Some stuff I noticed about the newest trailer.-UNR

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

So this is going to be long, but I watched the newest trailer and I'm just throwing some stuff I noticed out there. Maybe you guys can help clarify or you have some theories?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuUQCpCpsk4

From 0:33 until the camera pans to Reedus, we see dead crabs again and possibly some more cords. Every single trailer has started out this way, with the view panning from the ground, only to rise up and center on a character shortly after.

0:45 Reedus is lying in the 'fetal' position again at the beginning of the trailer. I know Hideo made mention the fact that we should compare the last 2 trailers for clues, but I can't help but to notice the consistency here every time Reedus' character is in the trailer.

0:52 Norman has some kind of device hooked up to his suit with some easy to read numbers and hard to read letters, the black cords to this device are very present, with one heading down towards where his umbilical cord would be and another going up towards his face/throat. I'm trying to theorize what this device would be for, since he isn't wearing anything to protect his face or assist him in breathing. Perhaps this is something used for communication? But as we later see in this trailer, when they want to talk they just shout or whisper to each other. So, what could this be for?

1:13 On Reedus' back we see some kind of a dreamcatcher. Later on as I will make mention, this dreamcatcher looking thing can be seen floating around in the upside down ocean scene. If you look up what a dreamcatcher is supposed to symbolize, wikipedia states that it represents UNITY among various peoples. Is Hideo trying to hint at something here?

1:26 Norman's character stumbles over to a corpse. At first I thought this might be a fallen comrade, but look closer. The body is not in the same suit as the other 'solider' looking men in the trailer. Instead, he is wrapped up and looks as though he has been long dead and has had some form of a burial. Strangely enough, the way this person is presented, they look almost exactly identical to how native americans would bury their dead. Look up 'native american burial trees' to compare. The yellow or gold substance on the dead persons face? Well at first I thought it was vomit to be honest, but it looks more gold the more I look at it. It's actually even more than that if you REALLY look at it. It almost as looks as though this stuff was lightly spray painted on the dude's face, so it gives the impression of a skull (long dead). But underneath that stuff, is our all too familiar black liquid/ooze that is covering the entirety of his face. Something else to note, if this is gold in some way, could this be reference to the old Greek belief of placing gold coins on the eyes of the dead to pay passage to Charon (the underworld spirit) to cross the river Styx to get into Hades? Is this game hinting at some kind of afterlife or underworld theme?

1:32 The vehicle his comrade runs over to in order to attend to the injured person. If you look at it's structure, this thing is pretty high up. Possibly this could be due to the fact that we have already seen this world flood with black ooze multiple times and the vehicles height compensates for this? Also notice the lights underneath the vehicle, how similar they look to the handcuff lights and other gear. Also, what could possibly have tipped this vehicle over? If you look around the landscape is pretty flat, wouldn't you say? I see no ditches or rocks or anything that could of steered them so radically off course as to cause a flip or this magnitude. It is raining, but the tires look as though they are used for offroading and should help at least a little with weather like this. Short of something quite frightening or shocking causing the driver to abruptly turn and flip the truck, I can't see anything else that might have caused this. Also it's worth mentioning the injured guy underneath the car, would have probably been the driver because of his positioning.

1:34 What is that weird object we only see for a few seconds, halfway buried in front of the vehicle? It's headlights are shining directly on it.

1:39 The two soliders uniforms are clearly different from Norman's uniform. Is this because he is their superior? Or maybe he isn't associated with them in any way and these men just happened to meet up with Norman in some way? They seem to know him enough to know his name, but apart from that, we have no evidence that these three are actually part of the same unit. Also note that both of these men have the "Bridges" patch on their uniform, which could easily be what Hideo was talking about this game having to do with connections. Bridges connect two separate lands so that we can cross. Another thing, both of these men are from 'team 6' as the rubber armband underneath their badge indicates. Norman does not have this armband or any armband that links him to a numbered unit. Notice the wrist band on the injured solider is a yellow color.

1:52 The injured man grow's older before our very eyes, and it seems to cause him at least some minor discomfort, the next time we see his wrist band, it is orange. He grits his teeth and screams a little and though yes, he is injured, these cries seem to be more form the sudden onset of aging rapidly rather than panicked cries from being injured. What caused this?

2:10 We see the contraption on the soliders shoulder turn, it's clearly following whatever is hunting them. Notice beforehand, how it was turned towards Norman? Was the 'predator' like thing behind Norman and then suddenly teleported closer to the injured man? Or is there something fishy going on with Reedus' character who we now know as 'Sam'? Side note and probably important! Notice the soliders RIGHT eye has a tear rolling down his cheek. More on this later!

