Now that season 46 is in the books, I think it’s time we look forward to season 47. The Anya Taylor-Joy/Lil Nas X episode last night may have been the end of the road for many cast members including Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant, Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, Pete Davidson, Colin Jost and Michael Che and possibly Lauren Holt and Punkie Johnson. (Side note: if it’s not then maybe next season will be the last for the veterans).
With NYC set to reopen fully on July 1st thanks to vaccinations on the rise, SNL should be able to have a full audience when season 47 begins this fall. With that said, this past season might have set a record for most SNL episodes with first-time hosts this century. I think next season will have first-time hosts as fan favorite hosts and people who haven’t hosted in a while as well as people who I want to see join the five timers club and hosts from this past season.
It has a mix of Actors, Comedians, Athletes, Politicians, Newscasters and even models. No billionaires, we’ve seen enough after Elon Musk and we don’t need another. It’s a lot but these predictions have great talent and I can’t wait to see who will host when SNL returns for its 47th season on September 25th or October 2nd. If some of them don’t, then maybe they could host in season 48. Also I think SNL should get Non-Actors to host more often. It would be so fun for them to show their soft side outside of their careers. So here they are, these are my picks for next season in no particular order:
