Possible theory-UNR

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Note: I don't believe this to be a strongly possible theory, this is an idea I've hatched from what I've seen that could possibly contain elements of whats to come with Death Stranding.

I've seen a number of videos proposing theories on what happens in Death Stranding. My favorite by far has been the "Monster of the Week" video by RagnarRox (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCQvFPll-oQ), mostly because of his analysis of the five figures in the end and how he connects them to the five angels in the end that are linked to Rapture.

After seeing the new trailer, it makes me think back to the possible religious themes this game could carry. There's a lot of connections with multidimensional travel as well, including P.T./Silent Hills, and now with "Bridges" in the mix, it points even more towards multidimensional travel.

What I think is a possible theory is that this group "Bridges" was working with multidimensional travel, trying to connect to other dimensions, maybe even the afterlife. Norman Reedus' character is possibly related to del Toro's, or the baby he was holding, possibly being that person in an alternate reality, or having some sort of connection to them through the handcuff. If that is the case, then the things talked about below must somehow be happening simultaneously in Reedus' world.

The dead are clearly seen walking the earth again, creating havoc and widespread destruction- a possible sign of the apocalypse. At the end of the trailer, we see that the four skeleton figures are controlled by the central fifth figure- reminiscent of the five floating figures at the end of the first trailer. In Christian theology, Satan is one of said cherubim, and depicted as the central and highest angel of the five, until he sins against God and is punished. Note how at the end of the first trailer, the central of the five figures floats with his arms crossed, a sign of refusal or unwillingness. This figure in the middle of the floating entities, and the man controlling the skeleton warriors at the end of the trailer, could quite possibly be Satan himself, making him the main antagonist against Norman Reedus' character.

The radio transmissions say a lot too- it mentions beings that have been continuously watching over society, controlling everything we do, and that soon a portal to another dimension would open. This itself could be referring to God and the higher angels, and predicting the opening of the portal bringing in Satan and the apocalypse.

What might have happened could have been that Bridges opened up a hole into the next life itself, ushering in Rapture/the apocalypse, bringing hell itself into our world.

EDIT: In regards to del Toro and Reedus, it's also possible that their characters are in different realities, but are connected via the handcuff. This would mean they were in the same place at one point, but it would mean Reedus is not from said alt-reality and knows del Toro somehow, possibly having too once worked for bridges.
