematic spectacle that flawlessly transitions between action and traversal, all wrapped up in the most absorbing of narratives. An immense upgrade on the first game, Death Stranding 2 is an unequivocal masterpiece.

Quest Daily - Shaun Fullard - 9 / 10

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is a sequel through and through, not straying too far from the style and set-up established within the first game. Instead, choosing to improve upon the formula in almost every way, putting more focus on action, pacing, and enemy encounters.

Restart.run - Jesse Vitelli - 3 / 5

Death Stranding 2 is a game that pulls from the same playbook as the original, one that wants you to know it was made by the creator of Metal Gear Solid, and doesn't use its 55- hour runtime to pull on the threads that are interesting about the world. Instead, its focus on combat and retreading similar ground gets tiring fast. There are moments of something special here, but they can't shine past their own shadows.

SECTOR.sk - Michal Korec - Slovak - 8.5 / 10

Death Stranding 2 may not match the sales figures of its predecessor, nor recapture the magic of the original. However, it is a well-crafted sequel with expanded gameplay, new territories, a great plot, and lots of Metal Gear Solid elements waiting to be discovered after all these years.

SavePoint Gaming - Jake Su - 9.5 / 10

More of the same when it comes to a quality experience is never a bad thing, but Death Stranding 2 doesn't have the same wow factor that came with every little detail of the first. It is still an incredible, indie-esque realisation of a grand vision that only Kojima can come up with, and being exceptional instead of groundbreaking is still worth giving a thumbs up to.

Sirus Gaming - Kurt John Palomaria - 9 / 10

But even with its stumbles, Death Stranding 2 stuck with me. It’s messy. It’s over the top. It’s absolutely not for everyone. But it moved me. And for a game about carrying things, that feels like the point. It’s strange. It’s human. It’s heavy. Death Stranding 2 is worth the weight.

The Outerhaven Productions - Cody Perez - 3.5 / 5

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach continues the same gameplay from the original without any meaningful innovations or ideas. That said, the brilliant story and unparalleled music and performances make this worth a look.

TheSixthAxis - Tuffcub - 8 / 10

Despite repeating huge chunks of Death Stranding 1, almost beat for beat, Kojima pulls it out of the bag in the end. The core gameplay loop remains satisfying enough to get you through to the good stuff, but I can't help but feel disappointed just how similar this game is to its predecessor.

Toisto - Joonatan Itkonen - 5 / 5

Death Stranding 2 is the encapsulation of Hideo Kojima's ambition to marry films and games into one seamless experience. For the first time, it's not him emulating the cinema he adores. Instead, it's Kojima directing a vast, emotionally charged epic that others will imitate in years to come. It is a masterpiece of storytelling and game design. A peerless exploration of grief, found family, and all that we leave behind.

Too Much Gaming - Carlos Hernandez - 5 / 5

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach delivers higher visual fidelity, consistent performance across the board, and a few new tricks that make gameplay more accessible, challenging, and fun. If you have the patience and come in with an open mind, you’ll be in an exclusive group of people who will struggle to describe this experience to anyone else.

WellPlayed - Adam Ryan - 10 / 10

Immensely self-assured in the quality of its foundation, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach masterfully iterates and refines, while introducing considered additions that complement the experience, not complicate it.

Worth Playing - Chris "Atom" DeAngelus - 9 / 10

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is an improvement over Death Stranding in almost every way I can think of. It's larger, full of more things to do, and generally a more enjoyable experience. The plot is crazier than ever, which might be a plus or minus depending on your tastes, but if nothing else, it isn't boring. The only complaint I can think of is that the game is perhaps a touch too easy at times, and even that isn't a huge problem. If you liked the first game, it's very easy to imagine you liking the sequel. Just be prepared for things to be as unfathomably ridiculous as possible at every turn.

Didn’t expect to love The Walking Dead again, but here I am-UNR

https://ift.tt/Ym4aL8M

Long story short, I started The Walking Dead back in 2010 like everyone else and loved it. I stopped watching after Season 5 for reasons I honestly can't remember. In 2023, I suddenly felt the urge to catch up after years away. I got as far as mid-Season 10 before dropping off again, but now I’m finally 14 episodes away from finishing Season 11. I just wanted to say, I’ve been really enjoying the show, even after Rick’s exit. Part of me is genuinely impressed with how they managed to keep things interesting with Daryl as the lead. And while there are definitely fewer characters I care about now, I'm still having a good time. I plan on continuing with the spin-offs (no Fear the Walking Dead, though). I’ve heard the reception is mixed, but hey, between my love for zombie apocalypses and a wave of nostalgia, I’m back in. Plus, seeing Norman Reedus in Ballerina reminded me just how much I used to love this franchise.

Even Death Stranding 2's Solid Snake doppelganger thought he was playing a Metal Gear Solid character, but Hideo Kojima had to tell him "you're not snake"-UNR

If you are my husband - Don't look. This post contains spoilers too spoilery for you.-UNR

https://ift.tt/30elFNx

tldr: I am looking for any extra ideas or inspiration anyone might have to perfect my husbands Birthday Death Stranding 2 experience next week.

Thinking maybe using the soundtrack as our alarm/get up and caffeinate music...

I will try to recreate the iconic birthday cake... and today I had the crazy thought of repurposing the "Jurassic Park" mashed potato mountain for dinner one night... with black dyed gravy to imitate tar fields...

I am also hoping to try and find some cryptobiote- like gummies... and was thinking some other Australian themed snackfoods would be good - Vegemite Shapes, Lamingtons etc.

any other ideas? decorations?

...

If you want the full context of how important Death Stranding 2 is to him - here it is!

My Aussie "country-boy" husband adores Kojima's work. He is a huge Metal Gear Solid fan, and has adored encouraging me and the other "kids" in our families to play whenever anyone shows the slightest interest. He is visibly filled with pure JOY every single time watching the story unfold, even while others do the playing.

When he first played Death Stranding he was in awe, thrilled with the casting of Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen - marvelling at all the breathtaking scenery - he warned me that there would be a lot of that if I spectated him playing... and there was. He did all the side-quest grinding you would expect, and was so keen when he finally finished the game to just sit and process all of it. This was also during a pretty rough period of our life so it was a true escape and he did have to set the game aside for a while before he felt like he was ready to go back to it, and for it to be over.

SO, imagine how ecstatic this man was to tell me that after a really really really rough year - that Death Stranding 2 is being released on June 26th - the day after his birthday - AND that the trailer seems to indicate that it is SET in Australia. It felt like fate.

Then there was the reveal of a character that looked like Snake...

Then there was speculation that it was the reclamation of sorts of Kojima's lost attachment to the Metal Gear Solid work...

Then... and this honestly was my favourite part... he had been saying it was such a shame that the game was being released the day after his birthday... because of the surprise the game gives you on your birthday.

I only found out when I pre-ordered 2 weeks ago that the deluxe version included 48hrs of early access... meaning he could be 10 hours into playing it by the time it even becomes his birthday. I told him on Sunday last week and he was so shocked and excited he couldn't even process. He has been excitedly telling me about how he is avoiding any other spoilers since, and I can't wait for how much he is going to love this week!

Thanks!

No DS2 Spoilers, Please: A Quick Guide to Blocking Content-UNR

https://ift.tt/CS4NfWG

Now that our favorite game is almost here, we definitely don’t want the internet to ruin it with spoilers. That’s why I’ve put together this guide on how to install SpoilerProtection, a Chrome extension (also available for Firefox).

Here’s how it works:
If you're scrolling through your YouTube feed and a video happens to contain any of the words you've added to your blacklist, you'll see it like this:

https://preview.redd.it/zc9ni4lxxn7f1.png?width=1806&format=png&auto=webp&s=6fd2bd775adef474e680e4e62929c8d1d4cda9ed

First, you need to download the extension from here:

Chrome:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/spoilerprotection/eelacikjiplnmdingehjfdjcfegclmkg

Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/spoiler-protection-2-0/

Once installed, open the extension and look for the field called "Make your list". There, paste the following list of keywords, separated by commas:

amelie, bridges, kojima, fragile, higgs, heartman, deadman, die-hardman, lou, louise, lucy, lockne, mama, cliff, jorge, narindra, elle, fanning, shioli, kutsuna, troy, baker, norman, reedus, monaghan, sam, porter, bb, bridge baby, death stranding, ds2, trailer, gameplay, cutscene, cinematica, escena, ending, final, historia, lore, teoria, trama, explicacion, review, analisis, spoiler, leak, filtrado, intro, walkthrough, playthrough, jugabilidad, kojima productions, Bridget, strand, kill, stranding, DS

