I love Norman Reedus and I love him in pretty much any movie he’s in, but every time I see him I just think “Okay, that’s just Daryl but maybe slightly more clean”. He’s kind of a one dimensional actor, just playing the same role in every thing he’s in.
Andrew Lincoln on the other hand, is easily the best actors on the entire show, and easily one of the best actors I’ve ever seen on cable tv. From season 1 to his last season on the show, to The Ones Who Live, he’s consistently shown that he is an incredibly talented actor. He can do emotionally vulnerable (Negan’s Line-up scene), he can be dangerous and scary (season 5 feral Rick), he can be everything in between. His range is unreal.
So why don’t we see him in more big roles like Norman Reedus? Are casting directors just completely blind to him? Maybe Andrew Lincoln just prefers to live modestly and not seek out many roles? I just think he should be in waaaay more movies. Hell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Steven Yeun have been taking on lots of big roles since the show ended, I think Andrew Lincoln deserves to be up there with them in terms of popularity.
I just feel like Andrew Lincoln could and should be just as much of a household name as Norman Reedus. I can see him in marvel roles, indie movie roles, drama, action, hell, I would give anything to see Andrew Lincoln play a bond-villain type of character. We’ve seen him be a hero and antihero throughout the show, I think he has the range to do full on evil villain.
