Hey!

I’m making this post looking for creative ace people to connect with, and I’m open to friendships or a relationship. I got out of a long-term relationship last year and I’m looking to put myself out there again and make a meaningful connection with someone new. I’ve met cool people through here before, so I figured I’d give it another shot.

My name is Low. I’m 26M, I’m a visual artist, and I’m demisexual. I live in Southern California. I’m an Aquarius and INFP. I’m very left-wing/anti-capitalist politically. I’m very passionate and vocal about human rights, queer rights, housing/public transit reform, urban planning, anti-fascism, anti-imperialism, etc. In terms of my other hobbies and interests, I devote quite a bit of time and attention to: art history, world cinema, photography, making mixed media art, CRPGs/JRPGs, all sorts of alternative rock/pop subgenres (hyperpop, shoegaze, post-punk, etc.), post-modern/sci-fi and experimental literature, collecting physical media, animation, creative writing, comics/graphic novels, and generally all things experimental and creative. I’m very passionate about surreal, expressionistic art. My favorite mediums to work with are ink, acrylic, and oil pastel but I tend to dabble in a little bit of everything. With all of that being said, I’m not exclusively some stuffy pretentious art guy. I’m open-minded and I love hearing about anything and everything that people are passionate about. I have a job working in marketing and graphic design, and I’m in my last semester finishing up my bachelor’s degree. I have a very deadpan, absurdist sense of humor. I really love animals, especially cats. I’m quite a big fan of cutesy, silly cartoon/comic characters like Chiikawa or Pompompurin as well. I’m a big foodie and a heavy coffee/tea drinker. I love going to concerts/shows. I don’t drink, smoke, or do any sort of drugs. I’m also a big fan of going out to thrift stores, bookstores, libraries, museums, and taking little day trips on the train all over Southern California.

In terms of what I’m looking for, I’m really drawn to people who are passionate about the arts/creativity (especially the weird, conceptual, experimental side of things). I’d really like to have a deep intellectual and emotional connection with someone who cares about the breadth and depth of art/culture as much as I do. If you’re passionate about history, literature, films, music, making art, and human creative expression; then we’ll probably get along quite well. I’m looking to take things slow and build a really meaningful and deep connection. I’d really like to have a long-term best friend, someone to spend quality time with consistently and build a life with. I’m a big fan of spending time teaching each other about our individual interests as well as doing things like parallel play or playing video games or watching films together. I’m open to the idea of having a kid in the future, but it’s not something I feel strongly about one way or the other. I’d prefer if you’re located in California (especially SoCal) but I’m not opposed to LDR (in North America) if there’s a connection. I’m demisexual but I’m mildly sex-repulsed, so I’m open to a sexual relationship with the right person once we’ve established a deep emotional connection but it’s not a necessity. I’m otherwise very physically and emotionally affectionate, and I really value empathy and consistent communication. I’m typically more attracted to femme or non-binary people but I have been attracted to masc people before as well. I’m happy to be friends with anyone, regardless of location or gender. My preferred age range would be between 21-30.

Lastly, if you’re curious about what I look like or my general vibe. I’m 5’10, I’m sorta alternative and I dress a bit like a grungy hippie bum, I’m white, I have long shaggy brownish-blonde hair, I usually either have a short full beard or a mustache, and I’ve got a chubby/dad bod physique (though I’ve been working hard to lose weight and get into better shape recently). I have been regularly compared to Jesus, young Jeff Bridges, and Norman Reedus if you want a loose point of reference. I’m happy to share pictures of myself once we’ve talked and gotten to know each other a bit.

I was searching for some items to spawn and found this "Reedus_test". It spawns a bunch of orange cloathing in the air that can't be interacted with. A few updates ago it was possible to spawn the speed bikeparts including armored parts, now I found this and I'm not sure if this is new or not. Could this be teasing Norman Reedus DLC or something? I saw Norman Reedus put out a book of portraits taken on the set of TWD, and there are some photos of zombies in there. I have a hot take. Im indifferent about certain kinds of advertisement in videogames. Like if im playing gta and i drive by a bud light billboard i dont really feel anything. I think that you have to be actively making yourself upset at something like that. Like an ad that you can easily overlook isn't something to be upset at.

Like i remember Kaya was doing his bitching and moaning about monster in death stranding, like i dont see the problem. Its not like norman reedus' character picks up a can and goes "I LOVE MONSTER" while looking at the camera or anything. Its not a big deal, man.

I dont think its sleazy or scummy. I also dont think its good. I just really dont care, and i think people who argue heavily either way sound like children throwing a tantrum over not sharing his legos or something.