You can add or remove any words you want. In my case, the list is pretty heavy and might block some unrelated content — but I'd rather be safe for now.

my ex was… odd to say the least. they spoke nonstop about norman reedus, the guy who played daryl dixon in the walking dead. and sure, i get it, special interests, but it got to a point where i knew more about norman than i did about my partner. they also had a pregnancy fetish, which was insane to say the least. always talking about pregnant norman. i thought it was satire at first, but i learned about 6 months in that they were dead serious.

my final straw was their hygiene. they would cough, sneeze, and burp into the open. i told them to cover their coughs with their elbow and not their hands, that they never sanitized, and got the response “elbows are for sneezes.” i left ASAP after that. am i the asshole? Potential Death Stranding easter egg in the film Ballerina (2025)-UNR

https://ift.tt/rNjY78R

I just came from the theater, and the first thing I wanted to do was write this post.

In the film Ballerina (2025), there is a scene with the protagonist and Norman Reedus in an elevator. The music subtly changes to a mysterious vibe, eerily similar to what we usually hear in Death Stranding. It is subtle, but clearly there. No other moments in the film have a similar musical score to that scene.

I am thinking this must be intentional and a reference to DS. Has anyone else picked this up?

Keanu Reeves / Norman Reedus as Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze)-UNR

https://ift.tt/4hVqd0b

Ghost rider (Johnny Blaze) is one of my favourite marvel characters but marvel fans mischaracterise him all the time Johnny was a young Blonde devil may care motorcyclist and looks nothing Reeves or Reedus and neither of them have played a character before that I think has similar traits to Johnny (that I’ve seen). I hate these fan casts so much as it’s just by people who know that Daryl Dixon looks cool with a motorbike so he should play ghost rider or Keanu Reeves looks cool and plays bad ass characters so he should play ghost rider, neither actor would fit well at all.

Played it in 2019 - It's alright but I don't get it. Played it in 2025 - Oh wow..this is a masterpiece-UNR

https://ift.tt/4hVqd0b

Sorry, I know I'm so late to get on board with this game but it's like I've not known I've had muddy vision for so long then suddenly put on glasses and see it clearly for the first time!

Admittedly I've never been a Kojima fan (never played metal gear) and I think Norman Reedus is a very one note actor (don't hate me for either of those things 😄) So when I played Death Stranding in 2019, I was hoping for a new kind of experience which I definitely got but I also didn't really follow the story that much and didn't try after a while as it felt too confusing. I ended up completing the game after B-lining it but didn't get much out of it.

Trailer for DS2 started to come out and was scratching that same itch for wanting something different, so I told myself I can only purchase the sequal if I play the first game again in its entirety. This time around was totally different.

I don't know what has changed inside me but I connected with the story instantly, understand what I was meant to along the way, I was marveling at the creative sequence of events after being caught by a BT for the first time and having to fight off against those massive creatures, I got invested in the stories of the characters along the way, especially Mama, and I fell in love with the gameplay. Delivering cargo and connecting the Knots fully encompassed me.

I know I'm a late-comer but boy am I glad I tried this again. This game is nothing short of a masterpiece and I honestly can't wait for the sequal, not long now!

A theory on Ballerina on the JWU Timeline-UNR

https://ift.tt/i8FpWqV

My GF and I just saw the movie and, while it was pretty good, we left scratching our heads as to how it fit the JWU, specifically John Wick's cameo in Hellstadt or Ballerina's 3rd act. We've read multiple threads, posts, and comments since then and came up with a theory.

-RANGE OF POSSIBLE TIMELINE- Beginning A scene in Ballerina showed Wick talking to the head of Ruska Roma over the phone and his ring finger was missing. This means that Ballerina must have happened AFTER Wick meets withe Table's Elder, where he had his ring finger chopped off.

