Death Stranding Theory-UNR

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The world is on the verge of a global cataclysm. The five floating figures from the first and third trailer represent the coming of Rapture. However, given the dude in the third trailer stabbing himself when being taken up, they’re clearly not going to Heaven. Soon, the forth explosion will come, and it will be humanity’s last. To ensure the survival of the species, humanity is taking babies and preserving them in artificial wombs, and they are trying to get them to a secure location to ensure that they survive the explosion.

In the first trailer, Sam (Norman Reedus) is crying while holding the baby because it is out of the protectional womb and that black footprint monster is close by. I’m guessing that the monsters are aware of humanity’s plans because they seem to be targeting the babies. I’m also guessing that there’s something about Sam that prevents the monster from getting to him because of the hand prints all over his body that suggest it has tried.

In the second trailer, we see Guillermo Del Toro’s character being hunted by the skeleton soldiers and Madds Mikkelson’s character, who is hunting the babies. The baby Guillermo has is probably different from the one Sam has.

The third trailer is the most important. The three people (Sam and the other guys) were on their way to where they are taking the babies, when they were intercepted by Madds. One got stuck underneath the truck, and the other tried to help. Once they were detected by the monster, the one under the truck was carried off, and the other shot him out of mercy. Madds then came down on them, and called upon the giant (which i think is the footprint monster in a larger and visible form) that we see later. They tried to take one of the guys, but he stabbed himself to prevent a worse fate. Sam then picked up the baby in its womb and tried to protect it from the explosion that the giant generated. He then blacked out. He started to think that maybe his efforts were fruitless, and that he should just give up and let himself be taken. But then something brought him back down to earth: the baby. The motivation to keep going in order to save humanity and ensure it’s safety.

Those are my thoughts on the story so far.
