With E3 fast approaching, i believe we will hopefully get the full detailed reveal we're all waiting for and not another cryptic trailer. For now, let's have fun posting any interesting info or connections you can find.
What we know so far about Death Strandings story(Comic Con 2016): In Death Stranding’s case,”something from another world [is] stranding in our world,” which means an alien of sorts.
Now for the teaser trailer some people ask me if it's horror or spiritual...i didn't want to tie the genre too much, so i put elements in there for people that like science fiction, that like science, occultism, philosophy, horror, they can take their own interpretation from these different standpoints and imagine and talk about what the game will be. So I'm putting a lot of elements in this game. It's in a different time, to say a different world...but what you will experience there will relate to a lot of true feelings, true problems that everyone has nowadays. So it will look like something from a completely different world, something that has nothing to do with you but then it will end up feeling like something that is very associated with what you go through in real society and day to day life. So here are some random pt details i have noticed that may or may not connect to death stranding:
The Ludens "Those who play" and the controller light theory by aiden. A crash screen in pt mentioning "Knowing you i was sure you'd notice this game and play it" Signed by - J. Dad was such a drag. Every day he'd eat the same kind of food, dress the same, sit in front of the same kind of games... Yeah, he was just that kind of guy. The second to last level in pt crashes just like a videogame would, 204863 echoing throughout the house or maybe in the characters subconscious before hearing a baby cry and finally crashing. Is Norman stuck inside a virtual game world? Is this why mads could de-materialize items like his goggles? Could this be what the black crash screen is referring to? "This game is purely fictitious. It cannot harm you in any way, shape, or form."
Lisa opens up the scar Reedus has, it doesn't sound like she's tearing anything. It seems that Norman already has this scar in pt?
If you quit the game every time you do a new loop you always restart lying down in the concrete room just like how Norman starts in the first trailer.
Regarding the Garden Hose/Umbilical cord room. The radio that mentions the umbilical cord is the one coming from inside the fridge or the "separate reality" realm different from the one Reedus is in which mentions the garden hose. The red handprint in the fridge seems to confirm this. Fun note: Garden Hose/Umbilical Cord= Del Toro (umbilical hose) and Reedus (Umbilical cord)?
What could the intro "Watch out. The gap in the door... it's a separate reality." mean? Which gap is the paper bag referring to? The repeating hallway door or the bathroom? During the infinite loop hallway there are two bathrooms, they look similar except for a slight change in lighting. Interestingly the sink in both bathrooms are empty, the fetus only appears when the whole peephole loop is finished. He also only appears in that specific bathroom while the other one is completely empty. Why would there be two separate bathrooms? Two separate but parallel realities? The Silent Hill movie also seems to have parallel but realities just like pt and death stranding where one character seems to be in a similar parallel realm but they can't see the other character.
The sink fetus starts to cry when Lisa approaches the bathroom similar to how the baby is crying when the handprints get closer in the first trailer. Maybe as some sort of warning to the player? The sink fetus also seems to be the one that closes the bathroom door preventing Lisa from coming in.
One detail that cannot go unnoticed are the handprints, they have been present ever since the original pt concept movie and are also present in pt and both DS trailers. Interestingly in the pt concept movie the handprints seem to create new alternate realities when a door is ripped apart and thrown to a wall. In pt the handprints are just before the loop door that takes you through different time periods or alternate realities. The fridge has one distinct red skeleton handprint and remember this is where the "Umbilical Cord" broadcast comes from aka an alternate reality or timeline. In the second DS trailer the handprints only appear when the abandoned doll starts flashing red. A couple of seconds later Mads and his soldiers come into view while flashing red.
Unused audio in pt has these specific recordings: "Your son. Send him on his way to heaven by your own hands, it's not too late if you act fast." The whole tone of these two trailers do seem very dark and somber. Reedus crying when he holds the male baby. The meat tanks with bones in the second trailer and undead soldiers. This just doesn't look like an action game to me. You can also see that the baby Del Toro carries is clearly also male.
Reedus seems to have the same power as Mads with the retracting umbilical cords so he might be already dead? The black cords are all connected to dead things ie: crabs, tanks, soldiers.
The cancelled silent hills artwork posted not too long ago by Masahiro Ito has a couple of interesting details. The bridge is filled with black strands connecting one section to another, (Immediately thought back to "Bridges" pin deltoro has) you can clearly see individual strands on top of the white doors. The middle of the bridge seems to be dripping with blood or maybe the black liquid show in DS. Also seen is the baby stroller, again relating to newborn/babies...what looks to be a very important theme in DS. http://ift.tt/2q3npCy
