call me stupid, but…-UNR

https://ift.tt/OZr5Izm

when i first played Days Gone i initially saw it as an unofficial Daryl Dixon sim. i do understand it’s its own thing and i love this game to death. but here are the things that made me think such a thing, and some of these are pretty far fetched, so ignore the silliness of some of them

-TWD and DG are both set in an apocalyptic world with some type of monster-like creature having basically taken the world over completely. only difference being Freakers can run and be killed by almost any fatal injury a human can be killed by, and Walkers don’t run, and can only be killed by having their brain be damaged
-Deacon and Daryl (this is silly but hey they both start with D) are both badass motherfuckers, they’d probably get along -after like the first mission, you get given a crossbow, like they make it clear that you can use it, it’s almost thrown in our faces -deacon and daryl are both trackers/hunters, and very good at that -Daryl has a brother that loses an arm, Deacon has a brother that loses an arm -(different brother), Daryl has a brother who has a fake-out death, Deacon has a brother who has a fake-out death (i’m still pissed about that i thought boozer legit died) -the love for motorbikes, and a sleeveless jacket -plot armour lol

and this one is the most far fetched, but i saw this user, u/RepeatConscious7373, i hope you see this matey, who posted a photo of the Death Stranding gas tank. Death Stranding obviously stars Norman Reedus as Sam, and you’re tasked to take this baby in some incubation chamber across the world (i think, i didnt play much because i don’t like walking simulators with long-ass cutscenes) and in Days Gone, although it’s just a cosmetic and has nothing to do w the game, if you equip the baby gas tank, you’re technically taking the baby across the world

i don’t think it’s a secret Daryl sim anymore, but there’s definitely a lot of inspiration there