End The ending sequences of Ballerina shows Eve in the New York Continental checking in with Charon and Winston. Charon dies in Act 1 of John Wick Chapter 4 (JW4). This means that Ballerina must have happened BEFORE Charon is killed off in JWC4.

Soooo, it looks like this currently....: Wick meets Elder <--------> Ballerina <--------> Charon's Death

-CONSTRAINTS & CONSIDERATIONS- 1. In John Wick Parabellum (JW3), Winston was given 7 days by the Adjudicator to deal with Wick. If Wick took too long to return from the Table's Elder, it would have meant that Winston would be replaced as the manager of the New York Continental, which isn't the implied case in Ballerina's ending. 2. Wick first met Eve when Wick's ticket was torn by the Ruska Roma, which occurred prior the 'Beginning' of the possible timeline, displayed above. 3. Ballerina's Act 2 (or 3, I dunno; it's the part prior to figuring out the cult in Hellstadt) is introduced to us with an explicit "Two Months Later" text. This means that 2 months have passed since Wick meeting Eve. With CONSTRAINT #1, Wick must have went back to the New York Continental in JW3 in less than a week and John's appearance in Ballerina must have happened afterwards. But, John suffers a fall from the NYC (New York Continental) by the of JW3, where he was picked up by the Bowery King and shown to be in the sewers. This establishes a new 'Beginning' for the range of possible timeline:

End of JW3 <--------> Ballerina <--------> Charon's Death

-WHEN EXACTLY?- With this in mind, the only time that makes sense to me for Ballerina to fit in the JWU is BEFORE the start of JW4. This gives John time to recover from the fall from NYC's heights, which may coincide with Ballerina's 2 months timeskip.

Q1: Why does the Cult choose to respect the Ruska Roma and NOT kill John immediately? A1: As mentioned in the movie, the Cult is not under the Table. The Cult, therefore, may not feel obligated to kill John, despite his bounty. Furthermore, after the fall from the NYC, John's status to the Table may be ambiguous, with the Adjudicator not finding his body by the end of JW3. This may have also left John's bounty in an ambiguous state. It was also stated in Ballerina that the Ruska Roma does not meddle with the Cult's affairs, and vice-versa, and that may be extended to the High Table with Ruska Roma being under the table. Q2: Why would John heed Ruska Roma's request, when his "ticket was torn" by this time? A2: While the JWU has shown us time and time again that "rules are what separates us from the animals", it has also shown us (similar to what a comment said in a different thread), that relationships and favors are a way of life as well. Ruska Roma has been heavily implied to have raised, trained, and protected John long before he became the Babayaga. Perhaps, John felt a sense of gratitude when the Ruska Roma directress called for a request, despite having his "ticket torn".

-ASSUMPTION- To further strengthen A2, I assume and theorize that Ella, the daughter of Norman Reedus's character, may as well be the daughter of Sofia (Halle Baley's character). Ella seems to have characteristics of African descent, while Norman Reedus does not. Sofia does.

It has been mentioned that Sofia has an unnamed daughter, which she no longer has contact with, as a condition set by the Table. Although in rough terms, John may see Sofia to be a comrade in arms, especially after their shoot out in Casa Blanca.

With the request of the Ruska Roma, John may have seen this as an opportunity to do Sofia a favor and check on Ella on her behalf. With John's ambiguous status as far as the Table's concerned, him being near the proximity of Ella but having no direct contact, and him fulfilling Ruska Roma's request, it becomes less likely for the Table to associate John's appearance in Helstadt with Sofia indirectly contacting Ella through John, which keeps both Sofia and Ella safe.

Plotholes may still exist in this head cannon of mine, but it's the only timing that makes sense to me.

Norman’s lack of involvement-UNR

https://ift.tt/T5RJLod

Is Norman’s limited involvement simply because the first game was entirely centered around him, essentially making DS1 The Norman Reedus Game (and Mads), while DS2 is deliberately shifting focus to promote its new additions?

Or is there a narrative reason for his reduced presence, meaning his in-game role will be as minimal as his appearances in the promo and premieres?

Personally, I’m hoping for the latter. His story was wrapped up in the best way possible and I wanna experience and explore from a different perspective. I kinda hope this is a TLOU2 type of shift in terms of perspective changes.

"Eles me mordem, eu viro um."