2:17 Large black hand prints again that fill with black ooze as though the ground is saturated with it. If you pay attention to where the thumbs are on the handprints, you get an idea of how this creature is moving, and get the feeling that it is either really narrow or just transparent that it does not affect anything around it when it's stalking. It doesnt collide with the men, and it doesn't seem to be very wide from the trail it's leaving. Think about your own footprints or an animals, usually you can tell how big or large an animal is by the distance from print to print, this creature has almost no distance or width from its tracks, telling us it's possible that it's small with large hands or maybe just untouchable in this form. Side note, the creature stalks over the strange onject the headlights are shining on. Another side note, the solider gives Norman a thumbs up, more on this later...

2:41 More strange wreckage and metal objects. We could theorize that this is from the car, and it might be. But the car happens to look as though it's mostly in one piece and has just flipped over. These metal objects mostly seem to be halfway buried and too large for the vehicle, which looks as though it has sustained minimal damage. There is a red canister that looks like either a fire extinguisher or an oxygen tank for scuba diving, which would be a strange thing to keep on a land vehicle.

3:00 The corpse is shaking all over, black sludge stains through its wraps. Unlike the men who are quite literally attacked by hands and faces later, the dead person slowly sinks underneath the ground. The 'gold' paint on it's face does not sink however, it floats up and disintegrates away like sparks from a bonfire. This could be taken several different ways, but it still reminds me of the dead paying a toll to cross into the underworld. Further into the trailer however, we see another gold face. So this could be taken multiple ways. Side note, the floor almost looks like water as it ripples, the space on the floor where the corpse laid is now filling with black liquid.

3:12 Huge shadowy form flying up into the sky. Is this the corpses soul maybe? Or is this the thing that is hunting them? It looks almost paper thin and disappears almost intstantly overhead, before we see the handprints again, coming towards Reedus. If you can imagine this creature being comprised of shadow, moving away from the corpse after it has sunken into the ground, it's silouette shadowed onto the fog as it rises from the ground, and then drops to the floor, stalking once again.

3:21 Upon touching the area where Norman's blood spilled into the soil, the handprints and most likely the creature, seem to react to it. It's almost as though it were burning similar to how a vampire would in the sunlight. If we think of it from that perspective, we know that vampires cannot be in the sun because they are the darkness. Perhaps this thing stalking them cannot be exposed to blood because fresh blood is life, and thing making handprints is quite literally, death.

3:28 We finally see the handprint creature affect something around it, the smoke from the reaction to Norman's blood sways to the right, as though the creature move's it gaze toward the direction of the noisy injured man. The creature quickens it's pace. The way it acts towards people is strange, it seems intent on finding people who are alive and possibly disposing of the already dead because it has no use of them. I find this odd because throughout all of the trailers we see dead animals. Crabs, whales, etc. But now that I think of it, and I could be wrong here, I dont remember seeing any dead people. The only 'dead' people we see are being controlled (the skeletons under Mads influence in trailer 2). Why is this? Maybe this creatures only job is to drag away the corpses of people for one reason or another. It seems to have no use for the bodies of animals.

3:36 The man remarks on how they are surrounded, and we see more shadowed figures like the one that floated up from the corpse moments ago. The soliders shoulder contraption seems to be going crazy looking in all directions, as though it can't decide where to focus, until deciding to focus on the closest danger, the handprint monster hovering over his injured friend.

3:42 Unlike with the corpse, this solider is still very much alive (albeit a lot older now than at the beginning of the trailer) when arms and hands begin attacking him. The man is clearly in pain and in a panic. He fears something that we could assume is death, but his screams are telling a possible different story here of something that is worse than just death. The way the monster attacks him is visibly more violent from how it peacefully sunk the corpse from before. Was the handprint monster attracted to him because he was so injured he was already dying? Or was it attracted to him because he is so old now he could be dying from old age? Maybe the man isn't dying at all, and this creatures purpose is to handle the dead and do something different with the people it find's that are still alive? Regardless, the creature swarms him like a shark drawn to blood in the water, but since he is still somewhat alive, the handprint creature seems to feel the need to restrain him and try to carry him away? For what purpose? What does it want with people who are still alive? Whatever that purpose is, the soliders seem to have an idea, and would rather shoot each other or commit suicide than go through with it.

