See Ground Zeroes and what it orginally was changed during development and that promise of returning to Camp Omega never really ended up happening or did it. Today I want to adress what Ground Zeroes is in relationship to Phantom Pain and what it meant to Return to camp omega.
For starters I want to retred a narrative point from MGS2 , one of the key plot points involves Raiden, somehow the Patriots A.I had reached him and tried to condition his mind to become the next legendary solider a new Solid Snake who would be obident and carry on their will using both alot of vr training as well as controlled real world scenarios.
This as far as we know is the first time but Phantom Pain actually changes that with Venom Snake, we know he is mentally condition to belive his big boss but we never see him under go the process. I dont belive this is true.
In the past many of us belive Metal Gear Solid V is a Virtual Simulation of events that took place. Thats actually not true folks the only part thats a VR is ground zeroes infact we are the body double undergoing this mental condtioning.
Want proof the whole Fox Engine failure easter egg in Ground Zeroes is a very obvious clue.
The more obscure clue however is Heres To You.
The song Hears to you is orginally heard for the first time at the end of MGS 4 during credits. I orginally thought it was just done to tie into the the previous title, this isnt the case , heres to you.... forever deep in your heart ..... your agony is your trumpith. Itd actuslly describing Venom and the agony his going through having his identity robbed. Its s trumpith some thig he will forever keep in his heart a deed that will never be rewarded lr recognized.
If you think about it Ground Zeroes is pretty werid your just thrown into the middle of a event thats already in progress not only that but instead of showing us what happened in mother base or paz being found on the shore line we sre given text instead of that exposition Hideo is known for.
Also if you notice Skullface in Ground Zeroes looks more ghastly and more like a skull faced monster, his monsterous apperance in phantom pain is greatly toned down as if someone created the Skullface from Ground Zeroes from the little stories and bit of info they got about his apperance.
The other thing i wanted to bring up was that deja vu ahd the other additonal missions in ground zeroes werent avillable day 1 they came out a lot later and people "revisted" the game to partake in the new missions. I belive those were in part some of the missions planned with another hand full post release of Phantom Pain.
Point be that i belive Ground Zeroes is a reconstructed line of events that took place, through the eyes of the medic through vr.If you really wanna throw in Silent Hills PTr you could also say thats a night kare the medic has during his down tike between vr sessions, he could very be norman reedus's chsrcer leaving the mansion and having his persona leave now gone forever as he takes the guise of Venom Snake. That radio station with the Silent Hills PT in phantom pain could actually be his concious trying to remind hik his a body double.