Hot take on Tyler Bates-UNR

I started listening to Manson around 2018 so his most recent work back then were the 2 albums produced and composed by Tyler Bates. If they, or more precisely Pale Emperor wouldn’t be so good, I guess I wouldn’t become a fan, at least so quickly. Of course I was impressed by tryptich from the first listen but it wasn’t until I’ve heard Deep Six and Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge until I thought that this guy is STILL seriously talented and capable of writing awesome music.

But let’s begin with 2019. His live shows were declining. You can watch any performance from 2019 and the chance you’ll see him being drunk and high off his mind is pretty high, as well as mumbling or forgetting the lyrics, not being able to stand straight for one song etc. etc. His music was still good tho and he had some tv appearances and that’s it I guess.

Let’s move on to February 2021. Marilyn Manson’s career is done. No record label. No band. No manager. Shooter Jennings pretends Marilyn Manson and the album they recorded together doesn’t exist. Rob Zombie pretends their tour never happened. Norman Reedus, well, you know what I’m talking about. He became hated by everyone. If anyone tried to defend him, it would result in being accused of victim blaming and supporting a garbage human being, or just straight to the point a garbage human being. The perspective of a new album is very distant and the tour seems pretty much impossible.

Two years after that Manson has his lawsuit going on, he performed with Kanye who has gone mad already by 2023, he is supposed to release a song with Kat Von D and what? His comeback is anticipated by people on this sub, he is defended publicly by Kat, Colonel Kurtz and Tim Skold’s wife but still if you mention that you’re a Manson fan you’re going to trased over the internet. And still there is no sign that he could be ever able to tour again. Let’s be real, he was still hated by everyone except for his most loyal group of fan so except for us :) And on top of all of that, people still remember his drunk live shows, fights with band members etc. Sobriety? It was an urban legend, I guess it was Paula who said he went to a rehab in an interview with Kurtz.

Now let’s take a look at Tyler Bates. He started working with M, during one of his lowest periods, they made a kick ass album and went on tour! Manson has a new band, formed by no one else but Tyler Bates (except for Twiggy). Things seemed to be getting better until Manson threw a bottle of beer on Bates’ pedalboard and later on threatened him with a boxcutter. Tyler Bates isn’t type of guy who’s gonna let that type of behaviour happen so he leaves the band. Rightfully so. But they get back together again in a period which was even more horrid. Manson faces death of his mother, father, his cat, his relationship is unhealthy (check messages between him and Depp in 2016) and his addictions are getting completely out of hand. Tyler Bates makes a record with him, goes on tour with him and he comes back to his main job - movies. He has a lot of high budget productions at this point and is likely to be more successful without Manson than with him, although that collaboration definitely gave him some wider recognition.

When Marilyn Manson gets cancelled, Tyler Bates goes on tour with Jerry Cantrell and makes a record with him. Fuck yeah, he doesn’t have to dive deep in controversy to play some rock music for big audiences! But… but he eventually does. He sacrifices everything to make an album with the world’s most hated rockstar and go on tour with him. He brings back his friend Gil, girlfriend of Greg Pucciato, who sang for Cantrell and Piggy D (I don’t think that he’s connected to Bates in anyway but still half of the band is). But don’t forget that it wasn’t a Marilyn Manson’s world tour. He left all of his other projects to play as an opening act for Five Finger Death Punch. It’s easy to forget about that when Manson’s tour dates get sold out pretty easily. It was literally just a little bit over a year ago.

Right now, most of the people in rock/metal community know that Manson is different. That he’s a solid act. He gets praised Alice Cooper, Eddie Trunk, John 5, Ozzy Osbourne (if you read his new book), his ex wife shows up to his birthday party along with a lot of people he used to work with. It wouldn’t have happened without Bates. Actually his birthday party in 2024 was organized by Tyler.

I have no idea what they are like behind the scenes. I have no idea if they had any fall out recently. But based on what we know:

I wish all of you to have a friend like Tyler Bates. I wish Tyler Bates the very best because he’s awesome. I’m happy I could see him live with Manson last year- it was incredible. I’m bummed he won’t be there when I’ll see Manson in July but I’m grateful for everything this man has done for my favorite artist.