Continuo esquecendo as coisas. Tornei-me independente aos 52 anos. Agora tenho 61. Além disso, teve a Covid.

Estou nervoso. Sinto-me apressado. Conheço toda a equipe.

Minha mãe me criou.

A Kojima Productions ainda vai fazer jogos enquanto você filma?

Eles receberam a minha pequena chama. E provavelmente a darão a outra pessoa.

Exatamente.

Why I Walked Out of the Theater Disappointed-UNR

https://ift.tt/AvMxekQ

Just saw Ballerina yesterday. Here are my thoughts:

  • I didn’t even know Gabriel Byrne was in this, so I saw delighted to see him in the first scene.
  • The whole "take this gun with a single bullet, kill yourself or shoot me" part lacked something, it felt like writers wanted to put something that felt cool about the Bryne character but it didn’t work.
  • Young Winston looked somewhat weird but I don’t mind it at all.
  • "Don’t fight like a man, fight like a woman". When the director said this, it felt cool and I wondered what the writers will come up with. I thought maybe she’d use her hands like claws, but even that felt weak. And all they do is kick him in the balls? One last kick to assert dominance? Just no.
  • Wow, seeing the events of JW3 from another angle, I loved this.
  • Grenade scenes don’t make sense but they look cool. Wish we saw her training with grenades before though.
  • Norman Reedus is done for? I guess he was movie poster bait huh…
  • Charon is alive? When does this movie take place then? When we see John Wick for the first time, it was the scene from JW3. Then he went to Casablanca, walked the desert, got his finger cut. Got back to the Continental, basically revolted with Winston, then got shot and fell, found by Morpheus. Ballerina has to take place after JW3, after Wick gets healed back, but before the start of JW4 because the receptionist is alive. And during all this time Wick had a bounty on him, now he’s doing missions?
  • Wait the whole village has the same X mark? So Eve’s father also had one? Why wasn’t Eve’s first reaction to seeing the bad guy’s mark “Wait that’s the same mark as my dad’s!”
  • Keanu seems even more stiffer in this movie.
  • The Eve vs Wick was lacking, again. This was supposed to feel like seeing Darth Vader at the end of Rogue One. Didn’t feel as exciting at all. Though I will add, I was afraid for a moment Eve was going to kick JW in the balls and win.
  • So the whole village gets destroyed by Eve huh. The HQ of the people the Director and Winston keep telling they shouldn’t mess with? Hell, the director has how many ballerinas? Just send 4-5 and raze the place.
  • Flamethrower scenes looked cool at first but dragged on for too long. It felt like the director of the movie discovered a new toy and overplayed with it.
  • I liked that the Bryne character didn’t fight.
  • The blonde guy with the flamethrower had no charisma whatsoever. That guy should have been a bad guy that gets shot in 2 seconds. And I thought he was going to get burned by hot water drops in his face, but didn't happen.

Any way, if this wasn’t a John Wick movie, all people would say is that it was a cheap copy of John Wick. 4/10

Ballerina plot hole question-UNR

https://ift.tt/mvKgMDI

There are 2 scenes that I am really having trouble with understanding in Ballerina.

  1. Why did a random Cult member attack Ballerina if there is supposed to be peace between them? Like he came out of nowhere and tries to kill her. Neither of them knew each other and he just happens to be in the Cult which killed her father which reminds her of her purpose to find them and get revenge?

  2. Why was Daniel Pine (Norman Reedus) not killed by the Continental after the fight with the Cult? I am pretty sure he killed people. Ballerina and Pine were knocked out a block away from each other. She was taken by Continental and the other Cult people were killed but Pine is in some hospital somewhere alive at the end of the movie.

Can someone please explain? Thank you.

I watched BALLERINA! This is a must see!!-UNR

https://ift.tt/Bmb395q

No outright spoilers but!

Fantastic approach to a spinoff and has some of the best explosions of the franchise!!! 9/10!!  There is a post i saw saying she is a mary sue or she is too strong but that is total B.S. she has more moments of weakness than any john wick movie imo… scenes i enjoyed: Norman reedus scenes, nightclub scene, john wick scenes, armory scenes and the scene in the restaraunt/bar.