3:50 Why doesn't the solider shoot right away? He hesitates. He doesn't look overcome with fear or anguish from his dying comrade. But still, he has way more of a clear shot here than he does later on when he finally decides to put the man out of his misery. Once he does shoot his injured friend, the handprint monster drops him, and if you look carefully, you can start to see the dead soliders extremities begin to slowly sink into the oily soil. Now that he is dead, it's almost as if the handprint creature has no need of him and drops the body immediately, it's hard to tell if the solider's body begins to sink here or not because we don't have much time to look before the camera turns and all hell breaks loose shortly after.

4:08 What the...? Now we see someone float down and land on the top of the overturned vehicle. His handgestures here are spot on with Mad's character in trailer #2. If we look closer when the lightning strikes, this character also has a gold face. It looks slightly different from the corpses gold face however. This character looks almost as though he is wearing a gold mask.

4:12 The same hand gestures Mad's character uses. The last time we saw this gesture, it was also pointing towards the baby. The contraption on the dark figures shoulder is very different from the soliders, his has an orange hue and is pointing directly towards the man carrying the infant in the pod. The soliders contraption now starts to react, whereas if we look before the man pointed it was facing towards where the newly fallen solider's body laid, but now that the dark figure pointed it has quickly turned towards a new threat and the man turns as if sensing it. Even the baby is reacting to something that is going to happen, it starts swimming around inside the pod. Unlike in the #2 trailer (we dont see it's face in the #1 trailer), both of it's eyes are open now.

4:21 The dark figure is gone, the entire floor becomes flooded in inky liquid. The machine on the soliders shoulder now faces towards the sinking vehicle and he almost immediately begins shooting at something we cannot see. What I find strange is that he would want to make this much noise with something around that Norman's character Sam points out you shouldn't make noise (dont even breathe) around. Yet this solider starts pumpking lead into the horizon. Does he actually see something or is he just panicked here? His machine is facing the same way and actually begins to spazz out again as though it can't quite decide which target to focus on. It turns just in time for the camera to pan downward and show us that the second solider is now being grabbed at by oil covered hands and figures that emerge out of the now flooded ground. He flings the pod towards Reedus, telling him to run.

4:45 When we pan back to the solider, he is almost standing at rest. He no longer seems to be fighting or struggling. His machine is completely shut down looking and closed. He has a gun up to his face as though he is going to commit suicide and has made his peace, but something unseen (most likely the handprint monster), grabs him by the foot causing his gun to misfire and miss his face. He reaches for his gun, but is unable to, so instead he reaches into his pocket and desperately tries to end his life by repeatedly stabbing himself. It's worthy to note here, to watch the man's wrist band which changes color from blue, to yellow, to orange just as with the injured solider. Orange clearly means that the person is near death in some way. The solider's body in the background rises behind the struggling one, his lights are completely off. We see very visible unbilical cords in the distance.

5:24 We see that when norman picks up the baby in the pod a similar contraption rises from his shoulder directing his gaze to a dark form in the distance. When he picks up the baby, the pod goes from cokpletely dark to the baby seemingly waking up and looking around from inside the pod. We see more dead crabs rise up with the dead solider and now dying one. The unbilical cords look as though they had been attached to a goliath figure with a open head. It has a monstrous unbilical cord running from it's belly to the ground. When the camera pans to the large figure we hear the music become more mechanical sounding. We hear the man screaming still while he is trying to die, he was unsuccessful in his suicide attempts and is being draw itno the open head of the golem looking figure. As soon as he is swallowed up, there is an explosion of light.

6:18 Notice how Norman doesn't seem to be struggling for air. He's naked (again), and the baby is nowhere to be found. The dead bopdies floating up seem to keep floating once they reach the surface, and a strange creature with many legs (that looks similar to the face of the goliath if it had detached itself and started roaming around) begins to soar from above and eat cadavers (yummy X_X)

6:33 The camera pans down again, we see more unbilical cords. There is a lot of wreckage here, some of it looks very old, and then we see the BRIDGES logo, telling us that the door is most likely from the car the soliders were driving. We also see the dreamcatcher from Norman's gear. When the camera is done panning, we see Norman is not naked anymore, he is instead back in his suit and the cords are attached to him.

6:54 Baby thumbs up! Similar to the solider giving the all clear from before.

7:00 We are back on land again, Norman pukes up some rather disgusting looking black stuff that harbors some wriggling creatures that float away. When he picks up the pod, we see something tiny hanging from it, like a skelton or an astronaut or something. A single tear rolls down Norman's character's RIGHT eye, just like with the solider's from before.

7:45 The five figures again, and inside the giant crater is a handprint filled with oily liquid. Umbilical cords are everywhere rising up to the sky.

8:15 Oh..yeah!