I am a big fan of fallout for like the past 10 years it's one of my favorite game series of all time I've been a fan since 4 came out around 2015 I've kind of played all the games except for brotherhood of Steel and tactics I mean I would like to play tactics someday my favorite fallout games are the first 2 and new Vegas and 3 my favourite characters are Mr house Dean domino Raul Tejada Boone he's my favourite companion to be around with rex he's also my favourite companion my favorite DLCs are nuka world operation anchorage point lookout honest heart dead money my thoughts on the fallout TV show I like it I just like it so yeah I'm a huge fan of fallout

Bioshock

Around like February 2024 2 years ago I played through all the bioshock games 1 2 and infinite I play for all the games I love the first two especially the second one that is the most fun I had of the bioshock games I find the city rapture awesome and beautiful the idea of a underwater city is awesome and if there's like ever a real life City that's like rapture underwater I would definitely go there not for long because the fear of the glass breaking and the water coming in would scare me I really love the plot twists in the first one I like the fact that it was just bluntly in your face all along like Jacks chains tattoos around his wrists the beginning part when rapture gets introduced it's like beautiful the soundtrack amazing seeing all the sea creatures swimming around best introduction I really like the second game it's more fun and I actually feel like I'm playing a powerful character I like you can hear the foot stumps and rapture is more destroyed and basically broken Rapture is now just basically a lawless City of chaos and mayhem I'm not really a big fan of the third game to be honest it's not because it's set and rapture no no I think Columbia looks beautiful the idea of a Skycity contrast against a sea City yeah I'm not really big fan of the multiverse thing what's going on around the story so yeah I'm a bioshock fan also my favorite bit like when you explore you found more good stuff like health kits Adam and ammo I like when games actively rewards players for exploring around the level it gives players more motivation to explore the environment more the level more

Project Zomboid

To me project Zomboid is one of the most depressing zombie games out there and the best zombie game ever created there's no like special zombies these are classic zombies Romero zombies and what I like about the game is their brutal dedication for realism I don't really play this game anymore since my laptop broke I had like one thousand three hundred something I used to normally spawn at Rosewood and use the police station as a base and basically made it my home you know I absolutely adore playing with people not servers but people and this is how I always imagine what me and my bro would do in a zombie apocalypse and actual zombie apocalypse and I really hope project zomboid ported to consoles it was the ultimate zombie fantasy for me you know also when I was in Rosewood spawn Rosewood I used to also try to make the high school my base and it took hours to like barricade the windows making sure no zombies break in I really love this game I made several friends that are now I'm not in contact with anymore but I really love this game and have good memories with it I got out my birthday back in 2022 would I come back to it oh hell yes the main problem is I don't have a laptop a second I get a windows laptop I'm getting getting back to playing the game I was never big into mods I mean I only Mudd the game that you know add features that makes sense for me and I didn't like overly mod the game you know but yeah I love projects

I'm a big fan of hazbin hotel being a fan since 2023 before the full show came out man I really love this show my favorite characters is angel husker Lucifer Adam Charlie my favourite musical number were happy day and hell brighter stayed gone hell is forever I really love the fan base sometimes there is like so many creative people and it's I absolutely adored the original pilot that came out in 2019 and I prefer the OG pilot art style over they Amazon art style for me the pilot art style felt so lively you know I really adore some of the character designs especially the background characters now I won't try to deny that the writing is very very flawed some of the jokes come off as someone just saying inappropriate stuff try to come off as cool and edgy without realizing they're making themselves look like an idiot but I still love the show because I've been a fan for like 3 years my thoughts on helluva well I like it not the same way as for hazbin but I still like it though but still though I'm always little disappointed that Norman Reedus didn't return to play striker like Bros voice suited the character

I really love the show Dexter I love the first five seasons but I wish they would have lean into the horror aspects like the first episode but yeah I still like Dexter I'm also not a huge fan of original sin I find it very unnecessary and I find Christian Slater's casting of Harry Morgan to be very unnecessary but I don't think it's deserved to be canceled I also really want to see Dr danco in the next season of Dexter resurrection as the main villain of the season bro is terrifying if you have read the books I love that scene when Dexter confront that dude and screams at him open your eyes and look at what you did I also really love the soundtrack it's really good

I would love to write stories with comedy in it and sometimes I try to like think okay there's a scene that's funny and I'm gonna try to think what made the scene funny like I care about actually being funny than just throwing stuff at the wall and telling the audience hey look joke laugh ! No I feel like every writer should watch a scene and then think what made that scene funny and rememberable

My favourite video games GTA IV I love the parody New York City it's truly a time capsule showing what 2008 New York used to look like MGS 3 snake eater Max Payne 3 the only game I actually feel like a badass action hero cyberpunk 2077 Red dead redemption ready or not Spider-Man PS4 The last of us dead space dead rising The resident evil game series outlast hotline Miami uncharted the OG call of duty games like the black ops