Ranking. Best to least,Chapter 4, Ballerina, Chapter 2, Chapter 1 and Chapter 3

In prep i did rewatch them all last week to get prepped up!! (Recency bias be dammed!)

Just saw Ballerina after only having seen the first John Wick film and I thought it was excellent but there's a few things that I personally didn't like-UNR

https://ift.tt/Bmb395q

I loved the film, but there were two parts and one overall thing from the film that I didn't like, so I would like to start a civil discussion and see how other people felt about these moments.

  1. I get that John Wick is a legend and everything, but I didn't like how easily he beat Eve in their fight. I would have preferred if she put up more of a fight through things like fighting dirty. For me, this also made all the villains look weaker, since Eve was able to dispatch them but got trounced by John.

  2. I didn't like the fact that John Wick killed the main henchman near the end of the film. I personally felt that made Eve look weaker since she needed John to save her. For me, this took away from Eve’s being the star of the film.

  3. This is just a personal thing, but I would have liked it if Norman Reedus had more of a role in the film. Maybe he could have helped Eve when she went after the main villain to save his daughter.

Ballerina spoiler review: watch 'The Long Kiss Goodnight' instead-UNR

https://ift.tt/Bmb395q

So overall I give the movie 4/10. I was pretty dissapointed. The movie would have worked better if it had no relation to the JW series because the expectations of the brand were not met. This movie played out like a bad "tacticool" video game.

I feel like people who aren't Chad and Keanu dont understand why people like the JW series. Ballerina was closer in quality to The Continental than the JW movies. And that's not good.

I'll go over different categories about why I formed my opinion the way I did: sound, visuals, characters, writing, etc...

Sound: 7/10

Music was really good when we got it but there were no standout tunes like the JW movies had. Nothing as catchy as anything else in the previous movies.

Gunshots and other violence sounded pretty good.

Visuals: 7/10

The signature lighting of the JW movies was present in a few scenes, which looked good. Most scenes were too dark to fully enjoy unlike the JW movies.

Flamethrowers were cool for all of 10 seconds.

Violence: 5/10

Some of it is a writing issue. But most of the choreography was boring, flat, uninteresting and far below what I've come to expect from the JW brand.

They address the "how can a girl go on a killing spree with assassins?" issue with a line during her training montage about "you will always be smaller and weaker. So cheat. Be smart. Fight like a girl." And then she proceeds to fight like a man for the rest of the movie. No foreshadowing payoff. Just "plot armor-fu".

When Eve does get hurt, it's like they artificially timed it. "It's been exactly 3 punches and 2 kicks. We have to show the audience we remember she's 'vulnerable'".

John Wick's scenes were not interesting at all. No good choreography from Keanu. Very forgettable scenes.

Best action scene is the opening scene of Eve's father defending their home. Nice knees and elbows from that guy.

New Characters: 4/10

Eve is ok but not the same charming stoic blank slate that is John Wick. She doesn't say anything particularly cool, deep nor interesting. Forgettable character. (The movie should have been about Shimazu's daughter from JW4). She is a textbook Mary Sue.

The only standout character other than Eve's father (who dies immediately and looks exactly like John Wick in the first movie) is the hunting shop owner.

Theres a scene with Eve caring about another Ballerina but we dont even get a reason why. All we get is Eve's opinion that the girl is "the best dancer in the school" and shes timid and Eve likes her as a friend. Then she immediately dissappears too. No other ballerinas are given any time.

Villain had no charm and easily forgettable.

Eve's sister also had no charm and easily forgettable. No outstanding character traits at all.

Norman Reedus has a very underwhelming action scene with a shotgun that lasts maybe 30 seconds to a minute. He looks like he walked off of the Walking Dead set and onto the Ballerina set in the same day. Wasted actor.

Writing, story, plot: 3/10

The writing is awful. Worse than The Continental.

The villain plot: kill anyone that leaves the assassin cult village.

Yeah, there's an assassin Cult that supposedly doesn't answer to The High Table. We are given no reasons why. They have a snowy village like Resident Evil 8. And everyone is an assassin in the cult. Wtf?

Also, the Cult has been hiding for many years. But plot armor Eve found them by basically just asking the first person she sees where they are and they know and tell her and just like that, the assassin cult that doesn't answer to The High Table and has been evading everyone for years is just found by an amateur with no spectacular skills or resources.

The final act "twist": Eve's sister has been alive and raised by the cult. Doesn't affect anything and then she dies. Not even a good conversation between the 2.

Ana was recently on Hot Ones and said they focused on humor in this movie. Fucking where? This movie was absolutely humorless. It was more bleak than the other 4 JW movies combined. I gave a chuckle to this one German chef lady but nothing memorable otherwise.

Eve's first job is to protect some girl from her abusive Asian gangster bf. She gets rubber bullets because reasons. The job doesn't require her to fight like a girl nor does she change in character after it.

Her first test is to assemble a pistol faster than another person and be the first to shoot the other person across the table. The other person is a decade experienced assassin that looks badly beaten. The experienced assassin has done the tear before. They get a head start on Eve. Eve still wins. Why?

I should explain: unlike John Wick who shows us he's the best at what he does from the first scene, Eve has up to this point only been shown as average (for Ballerina students). She doesn't do anything better than anyone except hitting a guy in the balls (who practically just let's her do it, because how can an assassin trainer not be prepared for a ball kick?). She isn't John Wick, but since the movie title heavily implies that she's pretty much the next him, I feel this just wasn't shown properly. Her plot armor is thicker and more inconsistent than John's.

This movie is so obviously being forced into the JW franchise. What i mean is that it's obvious this was never intended to be connected.

As many have already noticed, the timing of having John's involvement in this movie makes no sense whatsoever. This movie takes place between JW3 and JW4. Not only would this event be mentioned when John visited the Ruska Roma in JW4 because of how it went down, it would imply that John was "working again" when JW4 heavily implied John was training and recovering in the sewers with the Bowery King that whole time.

So John is hired by the Ruska Roma to kill Eve, "a loose end" that may cause a war between Ruska Roma and the Cult. No one seems to care about the consequences of the High Table in this movie at all (except for 1 mention of "not conduction business on Continental grounds").

So John is in New York, Ruska Roma talks to the Cult leader and makes a deal to kill Eve by midnight or start a war, and in a few minutes John is in a hidden mountain village in Europe only accessible by train with a new suit and nothing else. Holy fast travel, Batman.

Let me be clear: this is a winter wonderland snowy mountain village. John shows up in a suit and dress shoes and nothing else. Not even a bag of guns. Literally nothing else. Oh, but he has the Pit Viper pistol that he should only be receiving much later in the events of JW4. Did Wiseman even watch the other movies?

So John is literally doing a job for Ruska Roma. He has no personal investment in Eve otherwise. But suddenly he grows a heart because she stares at him with her big puppy eyes. Maybe John thinks she looks like Daisy. I dunno. But what I do know is that John doesn't act like John at all in this movie. She keeps attacking him and he keeps trying to spare her for some rule loophole (it's not yet midnight) when all John cares about at this point is revenge.

Eve can't take 1 John Wick but takes out The Cult before she even reaches full assassin status. Absolutely a Mary Sue. She has the same odds as John including John himself but she survives it all with less training, experience and resources. Spare me.

Forcing the "everyone is connected to the main character" trope is terrible in this movie. Like, why is her sister still alive? Why tell us at the end of the movie when it doesn't matter anymore? Why does her dad know Winston? Why does Winston care about him? Or her? I thought Winston thought John was special to him in some way. But now he's just Batman going around recruiting orphans? Wtf? So how many people does he do this to?

So Eve kills the Cult leader and is excommunicated with a bounty. Oh yeah, and she saves Norman's daughter from the Cult leader who only got caught because she went looking for Norman to find the Cult. But whatever. Wasn't that interesting anyways.

Also, this is a small nitpick but: Winston's hair.

In every other encounter, he has slightly longer hair down his neck. It's consistent in all 4 JW movies.

When we see Winston in Ballerina, he has a short and tight hairstyle. It's also this short and tight when he first meets Eve as a little girl. So he has magic hair that grows and shrinks randomly. How does a mistake like this get made?

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I've covered the big stuff.

I really wanted to love this movie. I went in with a positive mindset. But I can't deny just how dissapointing this was.

If you want a similar but better movie, watch:
